Happy Sunday and welcome to Fantasy Alarm’s MLB DFS Playbook for July 13th, covering the DraftKings and FanDuel main slates!

We've reached the final playbook ahead of the MLB All-Star break!

Our team of experts has poured over the matchups, stats, and trends to bring you a curated selection of top plays and value picks to help you build winning lineups.

Whether you’re chasing big GPP prizes or looking to cash in head-to-heads, we’ve got you covered with insights designed to give you an edge. Let’s dive into today’s slate and get ready to crush it!

This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.

The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.

The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.

The stacks section will bring you our favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

There will also be a daily MLB DFS Show with a variety of hosts ranging from myself, Jon Impemba, Howard Bender, and James Grande. The MLB DFS Show will give you an initial outlook on the day's MLB DFS slate and should give you a good base for the start of your research each day!

Make sure you subscribe to the Fantasy Alarm YouTube channel so you never miss a show! Also, join the Fantasy Alarm Discord to get your DFS lineup questions answered by our MLB DFS team! Plus, as always, be sure to check in with our MLB DFS Tools, with the Daily MLB Projections, MLB DFS Rostership Projections, and our MLB DFS Lineup Generator when building those lineups today to help you decide which players you should be targeting.

MLB DFS Weather Conditions for July 13, 2025

Miami Marlins @ Baltimore Orioles
Isolated showers and thunderstorms can develop this afternoon over the region. There could be a delay if they come directly over the stadium, but the game will still complete.

Colorado Rockies @ Cincinnati Reds
Slim possibility of a short delay from an isolated shower.

Seattle Mariners @ Detroit Tigers
A stray shower or two may happen but is light in coverage and not likely to make it to the ballpark.

New York Mets @ Kansas City Royals
A majority of rain remains southeast of Kansas City. A model sees a couple of light showers moving in close enough to pose a potential delay but a rain-free game is the likely result.

Pittsburgh Pirates @ Minnesota Twins
Right to left winds, slightly off to left field, from yesterday's center field-friendly weather when teams combined for 16 runs on 5 home runs.

Atlanta Braves @ St. Louis Cardinals
Severe weather warning, particularly the time to start. Showers and thunderstorms should persist into mid/late afternoon but not last long. Delay is more likely than postponement is a contingency, but not anticipated. Pregame radar will give better insight.

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Hunter Brown, Houston Astros

He's been one of the elite pitchers in the league this season and he's already had success against the Rangers lineup earlier this season. Yes, the Rangers lineup has woken up a bit as the likes of Corey Seager, Marcus Semien and Wyatt Langford have collectively started to hit but Brown is someone that I'm always willing to bet on.

Freddy Peralta, Milwaukee Brewers

We know Peralta is an elite starting pitcher with strikeout upside but truthfully this is a guy that I just never get right. This matchup against the Nationals should be one that he breezes through as long as he gets by Abrams and Woods and we've seen the Nationals struggle offensively in general. I really like the Brewers today overall and using their starting pitcher should be a popular option today.

Brayan Bello, Boston Red Sox

Fresh off his first career complete game where we saw him strikeout 10 Rockies, Bello has a big price bump today as he draws a start against the Tampa Bay Rays. In the past we've talked about left-handed power giving Bello trouble and this Rays lineup does have plenty of that. We've also recently talked about how Bello had begun to feature a cutter more predominantly in his arsenal, which was true, until his last start agaisnt the Rockies where he went back to the sweeper. With the Rays boasting a lefty heavy lineup it wouldn't shock me to see Bello go back to the cutter where he looks to jam those left-handed hitters as he looks to lead the Red Sox to their 10th straight win.

Nick Martinez, Cincinnati Reds

Speaking of those Colorado Rockies, we have Nick Martinez taking the bump here today. Martinez has shown flashes of elite upside in favorable matchups this season and while the home ballpark does cause some concern, this Rockies lineup is one of the worst we've seen and one that I'd be willing to start almost anyone against.

Eury Perez, Miami Marlins

If you've watched any of the MLB DFS Shows this season then you've seen us talk about the upside of Eury Perez. He was a top 10 prospect in baseball a few seasons ago before his tommy john surgery and is once again the youngest pitcher in the MLB following the demotion of Didier Fuentes. Perez has ELITE stuff and he has been very good over his last two outings. Now, the Orioles will be one of his toughest tests this season but the talent is very real.

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Milwaukee Brewers vs Jake Irvin

I mean, we talk a lot about how all the numbers for Jake Irvin are not good. Lefties hammer him and the numbers against righties aren't looking too good either. The cover of the playbook today is Christian Yelich and that's for good reason as the Brewers outfielder has a .914 OPS and .545 slugging percentage over his last 10 games.

Chicago Cubs vs Will Warren

I'm just always willing to bet on this Cubs lineup. Yes, Will Warren has largely limited the damage against him this season but we did also see him get shelled just two starts ago. He doesn't give up too many home runs and has a ton of strikeout upside but if looking for a low-rostered GPP stack today I really like the Cubs lineup.

Cincinnati Reds vs Austin Gomber

We typically like the Reds against righties but Gomber is a soft tossing southpaw and one that I'm more than comfortable stacking the Reds against today. Building around Elly De La Cruz, Spencer Steer, Austin Hays and Matt McClain will be easy to do.

Miami Marlins vs Brandon Young

We don't often suggest stacking the Marlins but Brandon Young has really struggled against lefties this season, allowing a .327, .545 slugging percentage and .428 wOBA so using Xavier Edwards, Jesus Sanchez and Kyle Stowers as part of a lineup stack today could end up being sneaky.
