It’s finally come. The final Sunday before the NFL takes it over is upon us. That means it’s the last ESPN Sunday Night Baseball matchup that will have all eyes on it, and with it being a classic NL East rivalry, we couldn’t ask for a better one. That also means that we’re here to help make the most of it with our best Braves vs. Phillies predictions.

Whether you’re a fan in Philly or even in Atlanta without legal sports betting, you’ll still be able to make your Braves vs. Phillies picks even more valuable with the guaranteed Novig promo code bonus also shared below!

Braves vs. Phillies Predictions For MLB Sunday Night Baseball

There is no doubt that out of these NL East rivals, the Braves have been the disappointing team. For perspective, Atlanta is now just making sure that they stay out of last place after opening as +110 favorites to win the division ahead of the season.

That said, they at least won their last series prior to this four-game set, while the Phillies were the ones who were swept. They each played other NL East teams as well - the Miami Marlins and New York Mets, respectively. With all that out of the way, there is one component of this series finale specifically that surprised us the most.

That would be the fact that the Braves were deciding between Spencer Strider and Hurston Waldrep for this Sunday Night Football matchup on national TV. In other words, they were deciding between an absolute strikeout monster (Strider) and a relatively unknown second-year starter (Waldrep).

Well, that’s a shock if you haven't been following Strider since his recent elbow surgery. The once dominant starter is just 5-12 with a 4.95 ERA this year, and is coming off four straight losses.

We share all this because the best bet from our Braves vs. Phillies predictions is going to focus on the more consistent part of the matchup, which is Philly lefty starter Jesus Luzardo and the Atlanta lineup.

Braves vs. Phillies Best Bet: Ozzie Albies Over 1.5 Total Bases (+110 at Novig)

Speaking of lefties, the Braves got to see lefty ace Chris Sale return this weekend, but it’s not even the mound at all where our focus lies. While Luzardo is having a solid season, he’s been within one of two of his strikeout prop in 12 of his last 13 starts, so we’re going to avoid that sweat.

Instead, we love getting some plus-money odds with bookmakers still doubting the Braves. We can understand why, and as a team, they’re mediocre at best hitting lefties this year. The season-ending loss of Austin Riley is a blow to that as well, but someone needs to step up.

In that regard, we see Ozzie Albies doing so, and he’s proven to perform against lefties throughout his career. He’s the bright spot of the lineup against southpaws, as the second baseman is remarkable against lefties. In his career, Albies is a .395 hitter against such pitching with a .532 slugging percentage.

That means that he’s more than capable of getting extra bases with just a single swing, which is exactly what we want to see with a total bases pick. Rather than sweating out a winner of Sunday Night Baseball, we’ve got Ozzie Albies over 1.5 total bases (+110 at Novig) as the best bet from our Braves vs. Phillies predictions!

Braves vs. Phillies Injury Report & Starting Pitchers

We mentioned some of the key Braves vs. Phillies injuries already in terms of Atlanta's Chris Sale’s recent return and the season-ending loss of Austin Riley. They’re also without Clay Holmes for a while longer still, and Philly had some of the biggest injury news all season recently.

NL Cy Young candidate Zack Wheeler will miss the rest of the season, and while that is undoubtedly a massive blow, they are otherwise one of the healthiest teams in the league. To reiterate who we WILL see on the diamond, here are the expected Braves vs. Phillies starters for Sunday Night Baseball:
