MLB DFS Value Plays April 7: Top DraftKings & FanDuel Picks
aToday’s MLB DFS slate is a 5-gamer on DraftKings or 6-game slate on FanDuel, so the options are a bit limited in comparison to our fuller slates as there is baseball all throughout the day. We still have a pair of elite arms at our disposal in Brandon Woodruff and Clayton Kershaw. The game between the San Diego Padres and Atlanta Braves is our biggest weather concern on the slate as of right now, but it doesn’t look too bad. Let’s dive into some of my favorite value options of the day and some we can fit into our cash and tournament lineups!
MLB DFS Value Pitchers
Zach Eflin, Tampa Bay Rays (FanDuel: $8,800)
Eflin pitched very well in his Rays debut, firing five innings of one-run ball with five strikeouts in a win. He gets to follow that up with a matchup against the A’s today, so he should be able to keep the momentum going. His ceiling isn’t super high, but he could deliver a strong outing at a cheap price. (Only available on FD).
MacKenzie Gore, Washington Nationals (DraftKings: $6,500)
A Coors Field pitcher?? Maybe it’s crazy, but for a GPP lineup it could be a gamble that pays off. Gore looked tremendous in his first start of the year, holding a tough Braves lineup to just three hits and one run over 5.1 innings of work with six strikeouts. He will likely be low-owned and the Rockies offense is far from a powerhouse.
MLB DFS Value Hitters
Jurickson Profar, OF, Colorado Rockies (DraftKings: $3,700 / FanDuel: $2,900)
Profar is starting to find his groove with hits in back-to-back games after going hitless in his first two games of the season. It is really easy to like a cheap player who is batting leadoff in a game at Coors Field.
Dominic Smith, 1B, Washington Nationals (DraftKings: $3,200 / FanDuel: $3,200)
Smith has looked pretty solid to start the year, hitting .261 (6-23). However, his counting stats haven’t really been there, but today he has a Coors Field game on tap and is facing a terrible pitcher in Urena. I expect to see a much different game between the Nats and Rockies than the 1-0 game that we saw yesterday.
Garrett Mitchell, OF, Milwaukee Brewers (DraftKings: $2,700 / FanDuel: $2,900)
I had Mitchell in here on the day he faced Scherzer and launched a pair of home runs and we are going to continue to ride this hot-swinging rookie. He has a hit in four-straight games, going 6-15 (.400) with three home runs and five RBI over his last four games. He hasn’t stolen a base yet, but that is fully in his capabilities.
Brice Turang, 2B/SS, Milwaukee Brewers (DraftKings: $2,500 / FanDuel: $2,900)
Turang is hitting .313 to begin the year, starting off the season 5-16 with a home run and a pair of stolen bases with five runs scored and five RBI. The Brewers offense is scorching hot right now and I would not be surprised if Flaherty struggles against them today, especially if he walks anywhere near the amount of guys (7) that he did in his last start.
