MLB Injury Report: Starting Pitchers
Spencer Arrighetti, Houston Astros - Thumb
Arrighetti’s next start will be with the big league club, and per Roster Resource, he’s the tentative starter on Tuesday against the Marlins.
Bryce Miller, Seattle Mariners - Elbow
Miller made his first rehab start on Friday, as he’s working his way back from a bone spur in his pitching elbow. He fired four scoreless innings in that outing.
Michael King, San Diego Padres - Shoulder
King made his first rehab start on Sunday, and allowed six earned runs on four hits while striking out five across 3.1 IP (61 pitches).
Jacob Misiorowski, Milwaukee Brewers - Shin
Misiorowski was placed on the injured list with a shin contusion. I’m sure his shin is bothering him, but there’s the expectation that he’ll only miss two starts, and is it a coincidence that he’s right around his workload from last year? I wouldn’t be surprised if there were some elements of innings management here from Milwaukee, trying to preserve their budding ace for the stretch.
Shane Bieber, Toronto Blue Jays - Elbow
Bieber worked up to 62 pitches on Sunday, striking out six batters over five innings of work.
Michael Lorenzen, Kansas City Royals - Oblique
Barring any setbacks in the coming days, Lorenzen is expected to head out on a rehab assignment this week as he’s progressing from his oblique issue. His last start came on July 6.
Aaron Nola, Philadelphia Phillies - Ankle/Rib
It’s been reported that Nola will need at least three rehab starts before returning. The first one was solid, and his next one is slated for Wednesday. The next one would be in the early part of the following week, so perhaps Nola’s return would be around August 17th.
Taner Houck, Boston Red Sox - Elbow
Houck will have Tommy John surgery, ending his 2025 season, and likely taking up a good chunk of his 2026 season.
Hunter Greene, Cincinnati Reds - Groin
Over 3.1 IP in his rehab start on Sunday, Greene allowed two unearned runs while striking out seven.

MLB Injury Report: Hitters
Aaron Judge, New York Yankees - Elbow
Judge should return to the lineup on either Tuesday or Wednesday and serve as the team’s DH upon his return.
Jackson Chourio, Milwaukee Brewers - Hamstring
Chourio’s hamstring strain is expected to keep him out for at least one month.
Ronald Acuna, Atlanta Braves - Calf
Acuna is dealing with a Grade 1 calf strain, and there’s hope that he can return in two to three weeks.
Jeremy Pena, Houston Astros - Hamstring
Pena just recently returned from a fractured rib, only to leave early the next day with a hamstring cramp. I wouldn’t view it as serious, so think of him as day-to-day at the moment.
Austin Riley, Atlanta Braves - Abdomen
Riley is day-to-day with abdominal discomfort. Riley just spent about two weeks on the IL with a strained abdomen.
George Springer, Toronto Blue Jays - Concussion
It was a scary situation when Springer took a 96mph fastball to the head. He was diagnosed with a concussion, but there’s optimism he can return once he’s eligible.
Max Muncy, Los Angeles Dodgers - Knee
Barring any last-minute setbacks, Muncy is set to return to the Dodgers' lineup at some point this week.
Josh Jung, Texas Rangers - Calf
Jung has missed the last couple of games for Texas with a sore calf. Consider him day to day.
Jonathan Aranda, Tampa Bay Rays - Wrist
Aranda was placed on the IL with a fractured wrist, but there’s hope he can return later in the season. It seems like the Rays will use Yandy Diaz and Brandon Lowe at first base while Aranda is out.
Evan Carter, Texas Rangers - Back
Carter was placed on the injured list with back spasms. Wyatt Langford has started the last two games in center field, with Alejandro Osuna getting the starts in left field (both games against RHP).
Nolan Arenado, St. Louis Cardinals - Shoulder
Arenado was placed on the injured list with a strain in his right shoulder. Nolan Gorman figures to get the majority of the starts at the hot corner during Arenado’s absence.
Byron Buxton, Minnesota Twins - Rib
The hope is that Buxton will return to the lineup on August 6th, which is the date on which he’s eligible to be activated from the IL.
