Today, we have plenty of talent on the diamond and many different ways to build your lineup. Our expert analysis is here to guide you through the top pitchers, value plays, and stackable offenses to target.

Whether chasing big GPP prizes or grinding cash games, we’ve got you covered with insights tailored to today’s matchups. Let’s jump right into the key plays and strategies to dominate the slate!

This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.

The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.

The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.

The stacks section will bring you are favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers

Let's get into today's core pitching plays for our DFS lineups

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Garrett Crochet, Boston Red Sox

Crochet was threatening a run at the AL Cy Young Award before he ran into trouble against the Guardians and allowed seven runs in his last outing. He is still having an excellent season and has more upside than anyone on the slate with his 30.5% strikeout rate. He gets a tough spot today against a powerful A's lineup, but Crochet is matchup proof and one of the top options on the slate if you have the salary.

Bryan Woo, Seattle Mariners

The control uncharacteristically went a bit sideways for Woo in his last start as he walked three and failed to make it through six innings for just the second time all season. He has been a quality start machine all season long and he should be able to get back on track here against the Cardinals. The Redbirds have been a below average offense against righties this season with an ISO that ranks 28th in baseball. Woo is back on his home mound this evening where he has posted a 2.35 ERA in 76.2 innings this season.

Logan Webb, San Francisco Giants

Webb has his season fully back on track after scuffling a bit in the middle part of the season. He has not allowed more than three runs in any of his last four starts, and he has recorded at least seven strikeouts in three of those outings. Tonight he matches up with the Diamondbacks who are not as scary of a matchup as their overall season numbers suggest. Their lineup falls off pretty quick after the top four, and the back half is littered with high-strikeout bats. Like Woo, Webb strongly prefers his home park where he has delivered a 2.85 ERA across 94.2 innings this season.

Tyler Glasnow, Los Angeles Dodgers

Tyler Glasnow was scratched from his start last week due to back tightness, but he lands in an elite spot against the Rockies tonight. Away from Coors Field, the Rockies own the highest strikeout rate, the second-lowest ISO, and the lowest wOBA in baseball. The back concerns obviously add some risk for Glasnow, but if he is fully healthy he could easily be the top scoring pitcher on the slate, and he comes at a meaningful discount to the other top three arms.

Yu Darvish, San Diego Padres

This matchup against the Reds sets up quite well for Yu Darvish, who has pitched better than his results this season. He owns a 5.75 ERA on the year, but a 3.64 xERA and 4.16 SIERA suggest he has actually been better than league average. This is especially true when we breakdown the splits. Darvish has allowed an ISO above .200 to both sides of the plate this season, but the underlying numbers tell a drastically different story. Against lefties, he has earned that ISO as he owns just a 19.5% strikeout rate and has allowed an 11.5% barrel rate. However, against righties, he owns a 25.5% strikeout rate and 4.5% barrel rate. The splits could hardly be more drastic and yet the results are nearly identical. Darvish should be able to dominate this Reds lineup that only has one lefty power threat in Elly De La Cruz.

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

Let's check out today's core plays to build our lineups around.

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Chase Dollander

The Dodgers torched Chase Dollander last month in Coors Field for seven runs in just 3.2 innings. Dollander has been a far better pitcher on the road this season, but he still has a massive lefty problem. Lefties have lit him up for a .230 ISO while striking out just 14.4% of the time.

The obvious name here is Shohei Ohtani, who is clearly the top overall bat on the slate. Freddie Freeman and Max Muncy, who is expected to return from the IL tonight, are also elite options from the left side. Will Smith has sat out the last four games after taking a foul ball off the hand. He owns an ISO above .200 against righties if he can play. Otherwise, a light-hitting lefty catcher in Ben Rortvedt should be in the lineup. Mookie Betts is back on track with a 124 wRC+ since August 1st. He is coming off consecutive multi-hit games and notched an extra-base hit in each game of the last series. Teoscar Hernandez and Andy Pages boast above average power, and Michael Conforto is a cheap lefty option. The Dodgers are the top stack against Dollander and a bad Rockies bullpen.

Seattle Mariners vs. Miles Mikolas

The Mariners get a prime matchup against veteran Miles Mikolas who owns a 4.89 ERA and has allowed 1.58 HR/9 this season. His strikeout rate is just 14.7% and he has allowed an ISO of .210.

Cal Raleigh has already accomplished unprecedented things for a catcher and is just one home run shy of tying Mickey Mantle's record for home runs by a switch-hitter. Julio Rodriguez has been scorching hot with a .307 ISO and 161 wRC+ in the second half of the season. Randy Arozarena and Eugenio Suarez can be added to the list as elite options, and Josh Naylor and Jorge Polanco are in the mix as well. This is a loaded lineup in a great spot against a struggling pitcher.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Simeon Woods Richardson

The Angels get a matchup against an extreme fly-ball pitcher in Simeon Woods Richardson who has allowed 1.61 HR/9 this season. The Angels happen to rank 2nd in home against right-handed pitching, so they have the fire power to make SWR pay for any mistakes. The top five hitters in the lineup all own an ISO above .200 against RH pitching. Yoan Moncada, Taylor Ward, and Jo Adell are at .230 ISO or better, while Zach Neto and Mike Trout are not far behind. Feel free to chase power upside with individual bats or stack them up and hope for an offensive explosion.

Minnesota Twins vs. Caden Dana

Angels righty Caden Dana is a solid pitching prospect who showed well in his first career start, but he was also hit around and posted a walk rate above 12% at the Triple-A level this season. The weak control makes the Twins a very intriguing GPP stack today. It remains to be seen if Byron Buxton will be in the lineup after exiting yesterday's game following a hit by pitch. Even if he's not in there, the Twins have some high upside bats led by Luke Keaschall, Matt Wallner, and Kody Clemens. Anyone in the lineup beyond that is really cheap and can be included in the stack given the control problems for Dana.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Jacob Latz

The Brewers offense ranks 2nd in wOBA and wRC+ since July 1st and they recently got top hitter Jackson Chourio back from the IL, who missed a month of that stretch. Today, they draw lefty Jacob Latz, who has put together a solid season as a swing-man for the Rangers. However, his peripherals suggest he has been a bit lucky, and the Brewers are simply good enough to beat anyone. Chourio and his .248 ISO against lefties are a big boost to a lineup that has already been performing at an elite level. Andrew Vaughn and William Contreras don't have the strongest numbers against lefties this season, but Vaughn has been a different hitter since joining Milwaukee and Contreras has been better lately. Isaac Collins and Danny Jansen are both in their stronger split and have above average power against lefties, and the same can be said about Andruw Monastario and Blake Perkins in a smaller sample size.
