Tonight’s MLB DFS slate is a 10-gamer on both DraftKings and FanDuel at starts at 7:07 pm ET, excluding the five games that start between 6:10 and 6:40 pm ET. We have Coors Field on the slate, so keep that in mind as it’s always something to be mindful of. We have elite pitching on this slate with guys like Jacob deGrom, Shohei Ohtani, Dustin May, and Corbin Burnes. A nice thing about this slate is that it currently appears that we have no mlb weather concerns. Let’s dive into some of my favorite value options of the day and some we can fit into our cash and tournament lineups!

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

This is the first time writing the Value Vault this season for me where I actually like the pitching value options.

Alek Manoah, Toronto Blue Jays (DraftKings: $7,700)

Manoah has not pitched super well so far, but he’s been fine with a 4.36 ERA and 8 strikeouts across 10.1 innings of work. He got slammed by the Cardinals in his season debut, but bounced back in a big way against the Royals, firing seven shutout innings and giving up just one hit. He should be able to carry that momentum into today’s start against an even worse Tigers lineup. Detroit currently has the second highest strikeout rate in all of baseball.

Pablo Lopez, Minnesota Twins (DraftKings: $7,300)

Lopez has looked incredible thus far for the Twins, giving up just one run across 12.1 innings of work with a 0.73 WHIP and 16 strikeouts. He is averaging 27.9 dk points per game through two starts. The White Sox offense isn’t nearly as threatening with Eloy Jimenez currently hurt and it’s possible that Tim Anderson is out of today’s lineup as well after leaving the game injured yesterday. Lopez has a ton of upside for his price.

MLB DFS Value Hitters

You’re going to see some familiar faces from me here today, but until sites properly adjust their prices, I can’t ignore good cheap players in good spots who are currently hot at the plate.

Francisco Alvarez, C, New York Mets (DraftKings: $2,400 / FanDuel: $2,200)

Alvarez made his season debut on Sunday and finished 1-4 with a RBI single. Nothing overly exciting, but not terrible either. We know he has a ton of pop in his bat, so there is potential for a home run from a punt price. Righties have destroyed Weathers in his career with an .857 OPS, compared to the .761 .OPS (still good) that lefties have produced. Weathers is not very good and the Mets should have no issue with him.

Juan Yepez, 1B/OF, St. Louis Cardinals (DraftKings: 3,000 / FanDuel: $2,600)

Yepez will likely be in the Cardinals lineup tonight with the Red Birds facing a lefty in Freeland. Freeland has pitched very well thus far this season, but for his career he has a 4.69 ERA when pitching at home (compared to 3.72 on the road). Righties have a .783 OPS against him in his career, compared to the .749 mark that lefties have produced. Yepez has power upside and a cheap price tag for a guy playing at Coors Field.

Jarred Kelenic, OF, Seattle Mariners (DraftKings: $3,000 / FanDuel: $2,400)

DFS sites are certainly not buying Kelenic yet as he continues to be priced very cheap, despite a strong start to the season. He is currently hitting .300 with a .844 OPS. He hit a game-tying home run in the 9th inning last night and has already stolen a pair of bases this season. He has a .686 road OPS for his career, compared to .525 at home, so this game being away from Seattle is a nice bonus. As of right now, it appears that there will be a 9mph wind blowing out to slightly right center field, which is a nice bonus as well.

Jordan Walker, OF, St. Louis Cardinals (DraftKings: $2,900)

Walker has opened up his MLB career on a 10-game hitting streak as he is currently hitting .342 with a .943 OPS. He has two home runs, a steal, and eight RBI. He continues to bat near the bottom of the Cardinals lineup (which is gross), but it hasn’t impacted him from a fantasy perspective. He is too good, too cheap, and too valuable playing at Coors Field to ignore him for tonight’s slate. And as started in Yepez’s section, righties have done more damage against Freeland and he has struggled at home.

Garrett Mitchell, OF, Milwaukee Brewers (DraftKings: $2,900)

Mitchell is currently hitting .300 with an OPS of 1.064. He has three home runs and 12 total R/RBI through nine games played. He hasn’t stolen a base yet, but he’s fully capable of that as well.. I have said it time and time again, but players who possess a power/speed upside are great for DFS as they offer multiple ways to provide you with a good DFS day.
