Drew Rasmussen MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 5.5 Strikeouts

The Los Angeles Angels have been striking out a ton all season. It continues to be a profitable matchup to target for opposing pitchers and their strikeout props. Let’s do it again with Drew Rasmussen on Saturday afternoon. 

The Angels have a league-high 25.9% strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this year. Their .225 batting average vs. righties is also the third-worst mark in the majors. Over the past two weeks in the split, the Los Angeles lineup has a 24.3% K rate (fourth-highest in MLB) with just a 6.4% walk rate (third-lowest) and .213 batting average. 

It’s an ideal matchup for Rasmussen to rack up strikeouts. On the surface, his 23.4% strikeout rate this season isn’t anything special. However, the Rays’ right-hander should still get to six or more punchouts. He’s struck out at least six batters in six of his last nine starts coming into this outing. 

Plus, it helps that Rasmussen is pitching very well this year. He boasts a 2.78 ERA and 0.98 WHIP over 10 starts thus far. The Tampa Bay righty also owns an elite 4.6% walk rate, which ranks second among all qualified MLB starters. That gives him more strikeout potential against an Angels offense that doesn’t walk often. 

 

 

 

Andy Pages MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBI

Just as everyone predicted, Andy Pages has been the best hitter for the Los Angeles Dodgers this season. He was on fire to begin the year, but cooled off a bit in May. Recently, though, Pages has picked it back up. Let’s back him to keep it going in Saturday’s matchup. 

The Dodgers’ center fielder boasts .952 OPS over the past 12 games. He’s also put up at least two combined hits, runs, and RBI in 8-of-12 games during this stretch. Plus, Pages is batting .340 with a .985 OPS at home this year. 

Jesus Luzardo will get the start for the Philadelphia Phillies. The left-hander has been better lately, but he still owns a 4.38 ERA on the season. He’s capable of a blowup outing, as he’s allowed five or more runs in four different starts already. Luzardo will have his hands full with the Dodgers lineup on the road tonight. 

Pages should play a key role in the run-producing. He’s hitting .326 with a 1.025 OPS against left-handed pitching this season. Against lefties at home, Pages has put up a .375 average with a 1.199 OPS and .417 ISO. Luzardo, meanwhile, is allowing a .273 batting average and .745 OPS to righty hitters so far. It sets up for Pages to do some damage.
