Welcome back to the best stolen base picks for today. We find ourselves in a little bit of a slump the last few days. This is what happens in a high-variance market. Remember, we had a few days where there were fewer than 10 stolen bases in a day, so while odds seem to be more robust for predicting a home run, the stolen base has actually been a lot more elusive over the last few days. Even the players listed with the best possible odds for the day have come up short.  That’s just the way it goes sometimes and why we tell you that betting stolen base props isn’t the ideal way to build your bankroll. Use the daily bets you find in the Bet Tracker to build and once you do, then have some fun with the steals. But let’s not dwell on what was. Let’s talk about what is. With a full slate of games and some interesting pitchers on the mound, we’re excited to dive into the research and deliver the best in MLB stolen base picks today.

Pitchers Most Vulnerable to Stolen Bases Today

When hunting for successful MLB stolen base picks today, targeting the right pitcher is half the battle. The following list is made up of the day’s starting pitchers who have allowed the most stolen bases this season.

Catchers Allowing the Most Stolen Bases

The final piece of the puzzle for finding the best stolen base predictions involves looking behind the dish at catcher pop times and throwing accuracy. How many times teams attempt to steal a base on a particular catcher is a strong indicator of who we expect to see doing the most running today. The following backstops have the lowest Caught Stealing% with a minimum of 10 SB attempts against them.

Best MLB Stolen Base Picks Today:

Locking in the best stolen base predictions means finding the absolute perfect storm of a high-on-base runner and a weak battery. Here are our top two MLB stolen base picks today for Saturday, May 30:

Favorite Bets:

Zach Neto, Los Angeles Angels (+459)

I think we have to go back to the well with Neto again today. We were hoping to see him steal a base yesterday, but he never actually got the opportunity after a two-hit, one walk game. But he’s got 11 hits in his last seven games and he was caught stealing twice in that span, so he’s running. But those catchers who nabbed him (Texas and Detroit) had much better pop times and CS-success rates than either Nick Fortes or Hunter Fedducia. So, with Drew Rasmussen allowing 12 stolen bases this season, most of any pitcher on today’s slate, we’ll look to Neto again today.

Bobby Witt, Kansas City Royals (+283)

The Texas Rangers have released their lineup and it looks like Danny Jansen will be behind the plate today, which immediately puts Witt on our stolen base radar for the day. Jansen’s pop-time and 23-percent caught-stealing rate in 26 attempts is much worse than that of Kyle Higashioka. Combine that with Kumar Rocker allowing seven stolen bases this season, Witt’s 16 steals on the year, his 84-percent success rate on the bases and a dominant sprint speed and we’re ready to lock this pick down.

Longshot:

Konnor Griffin, Pittsburgh Pirates (+558)

Eleven of Griffin’s 14 stolen bases have come against righthanded pitching and this kid is in the zone right now with hits in three-straight games and two steals just yesterday. Twins starter Bailey Ober has allowed seven stolen bases so far this season and Twins backstop, Victor Caratini, continues to struggle throwing out baserunners. Griffin has an elite sprint speed and a 93.3-percent success rate on the bases. I expect him to continue to be aggressive in today’s game and a stolen bases at these odds is just what the doctor ordered.
