The Angels do two things really well, the first being hit home runs and the second being that they strike out a lot. We liked the Luis L. Ortiz strikeout projection last night and he unfortunately fell just shy, finishing with five strikeouts over six innings.

Today, we look at Slade Cecconi who has a 31.1% strikeout rate with a K/9 of 11.45 over his first two starts of the season. Again, the Angels have the highest strikeout rate in baseball against right-handed pitching this season at 26.8%.

This feels like a good spot for Cecconi to once again put his strikeout upside on display.

 

 

Antonio Senzatela Underdog MLB Pick: Higher Than 3.5 Earned Runs

Senzatela this season has a 6.50 ERA over 11 starts with a 6.67 xERA suggesting that he’s not even getting unlucky. He has an incredibly low 4.83 K/9 with an 11% strikeout rate.

Balls will be put in play today and the Mets have a ton of hitters capable of putting the ball over the fence.
