The Rockies have been a punching bag for some time, but they do one thing well and one thing only: hit left-handed pitching. They hit lefties HARD and for power, too. Since the All-Star break, the Rockies have a .197 ISO against lefties, which ranks sixth in the league. It’s a small sample since the break in Coors, but they have a .246 ISO there, and it’s a .167 ISO at home this year against southpaws as a whole. ERod has struggled this year, posting a 5.68 ERA, and has struggled against both splits as lefties are hitting .364 while righties are at .291. After pitching to a 1.98 ERA in June, he had a 7.4 ERA in July, and so far in August, he’s at a 6.1. He’s been bad and now has to navigate Coors Field? Yikes.
