Another week to consider the wealth of Fantasy Baseball 2025 Two-Start Pitchers available to insert in your rotations, depending upon just how savvy you were at the draft or during these early weeks harvesting from the waiver wire or free agent market. There is certainly a veritable boatload of aces for your Week 6 fantasy action, although the middle tier is again not overly populated with options.

The veritable dearth of bottom-tier arms is an oddity that will not likely be repeated often as the season progresses. Regarding the second half of this week’s report, there are choices of Fantasy Baseball 2025 Two-Start Pitchers nearly every day of the coming scoring period, except Sunday…and that may change as the week progresses and rotations are adjusted, so keep your radar on to locate those streaming options.

Plenty of aces to plug into your rotations this particular scoring period, which is a wonderful experience as well as at times a burden if you need to make tough choices among those hurlers you have at your disposal. That is an inconvenience that should be embraced, not shied away from…always better to have more resources at hand than less, even if we sometimes have to make tough choices due to inning or start limits.

Ragans is not a sure thing as a two-start option in Week 6, as a groin strain caused him to be removed after three innings against the visiting Colorado Rockies. It does not look as though he will hit the IL, though, and if he can go and scrape the slab, he gets the White Sox at home to open Week 6. He is offering tremendous K production with excellent control: 46:9 K/BB ratio over his 30.2 IP, and while his ERA is a bit elevated at 4.40, the 1.17 WHIP is enticing.

Gonsolin returned to action, spinning a quality start (QS) against the Marlins, striking out nine. No reason he will not slot right into the Dodger rotation with their various injured SPs (Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow, Clayton Kershaw) unable to provide innings. He does have to toe the rubber on the road for both his scheduled Week 6 starts, but the first outing is against the Marlins who he just handled nicely.

The veteran southpaw Anderson has now spun three consecutive QS, yet only has one win to show for his superior mound efforts. He has yet to allow more than three earned tallies in an outing this season, and his ratios reflect his skill set: 2.67 ERA, 1.04 WHIP over his accumulated 33.2 IP in 2025. He has a pair of home contests on the schedule, although his home/road splits indicate he is happy to scrape the slab in any venue. Beware, though, because his peripherals are not indicating that all will continue to be rosy for him, and some negative regression may be in his future: 5.13 FIP, .169 BABIP, 90.6% LOB.

Smith-Shawver had to leave his most recent start, after being struck on the arm by a batted ball, although he did pick up the victory. He collected five Ks and allowed just four hits and one walk over his 5.1 IP in the contest. Keep an eye on his status, but early reports were that he should make take the ball for his scheduled duo of appearances on the bump for Week 6. The Braves have recovered from their early-season troubles, and the second match-up against the Pirates looks promising, at least in terms of continued K production for the youngster.

Giolito is a bit of a wild-card, being activated after not exactly pitching lights out during his five rehab starts: 5.19 ERA, 1.79 WHIP, 6.8 BB/9. He did collect 17 Ks over his 17.1 IP facing minor league hitters. Neither of his match-ups look fantastic on paper, facing a pair of top-tier SPs, but on the plus side, his team is playing well this season, and the Rangers are scuffling when on the road, the situation for the veteran righty in his first Week 6 appearance.

Ortiz, after three successful outings where he lowered his inflated ERA from 8.44 to a still unattractive 5.48, was unable to pitch through the fifth frame against the visiting Yankees, allowing four earned runs over his 4.1 IP. He did rack up eight Ks, giving him an impressive 26 strikeouts over his last three times atop the hill. Neither of his opponents this coming week are exactly free-swinging offenses, so the one saving grace of collecting whiffs may not be as relevant in Week 6.

Boyd produced a QS against the Dodgers at home, despite not being exceptionally sharp, allowing six runs over all but only three earned (due to his throwing error). He still has a useful 2.54 ERA on the season, but the inflated 1.38 WHIP and his other peripheral metrics (4.03 FIP, 81.5% LOB) hint that he may be due for some negative regression.

Not so many arms to avoid this week, and some might even be worthwhile as “take a chance on me” flyer. Normally it is possible to recommend those SPs facing the White Sox or Rockies, but when the arms are dueling it out on the field, that makes for a tougher election on whom to employ. Look to the opponent and venue when opting for a third-tier pitcher to fill out your rotation, or your ratios may suffer some unnecessary damage, usually at the expense of minimal counting stat value.

Potential Streaming Options for Week 6

There is no promise that each game day will provide a streaming option. First of all, the pitcher must be available in at least 50% of leagues to be a viable candidate to snag off the wire. Then, the pitchers discussed above are not included as they have a different sort of value, even though some might be available as free agents in your league. Plus, some days the matchups and/or venues just do not figure as positive enough factors to favor plugging the arm into your rotation, even for one start. That all being said, here are this week’s best Fantasy Baseball 2025 Streaming Starters:

Miles Mikolas, St. Louis Cardinals vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

The veteran righty is coming off a pair of shutout efforts, coming two outs short of putting together a two consecutive QS streak. He is a horrible K producer, with a meager 4.9 K/9 rate over his six starts (29.0 IP to date), but the recent results give hope for continued success on the bump, especially against the visiting Pirates who are well under .500 away from PNC Park this season so far.

Colin Rea, Chicago Cubs vs. San Francisco Giants

The veteran right-hander has enjoyed a wealth of success while atop the hill, either as a reliever or more recently as a SP, posting a superior 0.96 ERA and 1.07 WHIP, with a stellar 19:3 K/BB ratio over his 18.2 IP. A home match-up against the Giants makes for a tempting streaming opportunity.

Chad Patrick, Milwaukee Brewers vs. Houston Astros

The 26-year-old rookie righty has been tagged with a pair of losses in his last two appearances, despite pitching well. He has given up only five earned tallies over his last 24.2 IP, and has generated 21 Ks over that stretch. The 10 walks have inflated his WHIP (1.26 over those five starts). His upcoming Week 6 start is at home, which plays to his strength in the early going this season.

Steven Matz, St. Louis Cardinals vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

The Cardinals may be moving to a six-man rotation, which opens a spot for the current swingman southpaw, who was sharp in a start against the Cincinnati ball club, scattering five hits over his 4.1 IP. He features a savory 1.50 ERA and 0.96 WHIP with a 20:3 K/BB ratio. Facing the Pirates away from their home park in Pittsburgh is a favorable match-up, given their struggles on the road in 2025 thus far.

Emerson Hancock, Seattle Mariners at Athletics

The 25-year-old third-year righty has twirled a pair of consecutive QS, scattering nine safeties by the Angels with a pair of walks, taking a no-decision in that effort. He is working to drop his ratios to respectable levels after getting banged about in his first start this season where he coughed up six earned tallies in just 0.2 innings! He gets the A’s on the road, but the Athletics have struggled in the early going in their new home park.

Simeon Woods Richardson, Minnesota Twins vs. Baltimore Orioles

The fourth-year righty has some mixed stats, with an inflated 1.44 WHIP but also an acceptable 4.07 ERA. He has held the opposition to just a single earned tally in two of his last three trips to the hill. He has the Orioles coming to town, and the Baltimore Birds are not playing like world-beaters when away from their home park in 2025.

Tomoyuki Sugano, Baltimore Orioles at Minnesota Twins

Despite collecting a season-high eight Ks against the Yankees, he is still producing well-below average K numbers, while continuing to demonstrate excellent control (1.6 BB/9 through 33.0 IP). His team struggles on the road, so expecting a victory at Target Field is not exactly fertile ground for fantasy goodness, but his stat line should be rewarding for his owners.

Davis Martin, Chicago White Sox at Kansas City Royals

It has been difficult to trust the White Sox over this year and last, but the 28-year-old right-hander who has been used in a “bulk” role, coming in for significant IP after the opener is pulled has been effective, as evidenced by his 3.24 ERA over his 33.1 IP. His propensity for generating ground balls serves him well, as does his ability to keep the ball in the yard.

Michael Lorenzen, Kansas City Royals vs. Boston Red Sox

The 33-year-old righty has secured three QS this season among his six trips to the bump in 2025, including two consecutive such outings. He will seek out another QS, as he has been quite effective at home this year. He occasionally racks up better than average K production, and facing the Red Sox should favor that result in this contest as the Boston hitter has accumulated  the third most this season so far.

Patrick Corbin, Texas Rangers at Detroit Tigers

In his four starts this season, he has yet to allow more than three earned runs. He has yet to pitch six innings in a start, as well, but does have two wins to his credit. Facing the Tigers at Comerica Park is not an ideal match-up, to be certain, nor have the Rangers been road warriors this season, so this is not the top streaming option on the books, admittedly.

Zack Littell, Tampa Bay Rays vs. Milwaukee Brewers

The 29-year-old veteran righty finally picked up his first victory of the season, against five consecutive losses. He does have three QS on the season, so has been pitching well enough to not have a boatload of losses weighing him down. The Brewers have struggled on the road in the early going of 2025, so perhaps he can add to his win totals in this contest.

Nick Martinez, Cincinnati Reds at Houston Astros

The veteran righty has been tagged for just three earned tallies over his last two starts, comprising 11.2 IP. The last outing was a QS, but only yielding three Ks. He has been diligently working to reduce his ratios, with his ERA now sitting at 4.68 and his WHIP a still inflated 1.35. The Reds have been a good road team this season in the early going, so a streaming start for Martinez has a modicum of interest if you need a spot start.

Chris Paddack, Minnesota Twins vs. San Francisco Giants

The righty has twirled five innings over each of his last four outings, allowing a total of five earned runs over that stretch of games. Despite his effectiveness on the hill, he has been saddled with an 0-2 record over those four starts. He has been strong on the bump at home, so despite the less than favorable match-up, this start plays into his strength on the mound this season to date.

Logan Evans, Seattle Mariners vs. Toronto Blue Jays

The rookie righty picked up his first MLB victory, going 5.0 IP against the Marlins and holding the Miami offense to just two hits, although one of those was a first inning dinger dished out to Agustin Ramirez. With the injuries suffered by two of the Mariners’ SPs-Logan Gilbert and George Kirby, to name names-so long as he continues to find success on the hill, Evans will likely be available as a streaming option going forward. He does have a six-pitch arsenal to keep hitters off-balance.
