Robbie Ray MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 6.5 Strikeouts

So much for offense, right? Vegas already has this line set at -140 and the White Sox have been absolutely brutal against lefthanded pitchers this season. The .289 wOBA against southpaws isn’t instilling any sort of fear and neither is the fact that this team has lost three of their last four and have been held to one run or fewer in each of the three. But add to that a strikeout rate of 26.7-percent against lefties, and we’re kicking it into high=gear with Ray who has posted seven or more strikeouts in six of his last eight starts and in eight of his last 11.    

 

 

 

Jonathan Aranda MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI

If you’ve been tracking my picks throughout the season, then you should have expected to see Aranda’s name here. He’s been one of the most consistent lefthanded hitters and has been absolutely destroying righties with a .332 average with a .405 wOBA and .403 BABIP. He is currently riding a 12-game hit streak where he’s batting .396 with one home run, five RBI and eight runs scored and he’s cleared the 1.5 HRR in eight of those games. The Orioles have righthander Zach Eflin on the mound and he’s allowing lefties to post a .438 wOBA against him. Will Aranda deliver? I’m banking on it.        

 

 

 

Caleb Durbin MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 0.5 Total Bases

OK, we’re going to try and sneak one in here to get a higher payout for a three-legger and go with the righthanded Durbin against fellow righty Antonio Senzatela. There’s some risk here, so if you just stay with the first two picks, it is totally understandable. We’re taking a little bit of a shot because Vegas has this line at -190, so I wanted to lean into it for a third pick. Now, Durbin clearly hits lefties better than righties, but Senzatela is also allowing a .394 wOBA to righthanded hitters and, quietly and without much fanfare, Durbin has been on a nice, five-game hit streak that has him batting .500 with one home run, four RBI and six runs scored. We’re not asking for much – just a hit. I believe we get it.
