Fantasy Baseball 2026 Two-Start Pitchers & Streaming Starters - 5/23
The end of May brings another full slate of Fantasy Baseball 2026 Two-Start Pitchers that can be useful for your fantasy efforts as we head into final weeks of spring and prepare for summer’s arrival. There are also a nice half dozen arms populating the middle tier, below those 16 arms that have achieved the upper group of dual start SPs. The bottom dozen pitchers should be avoided, as usual.
The second portion of this report sets forth discussion of some Fantasy Baseball 2026 Streaming Starters that can potentially provide some value for your fantasy rotations, at least on a single start basis, although you might want to consider their starts in Week 11 and beyond before you cut them loose.
Please realize that these articles feature the most recent rotation information available at the time they are written, but circumstances can change due to weather conditions, injuries, and general craziness with managers. If a pitcher listed here as having two starts ends up with one (or perhaps none) in the upcoming week, apologies, but this article is meant to provide analysis; it is up to the manager to set the lineups or rotations.
Without further ado, here are this week’s two start pitchers:

These SPs are the prime dual start options available in Week 10, and if you are fortunate enough to have one or more of these hurlers on your roster, plug them in and take advantage of your foresight to draft them or snag them off the wire. Wind ‘em up and let ‘em go is the suggestion.

Matthews has looked sharp in his two outings since being called up to join the Minnesota rotation. He has struck out 11 hits over his 13.0 IP and only allowed one walk to the opposition. He does have to go on the road for his next two starts, and his initial success has all been at home in Target Field, so this will be an interesting test for the young right-hander.
Braddish has been charged with the loss in four of his last five starts, but has been victimized frequently by bad luck. Over his last three trips to toe the rubber, he has posted a respectable 2.45 ERA and excellent 0.93 WHIP while striking fifth out 23 opposing hitters over those 18.1 IP. He has two home starts on tap, and has been much better when on the bump in Baltimore than any other park.
Roupp tossed his fifth quality start (QS) of the season, but took a no-decision despite holding the host Diamondbacks to a single earned run over his 6.0 IP. He gets to face the Arizona team when they come to his home, but his home/road splits indicate his second start of Week 10, despite taking place at Coors Field, plays to his road warrior strengths better.
Jax has been performing well since rejoining the Rays’ rotation in early May, racking up a stellar 1.93 ERA over his last 14.0 IP, and tacking on a useful 1.21 WHIP over that stretch, too. A road game at Camden Yards followed by a home contest against the Angels, who struggle mightily away from Anaheim project positively for the righthander.
Kay has been on a nice run over his last four times on the bump, compiling a 2.11 ERA and 1.17 WHIP over 21.1 IP where he has gone 2-0. A 19:8 K/BB rate indicates an ability to miss bats, but also a need to stop missing the strike zone so often. Two home games on the schedule in Week 10 are favorable when viewing his home/road splits over the season.
Sheehan offers superior strikeout numbers (10.1 K/9 over 45.2 IP in 2026) which helps offset his less that stellar ERA of 4.93. His WHIP is reasonable, sitting at 1.27 over his nine times climbing the mound to start a game. He has a pair of home games and he has been significantly more effective when atop the hill in LA, plus he gets the Rockies to open the week and that team does not do well away from their home field.

This group of SPs may be tempting, due to their dual start status in Week 10, but it is suggested that you not use them for even one start, much less both that they are scheduled to make in the upcoming scoring period. If you are seeking a streaming starter, the next portion of this article contains better options to seek out, to allow you to pump up your counting stats and ratios.
Potential Streaming Options for Week 10
There is no promise that each game day will provide a streaming option. First of all, the pitcher must be available in at least 50% of leagues to be a viable candidate to snag off the wire. Then, the pitchers discussed above are not included as they have a different sort of value, even though some might be available as free agents in your league. Plus, some days the matchups and/or venues just do not figure as positive enough factors to favor plugging the arm into your rotation, even for one start. That all being said, here are this week’s best Fantasy Baseball 2026 Streaming Starters candidates:
Tuesday, May 26, 2026
Luis Severino, Athletics vs. Seattle Mariners
While the veteran hurler may be suffering through a three game losing streak, truth be told, only his last outing was horrible. He had allowed just five earned runs in the four games prior to the debacle against the visiting Giants, and has the potential to put the last effort aside and return to striking out nearly a batter per frame. He does still carry an ugly inflated WHIP with him, due to control issues and an accompanying tendency to give up nearly a hit per inning.
Cade Cavalli, Washington Nationals @ Cleveland Guardians
The 27-year-old right-hander is another SP suffering from an inflated WHIP due to an inability to miss opponents’ bats on a consistent basis, having given up 58 safeties over his 53.2 IP. He does rack up significant Ks while dealing on the hill, with an attractive 10.23 K/9 rate, and his peripheral metrics hint that some positivity may be due in his future, although his road results make this a so-so prospective start. He is a better option when pitching on the Nationals Park hill.
Dustin May, St. Louis Cardinals @ Milwaukee Brewers
The righty’s last four games had been of the QS variety, and those efforts have resulted in May’s ratios trending downward, a positive trend for the 28-year-old veteran. He looked good against the Pirates for five innings but then got touched for two runs in the sixth resulting in his removal and a loss. As with the pitcher profiled immediately above, his peripherals hint at his being somewhat unlucky: .340 BABIP, 3.92 FIP vs 5.00 ERA, 66.2% LOB. A road contest against the Brewers is not an ideal streaming option, but his recent success on the bump does factor into his presence in this week’s discussion.
Wednesday, May 27, 2026
Connor Prielipp, Minnesota Twins @ Chicago White Sox
The Twins’ rookie southpaw makes his third consecutive appearance as a streaming option in this article. He continues to limit runs and finally lasted long enough to claim a QS, limiting the visiting Brewer offense to two runs (one earned) through 6.0 IP. Despite his strikeout potential (10.4 K/9 through his 25.0 IP this season), his team does not do well playing away from Target Field, and the White Sox are showing great improvement this season. Still, good K results and effective mound presence make the lefty a decent streaming option.
Trevor McDonald, San Francisco Giants vs. Arizona Diamondbacks
The young right-hander has been stellar for the Giants since joining the rotation, and is pitching well beyond the level he demonstrated in Triple-A. He has lasted into the seventh inning twice in his three starts in May, and has posted an attractive set of ratios over his 19.0 IP: 2.37 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, while also compiling a 17:3 K/BB ratio. Getting to face the Diamondbacks away from Chase Field is also a positive in the 25-year-old’s favor.
Walker Buehler, San Diego Padres vs. Philadelphia Phillies
The veteran pitcher has used his success in his last two contests to push his ERA down, although it still sits at an inflated 5.01 level. He has been more effective when on the hill at Petco Park, which improves his possibility of enjoying another good outing against the visiting Philadelphia team. He offers decent K production, nothing exceptional, although his peripheral metrics suggest that his overall stat line has the possibility to continue to trend in a positive direction.
Thursday, May 28, 2026
Kai-Wei Teng, Houston Astros @ Texas Rangers
The right-hander has slipped into the Astros’ rotation, due to the many injured SPs currently residing on the IL for Houston. He racked up seven Ks in his most recent time toeing the rubber, a season high which occurred against the opponent in this contest, albeit at home. He brings an attractive set of ratios into this game: 2.61 ERA and 1.10 WHIP.
Friday, May 29, 2026
Roki Sasaki, Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Philadelphia Phillies
The young righty picked up his second win by holding the host Angels to just a single earned run on four hits, striking out eight hitters over 7.0 IP. He also did not issue a free pass, the first time on the hill he has accomplished that feat in 2026. He pitches for the Dodgers, definitely a plus for any streaming option whose ownership percentage makes them potential wire fodder.
Walbert Urena, Los Angeles Angels @ Tampa Bay Rays
The rookie right-hander threw six scoreless frames in his most recent time on the hill, but was only able to collect a QS as he was no-decisioned in the contest. He now has three QS to go with his 1-4 record. He has a tough matchup here, both in terms of his team’s ability to win on the road, and as far as the Rays’ home record of 19-5 to date. Factors to consider if you are seeking a streaming option at the end of this scoring period.
Slade Cecconi, Cleveland Guardians vs. Boston Red Sox
The 26-year-old has had an inconsistent run in the Guardians’ rotation, allowing runs aplenty in half of his 10 starts, and looking quite efficient in the balance of his trips to the bump this season. He is working on a three game streak where his ERA is an attractive 2.16, allowing just four earned runs over those 16.2 IP. The strikeout rate is below average at 7.2 K/9 through his 52.1 IP to date. The Red Sox are not a pushover away from Fenway Park, but then again, the Cleveland squad is playing some excellent baseball at home, as well as on the road.
Stephen Kolek, Kansas City Royals @ Texas Rangers
The 29-year-old right-hander has collected a pair of QS among his three appearances, shutting out the host Cardinals over 6.1 IP in his most recent trip to the mound. His WHIP is a useful 1.00 and the 4.24 ERA is inflated due to a five earned run effort against the host White Sox. His stint as a starter could be short, as Cole Ragans is rehabbing from his elbow impingement, so keep an eye on his status this week.
Saturday, May 30, 2026
Christian Scott, New York Mets vs. Miami Marlins
The second-year starter offers great K production (11.4 K/9 rate over 19.2 IP in 2026), if not anything much else exciting in terms of fantasy value. He has thrown five innings just once in his five starts, and carries an inflated 1.47 WHIP, although his 4.12 ERA is not worthy of alarm. Facing the Marlins away from LoanDepot Park improves his streaming potential.
Kyle Leahy, St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs
The fourth-year SP has notched wins in three of his last four starts, including a QS in his most recent time on the bump against the visiting Royals where he also lowered his ERA to a sub-4.00 level (3.94). The opponent on the schedule is a tough matchup, to be certain, but Leahy has been more effective at Busch Stadium this season.
Brandon Sproat, Milwaukee Brewers @ Houston Astros
The young 25-year-old hurler has had a problem pitching deep enough into games to pick up victories, dealing against the opposition for five innings or more only three times among his seven starts this season. He has been collecting Ks at better than one per frame this year, but his lack of control makes him a risky SP option: 9.1 K/9, 5.1 BB/9 over 40.2 IP. This is a good matchup as the Astros have been struggling this year, and the Brewers have been a force to be reckoned with on the road.
Martin Perez, Atlanta Braves @ Cincinnati Reds
The veteran southpaw hurler has been highly effective for the Braves, as evidenced by his ratios accumulated over six starts and four relief appearances: 2.85 ERA and 1.00 WHIP over his 41.0 IP to date. A 38:13 K/BB ratio is indicative of proficient work on the mound. His home results are exceptional, but this game is at The Great American Ballpark, certainly a hitter’s park which could limit his usefulness in this particular contest. Then again, he does pitch for the team with the most victories in the majors.
