Fantasy Baseball 2026 Two-Start Pitchers & Streaming Starters - 5/9
This week delivers a spectrum of Fantasy Baseball 2026 Two-Start Pitchers to consider for your Week 8 pitching options. There is a solid bunch of top-tier dual start aces to use, if you are fortunate enough to have them gracing your roster, but there are finally a decent-sized middle group of two-start SPs, as well. No surprise that there are several bottom tier arms to avoid, despite having two-start eligibility this scoring period.
Instead of taking a chance on any of those aforementioned bottom-tier arms, look to the Fantasy Baseball 2026 Streaming Starters profiled in the second part of this article. There should be some available hurlers that could provide some fantasy baseball goodness on your league’s waiver wire.
Please realize that these articles feature the most recent rotation information available at the time they are written, but circumstances can change due to weather conditions, injuries, and general craziness with managers. If a pitcher listed here as having two starts ends up with one (or perhaps none) in the upcoming week, apologies, but this article is meant to provide analysis; it is up to the manager to set the lineups or rotations.
Without further ado, here are this week’s two start pitchers:

Ritchie needs to get his control under control, as the free passes he is handing out are increasing even as his ability to miss bats is fading. He has a pair of home starts on the table for Week 8, and he does start for an impressive team thus far in 2026.
Soroka bounced back from his worst outing of the season, although he was stuck with an unlucky loss. He held the visiting Pittsburgh squad to just one earned run, scored via a solo dinger to Brandon Lowe. His previous disaster where he allowed eight earned runs to the Brewers was hopefully an aberration, and he can get back to pitching effectively, and rack up plenty of Ks (10.2 K/9 over 37.0 IP). He has a pair of good matchups on the calendar, albeit both on the road.
Cantillo has seen his strikeouts drop dramatically over his last two trips to the hill, rolling up just three Ks over his last 9.0 IP. That is concerning, as is his lack of control over that stretch, having passed out six free passes to the host A’s and Royals. The propensity to hand out walks has bloated his WHIP to 1.37, although his ERA is still acceptable at 3.43 currently. Perhaps having a pair of home starts is the tonic he needs to rediscover his early season dominance and command.
Springs brings an appealing stat line into Week 8’s dual start service, with a 3.89 ERA and 1.14 WHIP accumulated over 44.0 IP, with a not too shabby 39:12 K/BB ratio. He has also lasted at least five innings in all but one of his starts, the shortened effort due to a sore hip which has been resolved. He has a pair of home starts on tap, but truth be told, it’d be better for him to be plying his trade on the road, given his home/road splits. Then again, his team is playing well this season, so that is a plus.
Pallante has been an inconsistent SP for the Cards, looking good one start, then not exactly the picture of effective mound-work the next. He has been more effective when pitching on the road, so his first start against the host A’s promises to be his better appearance in this two-start week, although the Royals are not a strong road team thus far in 2026, so using him for both his scheduled trips to the mound has some cachet.
Rea has been valuable over his last six outings, despite one shortened start where the Dodgers torched him for six earned runs over 3.1 IP. Even with that loss to the Dodgers factored in, he has gone 4-1 with an acceptable 3.98 ERA over those 31.2 IP. It would be better were he to be taking to the hill at Wrigley Field this coming scoring period, but he has only had one awful road start in Dodger Stadium, which is not a rarity for visiting pitchers.
Fedde has a couple of home contests on the slate for his Week 8 starts, and that plays into his strength, in terms of a lopsided home/road split profile this season. He had been pitching well until his recent three homer loss on the road in Anaheim and will look to reignite his effectiveness at Rate Field.
Woo had struggled through a pair of appearances, yielding 13 earned tallies, and of more concern, six homers in those two contests, before righting the ship with a shutout 6.0 IP effort against the visiting Braves team, who he limited to a single hit and two walks, while collecting nine Ks. Despite being a road contest, taking on the Astros in Houston at Daikin Park looks promising, and then he gets to face the more concerning Padres but at home.
Ober has strung together a series of three consecutive QS prior to being handed a loss by the host Nationals, where the 30-year-old righty was touched for five earned runs on six hits, including a homer, and two walks. That loss bloated his ERA to 4.19, although his WHIP is still a respectable 1.19 over his 43.0 IP. He gets to toe the rubber at Target Field for his two upcoming times on the hill, which is a definite positive for him given his home/road splits this season so far.

Not nearly as many arms to avoid as there have been in previous seeks, but the advice still holds: despite their two-start status, you are best served not relying on these arms when setting your Week 8 rotations. If you need a streaming start or two, look at the next section of this article where streaming options with but one start in the scoring period are profiled.
Potential Streaming Options for Week 8
There is no promise that each game day will provide a streaming option. First of all, the pitcher must be available in at least 50% of leagues to be a viable candidate to snag off the wire. Then, the pitchers discussed above are not included as they have a different sort of value, even though some might be available as free agents in your league. Plus, some days the matchups and/or venues just do not figure as positive enough factors to favor plugging the arm into your rotation, even for one start. That all being said, here are this week’s best Fantasy Baseball 2026 Streaming Starters candidates:
Tuesday, May 12, 2026
Griffin Jax, Tampa Bay Rays @ Toronto Blue Jays
Patrick Corbin, Toronto Blue Jays vs. Tampa Bay Rays
Week 8’s streaming options open with a game where both scheduled SPs are of interest for fantasy baseball managers searching for pitching help. The Tampa Bay hurler, Jax, is being stretched out to help fill the Rays’ rotation, which has been depleted due to injuries. Perhaps by the time this start rolls around, he will be ready to go long enough to quality for a victory. He has the ability to miss enough bats to make his strikeout numbers useful.
On the other side of the field, Corbin has been pitching deep enough into his scheduled starts to qualify for decisions, although he has gone 1-1 with four no decisions over his six starts this season thus far. He offers average strikeout potential, and good control, along with useful ratios: 3.60 ERA, 1.27 WHIP through his 30 IP. As the starter taking the hill at home, the veteran southpaw is potentially the better streaming option among the two SPs toeing the rubber in this contest, although the Rays’ righty offers better K production opportunity.

Martin Perez, Atlanta Braves vs. Chicago Cubs
On the surface, the veteran southpaw appears to be a solid streaming option. Looking into his peripheral metrics, however, makes for some concern about his 2.38 ERA and 1.00 WHIP remaining intact. His LOB %, BABIP and FIP all allude to negative regression in his future. He does get to take the mound at home for this outing and has been nearly untouchable at Truist Stadium this season.
Jake Irvin, Washington Nationals @ Cincinnati Reds
If you are seeking Ks from your streaming SP, this is a good arm to hang your hopes on, as he is producing strikeouts at a rate of 10.1 K/9 over his 34.2 IP this season to date. His ratios are nothing to crow about, and he is set to pitch in a hitters’ park in this contest. If you need some Ks to pad your counting stats, have at him, but anticipate ratio stat inflation from his efforts on the hill.
Christian Scott, New York Mets vs. Detroit Tigers
Tossing out his first 1.1 IP abbreviated start, he has now put together a pair of good outings: 9.2 IP, 14 Ks, and just three earned tallies allowed. He figures to be a fixed part of the Mets’ rotation, with Kodai Senga now on the IL with a back issue. He gets to face a team that struggles when not playing at home this season in this upcoming contest.

Michael McGreevy, St. Louis Cardinals @ Athletics
Coming off his second consecutive quality start (QS) among his four this season (in seven starts), where he shut out the Dodgers on three hits, he now takes on the surprising Athletic team on the road, but the good news is that his team is playing well away from Busch Stadium early in 2026. Do not bank on a bunch of Ks, but he will likely aid himself by demonstrating continued good control.
Sean Burke, Chicago White Sox vs. Kansas City Royals
In his three most recent starts, the 26-year-old right hander has twirled three QS and two victories. He has allowed just two earned runs over those 19.1 IP and owns a 15:2 K/BB ratio over that stretch. Kansas City struggles when playing away from Kauffman Stadium, which plays to the Pale Hose hurler’s strengths. He has also been adept at keeping the ball in the park for the most part, and his home park will aid with that tendency.
Connor Prielipp, Minnesota Twins vs. Miami Marlins
The rookie southpaw has yet to pitch past the fifth inning in his three starts, but he has been effective when atop the hill, posting a useful 3.86 ERA and 0.93 WHIP over his 14.0 IP. He is striking out better than a hitter per inning but is allowing a few too many free passes to be dominant (3.2 BB/9 rate). His opponent prefers to play in Miami, so getting them at Target Field is a bonus.
Griffin Canning, San Diego Padres @ Milwaukee Brewers
The veteran righty was solid in his season debut, holding the White Sox to a single earned run over 5.0 IP, while also collecting seven Ks. He walked three Chicago hitters, a blemish on his initial time toeing the rubber for his new team. He is coming off an Achilles tear he suffered in 2025 and is probably a game or two away from being fully stretched out, so expect another one or two shortened stints from him.
Friday, May 15, 2026
Tyler Mahle, San Francisco Giants @ Athletics
Aaron Civale, Athletics vs. San Francisco Giants
The second matchup where both SPs are favored for streaming usage, the Giant hurler has been working diligently to reduce his ugly ERA from 7.53 in mid-April to a still unattractive 5.00 after his 5.1 shutout innings against the host Rays. He has compiled a 2.60 ERA and 1.10 WHIP over his last 17.1 IP.
Civale tossed his first QS of the season against the visiting Guardian squad in his last outing, allowing one earned run on a round tripper. He continues to strikeout opposing hitters at a below league average rate (6.6 K/9 through 36.2 IP) but has helped himself by utilizing good control (2.5 BB/9).
Dustin May, St. Louis Cardinals vs. Kansas City Royals
The righty has tossed four QS among his last five appearances, although he is allowing plenty of traffic on the bases, and is not missing as many bats as would be expected with his 97 MPH fastball (6.14 K/9 through his 36.2 IP). He sports an inflated ERA of 5.15 and his WHIP is likewise overblown at 1.53 due to all the hits he has surrendered over the course of his seven starts (47 hits but only nine walks). As noted above, getting the Royals on the road is a positive for any pitcher.
Janson Junk, Miami Marlins @ Tampa Bay Rays
Despite limiting the visiting Phillies to just a single run over his 5.1 IP (a home run to Bryse Harper), he was saddled with his third loss of the season. His fortunes should turn, given his superb ratios: 2.82 ERA, 1.04 WHIP through 38.1 IP to date in 2026. He is not a great source of Ks but has excellent control (1.8 BB/9). Not the ideal matchup here, as the Marlins are a much better team when playing at home, but Junk keeps delivering stellar results on the mound, making him a useful streaming option.
Jack Kochanowicz, Los Angeles Angels vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
Another hurler who has been the victim of some bad luck, the Angel third-year right hander has spun four QS over his last five times atop the hill, compiling a superior 2.56 ERA and 1.11 WHIP over that 31.2 IP stretch. Not a ton of Ks, though, with a pedestrian 5.7 K/9 rate, and the 4.0 BB/9 ratio is not impressive. He is keeping the ball in the yard, having allowed just 2 dingers over his 41.1 IP this season. Not a great matchup but at least he is pitching at home here, where the Angels are marginally better as opposed to playing on the road.
Saturday, May 16, 2026
Eduardo Rodriguez, Arizona Diamondbacks @ Colorado Rockies
The veteran lefty spun an impressive bounce back effort at home against the visiting Pirates, going seven shutout innings and racking up seven Ks. He collected a win and a QS in this effort, but now heads to a tough venue, taking on the Rockies in Coors Field, but if he is over his dip in production that the we saw in the prior three games, he is capable of adding value to your fantasy staff as a useful Fantasy Baseball 2026 Streaming Starter.
