If you are like me and love the game of football you probably also cannot get enough fantasy football in your life. I've been playing in playoff fantasy football leagues for the last 11 years and have actually had great success in doing so. Playoff leagues are a whole new ballgame, though, because there are a couple very different ways of executing a playoff league.

The most common form of a playoff league is the survivor style setup in which you set a new lineup with each round of the NFL playoffs. The cavaet here is that you are only allowed to use each player one time throughout the playoffs. Thus, if you wanted to use Antonio Brown against the Bengals this week, he will then be ineligible for you even if the Steelers were to advance to the next round. This style is popular because it demonstrates your ability to handicap the playoffs while also strategizing when the right time to use each player really is. Also, once we get down to the conference championship round it becomes a matter of properly utilizing the QB, TE, DST and Kicker positions so that you always have a full lineup.

The other popular form of playoff fantaasy league is a straight up snake draft format in which each owner must choose one player from each NFL playoff team. Obviously, this format has quite a bit of strategy in which you also have to project which teams will play the most games but also whether it is better to take premium players who are likey one and done or marginal players who have a better chance at advancing. Because you have to have a player from each team, you'll have to decide which teams you are going to punt and what value you can squeeze from that situation.

I've gone ahead and ranked the top 60 overall players and DST for the 2016 NFL Playoffs. As you will notice I love the Seahawks as they have a very good chance at playing four games this postseason as do the Chiefs and Steelers. I honestly cannot remember a more wide open field since I've started playing playoff fantasy footbal. There are legitimately three teams with a great chance at making the Super Bowl from the NFC while the AFC is wide open due to the lack of healthy franchise QBs. All of this makes for what should be a very entertaining ride leading up to Super Bowl 50 in San Francisco next month.
