MLB DFS Lineup Picks: Starting Pitchers
MLB DFS Top Pitchers
Zack Wheeler (PHI)
Analysis: The Reds aren't just failing to generate power against righties; they are a high-strikeout offense. Wheeler is carrying an elite 27.3% strikeout rate through 80.0 innings pitched this season. The Reds also rank 26th or worse in OPS, wOBA, and wRC+ against righties this year.
Jacob deGrom (TEX)
Analysis: When a high-strikeout team splits 24.9% of the time against righties, pairing them with an elite swing-and-miss pitcher is DFS 101. Against a bottom-tier offense like the Angels (22nd in wRC+), deGrom is going to get a boatload of ownership.
Justin Wrobleski (LAD)
Analysis: Targeting the Rockies with a talented lefty like Justin Wrobleski is an absolute premier strategy for this slate. The Rockies have an MLB-worst 83 wRC+ and the second-highest strikeout rate in baseball at 25.9%. Wrobleski has the best odds on the slate to pick up a win, better than Jacob deGrom and Zack Wheeler.
MLB DFS Value Pitchers
Taj Bradley (MIN)
Analysis: When an offense is scuffling as badly as Cleveland is against right-handed pitching, ranking 23rd or worse across major foundational metrics like OPS, ISO, wOBA, and wRC+, it creates an amazing opportunity for Taj Bradley today. Bradley is one of the best strikeout arms of the slate only ranking behind Wheeler and deGrom in terms of K-rate this year.
Joey Cantillo (CLE)
Analysis: Spotting Joey Cantillo's pitch-mix evolution is exactly how you uncover major leverage on a DFS slate before the rest of the field catches up. That 12.8% swinging-strike rate is fully backed by his sudden mid-summer turnaround. More curves (one of the best in baseball) less fastballs (one of the worst in the league). The Twins are a bottom-10 offense against left-handers and likely don't have Byron Buxton.
Trevor McDonald (SF)
Analysis: Because his surface-level 4.42 ERA hides his elite 3.88 xERA and 89th-percentile barrel suppression, McDonald will likely command a fraction of the ownership and salary of the slate’s top aces. He struggles against lefties and the Jays don't have any real lefty threats. This ballpark is a big bonus and McDonald is really cheap against a struggling Jays offense.
Top Options For Strikeouts
K-prop lines and value ratings are incorporated below for DFS and prop context. These are the arms building the highest strikeout ceilings on the 9-game slate.
Our model identifies these arms as the highest-ceiling plays for Alt-K lines today:
Jacob deGrom: 30.3% K% (10.8 K/9)
Zack Wheeler: 27.3% K% (9.5 K/9)
Taj Bradley: 26.9% K% (10.4 K/9)
Jose Soriano: 26.2% K% (10 K/9)
Best Odds For A Win
The following MLB DFS picks offer a combination of favorable win odds, sustainable ERA and xFIP metrics, and soft opponent matchups. Each carries K-prop lines worth noting alongside their DFS value at reduced ownership relative to the top tier.
- Justin Wrobleski -115
- Jacob deGrom +128
- Payton Tolle +132
MLB DFS Lineup Picks: Stacks & Hitters
MLB DFS Top Hitters
Shohei Ohtani (1B/OF, LAD) & Max Muncy (3B, LAD)
Analysis: Two elite hitters against right-handed pitching as Ohtani has a .241 ISO, .277 xISO, .412 wOBA, and .437 xwOBA and Muncy has a .223 ISO, .242 xISO, .366 wOBA, .370 xwOBA. Lorenzen has allowed a .275 ISO to lefties this year. Lefty power in Dodger Stadium is great.
Willson Contreras (1B, BOS)
Analysis: Willson Contreras continues to decimate left-handed pitching, all pitching really, but especially lefties. Against lefties he has a .287 ISO, .382 xISO, .407 wOBA, and .448 xwOBA. Noah Shcultz has allowed a .216 ISO with a .339 wOBA to righties.
Brice Turang (2B, MIL) & Jake Bauers (1B/OF, MIL)
Analysis: Hunter Dobbins has struggled with lefties and under the hood it looks even worse. Here are two of the Brewers better left-handed hitting players and both have massive upside.
Bobby Witt (SS, KC)
Analysis: Kodai Senga has been really, really bad and the Mets bullpen has been taxed over the last few games. Righties have a .261 ISO and .362 wOBA against him and you have one of the premier right-handed bats in the league facing him in Bobby Witt
MLB DFS Value Hitters
Garrett Mitchell (OF, MIL)
Analysis: Mitchell has great numbers against righties, he just strikes out a lot. He has a .225 ISO, .265 xISO, .370 wOBA, and .373 xwOBA against righties. He also has a 34.6% K-rate against them.
Alec Bohm (3B, PHI)
Analysis: It's been all power this year for Bohm against left-handed pitching posting a .178 ISO. Bohm faces off against Andrew Abbott who has allowed a .188 xISO and a .365 xwOBA against righties. Plus he has to navigate Great American Smallpark.
Romy Gonzalez (1B/2B, BOS)
Analysis: Gonzalez has had a long history against lefties posting a .978 OPS in 2025 and .879 OPS in ‘24. He has a 1.058 OPS through his first 12 at-bats against lefties this year. It’s his specialty and it's what he does.
Dalton Rushing (C, LAD)
Analysis: Rushing has been a plus offensive player and his price dropped below 4K for really no reason at all. Rushing, against righties this year, has a .258 ISO and .366 wOBA. Love this price/play.
MLB DFS Top Stacks
Primary Stack: Los Angeles Dodgers vs Michael Lorenzen (COL RHP)
Why: Lefties are what have crushed Michael Lorenzen this year and righties have crushed him his whole career, so that's a bad recipe for pitchers; struggling against both splits. Lorenzen has allowed a .275 ISO, .224 xISO, .448 wOBA, and .396 xwOBA to lefties and righties have a .345 wOBA.
Targets: Shohei Ohtani, Max Muncy, Freddie Freeman, Dalton Rushing, Mookie Betts, Kyle Tucker
Primary Stack: Milwaukee Brewers vs Hunter Dobbins (WAS RHP)
Why: The Brewers are an elite stack, especially with the lefties, but with really everyone because although it's a small sample, both splits have been unlucky against him. Lefties have a .171 ISO but .255 xISO, .367 wOBA, and .379 xwOBA against him. Righties have a .194 ISO and .333 xwOBA.
Targets: Jake Bauers, Brice Turang, Garrett Mitchell, Christian Yelich, William Contreras, Luis Lara
“Contrarian” Stack: Philadelphia Phillies vs Andrew Abbott (CIN LHP)
Why: Andrew Abbott has struggled at home and home is where this game is being played. Great American Park is one of the leagues best parks to hit in and Abbott has a 4.75 ERA at home and a 3.04 ERA on the road. Philly has been decent against left-handed pitching and has a LOT of thump for a small ballpark.
Targets: Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, Alec Bohm, Derek Hill, Edmundo Sosa
"Contrarian" Stack: Boston Red Sox vs Noah Schultz (CWS LHP)
Why: The Red Sox are a plus offense against left-handed pitching (6th in wRC+) this year despite just not being a plus offense as a whole. They face Noah Schultz today who's had troubles against righties (.216 ISO, .339 wOBA) and has actually gotten quite lucky against lefties (.036 ISO, .207 xISO, .279 wOBA, .408 xwOBA, .190 BABIP).
Targets: Willson Contreras, Romy Gonzalez, Ceddanne Rafaela, Wilyer Abreu, Caleb Durbin, Anthony Seigler
MLB DFS Lineups: Core MLB DFS Hitters & Pitchers
| The "Chalk" (Popular) | The "Pivot" (Low Owned) | The Winning Logic |
| deGrom (SP, chalk) | Wheeler (SP, lower owned) | Always a case for a stud SP at 2x less ownership. Always. |
| Phillies (Chalk) | Red Sox (pivot stack) | 6th best offense vs. LHP in good spot & really cheap. |
| Turner + Schwarber (chalk) | Contreras + Gonzalez (lower owned) | Red Sox are cheap and elite versus lefties. Phillies are incredibly expensive. |
