Yusei Kikuchi Chalkboard Fantasy MLB Pick: More Than 6.5 Strikeouts (1.9x)

Has anyone noticed what Yusei Kikuchi has been doing lately? He’s struck out seven or more batters in four straight games, nine or more in three, and has hit double-digits in two of them. Kikuchi faces off against the Rangers, who actually struggle against lefties and strike out a bunch against them. The 23.9% K-rate they have is the 11th highest in the league this year. What has changed? Kikuchi is generating a LOT of swings and misses. He has a 10.5% SwStr on the year, and that’s been boosted by the fact he’s had a 12% mark or better in four straight games, and in three of them he’s had at least 16.5%.

 

 


 

Jonathan Aranda Chalkboard Fantasy MLB Pick: More Than 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBI (1.69x)

This is a dream spot for the Rays and Jonathan Aranda now that the Tigers have announced that they’re going with Keiider Montero as their starter. Montero has not gotten many lefties out this year. He has allowed a .293 ISO, .262 xISO, .439 wOBA, and .396 xwOBA against them this year. Aranda has specialized in hitting righties this year, posting a .195 ISO, .282 xISO, .395 wOBA, and .429 xwOBA against them. I love Aranda in this spot.
