Corbin Carroll MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 1.5 Total Bases

With a very hittable Aaron Nola on the mound for the Phillies, we’ll turn to Arizona’s premier leadoff man to find his way on base today. Nola did turn in a quality start his last time out, but it was legitimately his only good outing of the season. Can he do it again or will he go back to the pitcher we’ve been happily targeting against? I’m guessing the latter. Nola is allowing lefthanded hitters to post a .383 wOBA against him while Carroll is posting a ridiculous .446 wOBA against righthanded pitching. It’s the irresistible force meting a VERY movable object so we’ll jump onboard.   

 

 

Alex Bregman MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 1.5 Total Bases

Now that Bobby Witt’s hit streak has ended, we can turn out attention to Bregman, who is currently riding a 12-game hit streak in which he’s slashing .396/.473/.771 with four home runs and 11 RBI. During this streak, he’s got six multi-hit games and six doubles, including a double in each of his last two games. Bailey Ober continues to pitch to a lot of contact, so we’re going to keep riding Bregman’s streak.

 

 

Michael Toglia MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 0.5 Total Bases

Yes, indeed. We have a very flawed hitter. Strikeouts continue to be a massive problem. But I’m also not enamored with Jordan Hicks and the way he’s been throwing and with the line just at a half for total bases, we just need a hit. One hit. That’s all we’re asking. Nothing more. Toglia is a switch-hitter who will bat from the left side against Hicks and he happens to be better from the left. Just a .301 wOBA against righties, but really, that’s massively better than the him batting from the right side of the plate. On top of that, Hicks is allowing lefthanded hitters to post a .393 wOBA against him. Just one hit, baby! That’s all we need!
