As bad as it was trying to patch together a starting lineup this week, we’ve made it through Week 8 relatively unscathed. There were only a handful of injuries this week with Ryan Broyles and Brandon Gibson being the only of season ending variety. Now I am sure that Tom Brady, Tony Gonzalez and RGIII owners may disagree with me about making it through but at least you live to fight another week. This week we saw breakout performances by Marvin Jones, Kenny Stills and Andre Ellington. We watched Calvin Johnson and Terrelle Pryor shatter individual records and the Jaguars continue their pace for theirs. Let’s take a look around at everything that happened on this Sunday in Week 8 from a Fantasy Football perspective.

A very questionable call on a fumble against Miami led to a game clinching TD for New England
New England continues to play awful football offensively and got some gifts from Miami to win this game

CJ Spiller was inactive | Kenny Still TD catches of 42 & 69 yards
| Stevie Johnson 14 yard TD reception | ||||
| Jimmy Graham TD catches of 13 & 15 yards | ||||
Notes | |||||
Jimmy Graham played sparingly but still produced a big fantasy game today. He has to start no matter what.
Fred Jackson was hobbling all game. It is only a matter of time before his knee gives out for good this year.
Darren Sproles had 4 receptions for 0 yards today. Anybody want to debate me on him being a RB3 anymore?
It is remarkable how dramatic Marques Colston’s fall has been this year. He may not be long for the NFL.
15 | New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles | 7
Name | Stats | Name | Stats | ||

| Najee Goode 2 yard fumble return for TD | ||||
Notes | |||||
Michael Vick started the game but left twice due to hamstring issues. He left for good in mid 2nd quarter.
This was the first time that the Giants won a game without scoring a TD since 2002.
The Chip Kelly offense doesn’t work without the personnel to run it which without Vick the Eagles don’t.
Eli Manning might not be a top 15 fantasy QB on any given week at this point or going forward.
42 | San Francisco 49ers at Jacksonville Jaguars | 10
Name | Stats | Name | Stats | ||
Colin Kaepernick | 10-16, 164 yards, 1 TD 7-54 yards, 2 TD’s rush | Chad Henne | 29-45, 228 yards, 1 TD

| Frank Gore TD run of 2 & 19 yards | ||||
| Dan Skuta 47 yard fumble return for TD | ||||
Notes | |||||
Despite the great fantasy performance today, Kaepernick remains an erratic passer right now.
Anquan Boldin is just a WR3 and his value could drop more once Mario Manningham returns next week.
Frank Gore is as safe of a play in fantasy football as any RB in the league.
I say it every week but the Jaguars legitimately have zero chance of winning a game this season.
18 | Pittsburgh Steelers at Oakland Raiders | 21
Name | Stats | Name | Stats | ||
Ben Roethlisberger | 29-45, 275 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT | Terrelle Pryor | 10-19, 88 yards, 2 INT 9-106 yards, 1 TD rush

Pryor’s 93 yard TD run set an NFL record for longest TD run by a QB & a Raiders record for longest TD run.
Heath Miller had a TD called back due to an illegal procedure penalty on the Steelers.
2 missed field goals by Shaun Suisham devastated the Steelers today. It was his first 2 misses of the season
It was nice to see McFadden show that he still has some burst left even though it was after a bye week.
9 | New York Jets at Cincinnati Bengals | 49
Name | Stats | Name | Stats | ||
Geno Smith | 20-30, 159 yards, 2 INT | Andy Dalton | 19-30, 325 yards, 5 TD’s, 1 INT

Taylor Mays left game with a shoulder injury | Adam Jones 60 yard INT return for TD
Notes | |||||
Geno Smith was benched in the 4th quarter in favor of Matt Simms due to ineffectiveness.
Marvin Jones is on his way to being a star. He’s moving ahead of Sanu on the depth chart permanently.
The Bengals destroyed the Jets defense with the deep ball. Rookie CB Dee Milner was benched accordingly.
Andy Dalton became only the 3rd Bengals QB in history to throw for 5+ TD’s in a single game.
21 | Washington Redskins at Denver Broncos | 45
Name | Stats | Name | Stats | ||
Robert Griffin III | 15-30, 132 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT 5-7 yards rushing | Peyton Manning | 30-44, 354 yards, 4 TD’s, 3 INT

Roy Helu | 5-11 yards rush 1-14 yards rec | DeMaryius Thomas | 7-75 yards, 1 TD
Pierre Garcon | 7-46 yards | Wes Welker | 6-81 yards, 1 TD
Santana Moss | 2-20 yards | Eric Decker | 4-42 yards

RGIII left game with a left knee injury | Joel Dreesseen 1 yard TD reception
Julius Thomas left game with an ankle injury | Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie 75 yard INT return for TD
Notes | |||||
Despite the numbers Manning looked horrible. He could barely lift his legs. The bye week is perfectly timed.
I hope that you listened to me all week about Roy Helu. Last week’s 3 TD’s were a complete fluke.
RGIII should be fine. His departure was more of a precaution than a real injury to his rebuilt knee.
Both teams combined for 7 turnovers in the 4th quarter alone tying an NFL record.
13 | Atlanta Falcons at Arizona Cardinals | 27
Name | Stats | Name | Stats | ||
Matt Ryan | 34-61, 301 yards, 1 TD, 4 INT | Carson Palmer | 13-18, 172 yards, 2 TD’s, 1 INT

Injuries | Key Plays | ||||
John Abraham left game with a head injury | Andre Ellington 80 yard TD run
| Michael Floyd 15 yard TD reception | ||||
| Drew Davis 4 yard TD reception | ||||
Notes | |||||
Larry Fitzgerald became the youngest NFL receiver to record 800 receptions at just 30 years & 57 days.
The Falcons are in trouble because their O-line is terrible and their offense is too one dimensional.
Steven Jackson was supposed to give them a running threat but he is obviously completely washed up.
Don’t buy into the Cardinals coaches saying they will limit Andre Ellington’s touches. He’s the best they got.
44 | Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings | 31
Name | Stats | Name | Stats | ||
Aaron Rodgers | 24-29, 285 yards, 2 TD’s 6-31 yards rushing | Christian Ponder | 14-21, 145 yards 5-38 yards, 1 TD rushing
