San Diego Padres @ Philadelphia Phillies

Total: 7.5

Moneyline: Phillies -107

The only game today is Game 3 between the Padres and Phillies in a pivotal game as the series is tied 1-1 currently. Joe Musgrove vs. Ranger Saurez is the pitching matchup we have lined up for this game.

Don't forget to check out the MLB lineups page before locking in MLB daily fantasy lineups. Plus, use the MLB daily projections, our MLB DFS Optimizer, and the rest of our MLB DFS lineup tools before setting your lineups. Now let's look at our MLB DFS top picks for Sunday, October 16.

Captain/MVP

Joe Musgrove, San Diego Padres

Musgrove had a great year with a 2.83 ERA and 197 strikeouts across 194 innings of work. He has been even better over his last 10 games with a 2.62 ERA and 61 Ks across 55 innings. He averaged 20.8 dk ppg on the road this season, compared to 18.1 dk ppg at home.

Ranger Suárez, Philadelphia Phillies

Suarez had a rock solid year with a 3.63 ERA, but that came with a 1.36 WHIP and only 134 Ks across 158.2 innings of work, which really limits his upside. I don’t like him as much as I do Musgrove though, if selecting one pitcher.

Manny Machado, San Diego Padres

Machado had a monster season with a .298 average, 35 home runs, and 9 stolen bases. He is slashing .325/.386/.650 over his last 10 games with three dingers. He slashed .310/.370/.543 on the road this year (while averaging 1.2 dk ppg more per game than on the road), compared to .284/.363/.531 at home.

Utility

Jurickson Profar, San Diego Padres

He slashed .259 with a .352 OBP against lefties this year, compared to .237/ and .322 against righties, respectively (with a similar SLG against both). The Padres leadoff man should be involved in the scoring.

Ha-Seong Kim, San Diego Padres

Kim slashed .270/.369/.396 against southpaws this year, compared to .243/.304/.377 against righties. He also was much better on the road this year, slashing .268/.324/.430, compared to .234/.325/.333 at home.

Brandon Drury, San Diego Padres

Drury had two hits with a home run in Game 2. He slashed .299/.329/.626 against lefties this season, compared to .248/.317/.439 against righties. He is a great play tonight in this spot.

Kyle Schwarber, Philadelphia Phillies

Schwarber is what he is, a bad hitter who hits bombs. He had 47 dingers this season and he has three over his last 10 games (despite a .161 BA in that span). If playing multiple lineups, I would have some with and some without Schwarber and just see if he delivers the home run or not.

Jean Segura, Philadelphia Phillies

Segura played better at home this year, slashing .289/.362/.406, compared to .266/.312/.365 on the road. On top of that, he is 5-15 (.333) against Musgrove in his career. He is on the cheaper side of plays today, which is nice of course.

Brandon Marsh, Philadelphia Phillies

The easy selection for punt play of the day is Marsh as he is very cheap. He is slashing .280/.357/.560 over his last 10 games with a home run and four doubles. He slashed .262/.315/.421 against righties this season, compared to .188/.226/.260 against southpaws.
