We made it to Friday! Let’s kick off the weekend with some winning MLB DFS lineups. We have a great 11-game main slate in store for us this evening, getting underway at 7:05 PM EST on both DraftKings and FanDuel. Today’s slate is highlighted on the pitching side by Luis Castillo, Aaron Nola, and James Paxton at the top end, all pitching like aces recently and should be no different today. There are a lot of other intriguing arms today, though, with some great value options today to target when building your lineup. On the offensive side, we have plenty of top offenses taking the field today with no shortage of both high-end and value hitters to go after. Some of my favorite lineups to target today include the St. Louis Cardinals, Milwaukee Brewers, Baltimore Orioles, Philadelphia Phillies, Houston Astros, Colorado Rockies, and the Boston Red Sox. Plenty of different ways to go when building your lineup, so to help you out, let’s jump into my favorite value options of the day!

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

Reid Detmers, Los Angeles Angels (DraftKings: $8,200 / FanDuel: $9,000)

The schedule has been tough on Reid Detmers, recently having to face the Los Angeles Dodgers, Houston Astros, and Toronto Blue Jays for 3 of his last 4 starts. Over that stretch, he gave up quite a few runs, but the worst being the 7 runs off 3 homers he gave up to the Los Angeles Dodgers; despite the tough opponents, he still has been getting strikeouts with 24 through 19 innings. With an easier matchup today, getting to face the Seattle Mariners, I expect him to have a much better line while still getting a good number of strikeouts.

Bobby Miller, Los Angeles Dodgers (DraftKings: $7,500 / FanDuel: $8,700)

The rookie obviously still has some polishing to do but is still looking good facing major-league hitting. He has a 4.37 ERA, but with a 3.56 xERA and 3.61 FIP, it appears that some bad luck may be keeping that higher than what his true skills are. He also strikes out almost a batter an inning along with that and has a decent WHIP at 1.19. San Diego isn’t the easiest place to pitch, but I trust Bobby’s skills enough to be able to provide some solid value today in this spot.

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Alec Bohm, 1B Philadelphia Phillies (DraftKings: $4,000 / FanDuel: $3,300)

Since the All-Star break, Alec Bohm has slashed .348/.423/.449, and while the slugging may be a little lacking with only 1 homer, he still has been getting his hits and providing value at the plate. He just had a stretch of 10 hits in 4 games, including a homer, a steal, and two doubles, with an OPS of 1.433. I think he can keep up that type of hitting today against Jordan Lyles and the Kansas City Royals

Brice Turang, 2B Milwaukee Brewers (DraftKings: $3,000 / FanDuel: $2,400)

Brice Turang has not had a great season at the plate, with a wRC+ of 63. The rookie sure hasn’t been taking the league by storm with his offense. However, we have seen some flashes of what he can do at the plate, and he is on a bit of a hot streak right now. He has 3 hits, including a homer yesterday, and has 6 hits over his last 3 games and an .896 OPS over his last 10. The upside might not be that high for Turang, but at this price, you don’t need him to do much to be a value, and I think there is a good chance for him to get another multi-hit game today against Quinn Priester

Ryan McMahon, 3B Colorado Rockies (DraftKings: $4,400 / FanDuel: $3,300)

Over his last 10 games, Ryan McMahon has slashed .368/.432/.684 with 3 homers, and while you normally aren’t too excited about Rockies hitters outside of Coors, McMahon is good enough to hit well anywhere. Over his last 5 games on this road stretch, he has raised that slash line to .444/.476/.944 with 2 homers and 3 doubles. He should be able to keep up this good road stretch of hitting today, getting to face the veteran Adam Wainwright

Alec Burleson, 1B/OF St. Louis Cardinals (DraftKings: $2,700 / FanDuel: $2,400)

Alec Burleson has homered in back-to-back games, along with a 3-hit game yesterday against the Minnesota Twins. He has an OPS of 1.114 over his last 10 games and gets a decent matchup today, getting to face Chris Flexen and the Colorado Rockies. He comes very cheap today, and even if he doesn’t make it three straight games with a homer, he should have no problem returning this kind of value at the plate today.
