Happy Sunday, ya’ll! We have a four game main slate kicking off at 7:00 pm EST. It’s an interesting slate with not many injured players, at least that we’re still awaiting word on. More value could open up if LeBron James sits, which is possible considering he’s listed as questionable. The problem is we likely won’t know whether James is going to play or not considering this game is at 10:30, three hours after the other three games tip off.
DraftKings
Norman Powell vs. CHA ($5,000)
This price is kind of, well, low. Kind of low is being very generous too. Powell has had a tough go this year with his health, but he’s getting back in the swing of things and looks to be fully healthy. He only played 24 minutes last time out because he wasn’t needed for me, so why push a guy who was previously dealing with an injury? He put up 21.25 DKP in 24 minutes and took 10 shots. Production at it’s finest for a player sitting at 5K! This is a great match-up for Powell and the Blazers as the Hornets rank 24th in DRtg this year.
Josh Jackson vs. BKN ($4,500)
With Cade Cunningham out for Sunday’s game, Jackson should find himself back in the Pistons starting lineup. It’s been up and down for Jackson this year, but in two of his last three games he’s topped 30 FP and now is priced at just 4.4K heading into Sunday’s match-up with Brooklyn. With Cunningham off the floor this year, Jackson has close to a 21% USG rate while averaging .92 FP/min. We need him to score to be effective and the two games in which he has hit and surpassed 30 FP he scored 13 and 18 points.
FanDuel
George Hill vs. UTA ($4,600)
The Bucks have ruled Jrue Holiday out for Sunday’s meeting with the Jazz which frees up Hill for another 25+ minutes. He’s done very well in the starting lineup, notching 20.9 or more FDP in four straight games, has topped 30 minutes in two straight and just provides us with a nice safe floor. Milwaukee has a lot of interesting value options with Brook Lopez and Jrue Holiday out and Hill stands out as the safest of the group. If you’re looking for potential GPP upside, Bobby Portis could be that guy, but Portis played just 15 minutes in his first game back so that’s something we have to monitor before we deploy him in our builds.
Bruce Brown vs. DET ($4,500)
What works in Brown’s favor is the amount of people not available for Brooklyn. We saw him lose some first half run to Paul Millsap the other day when Brooklyn decided to play big but with Millsap out, they don’t have that luxury here. Brown’s played 24 or more minutes in four straight games and has put up 18+ FDP in three of the four, twice hitting the 27 FP mark. Against shooting-guards this year, Detroit ranks 22nd in DvP and are playing the second leg of a back-to-back. This is also some revenge for Brown, so he could look to get his own offense going early and show his old team what they’re missing.
Yahoo!
LaMarcus Aldridge vs. DET ($13)
Some would call this point chasing, but others -- like myself -- would just look at the facts. The fact is, both Nicolas Claxton and Paul Millsap are out today. The Nets don’t extend Blake Griffin often and Aldridge really is the only guy left. He can slot in for Brooklyn at both power-forward and center and is free on all platforms. I touched on point chasing, well, that’s because in his last game, he went for 21 points and eight rebounds across 28 minutes. He’s played north of 20 minutes in three of five games this year and there’s no reason to think he won’t do it again here.
Alperen Sengun vs. LAL ($15)
If LeBron James plays and Kevin Porter Jr. doesn’t, I’d have a hard time believing that the Rockets can keep this game competitive. If it plays out the way I think it will, we could get Sengun’s minutes into the 20’s like it was in his last game and that’s what we love to see. It’s been a teeter totter in terms of fantasy production, but in three of the five games this year, Sengun has put up 27+ Yahoo! points. Remember, Yahoo! uses FanDuel scoring and Sengun has double-digit steals in all but one game this year and really just stuffs the stat sheet while he’s out there. He’s in their regular rotation but will also get some garbage time run if this game is out of hand.
