MLB Player Props Underdog Fantasy August 19

Blake Snell OVER 7.5 Strikeouts

All year long, we’ve touted the fact that the Washington Nationals are a very difficult team to strike out and are always pests when using pitchers against them. They proceeded to trade Juan Soto and Josh Bell and everything changed. Since the start of August, the Nationals have a 27.4% K-rate against left-handed pitching.

Blake Snell is taking the mound against them here. Since the All-Star break, Snell has been a different beast. The San Diego Padres lefty has a 35.5% K-rate and in August alone, it’s 39.7%. The guy’s on an absolute heater outside of one start in Coors Field. Snell has gone over this number for three consecutive starts and has topped 10 strikeouts in three of his last eight outings.

LaMonte Wade Jr. OVER 1.5 Total Bases

It’s been a really good showing from LaMonte Wade Jr. lately, especially in the power department. He has seven hits over his last 10 games and all seven have been for extra bases while five have left the yard. All of his damage has come off righties, posting a .526 SLG%, .309 ISO, and .372 wOBA in the split.

Wade Jr. matches up with José Ureña, who’s drawing another start at Coors Field. Urena has pitched to a 5.57 ERA at home this year and opponents have a .310/.378/.506 slash against him. Lefties have given Urena so many issues this season as they’re batting .324 with a .384 wOBA against him. Fire up Wade Jr. everywhere today, especially if he’s hitting in in the leadoff spot in the San Francisco Giants lineup.
