We have a seven-game main slate unless you’re playing on Yahoo! where they’re excluding the 7:00 pm EST game and cut it to six. We have a slate low total of 206 in Orlando and Toronto and a slate high mark of 223 between the Pacers and Nets. We have a LOT of great value due to injuries and potentially more on the way with statuses of LeBron James and Nikola Jokic in the air. Let’s dive into some of my favorite value options of the slate.
DraftKings
Bruce Brown, SG/SF ($3,800)
It’s not extremely exciting because Brown’s not a very high usage guy. In fact, his usage rate is the lowest amongst all Nets’ starters at 14.6%. He does a lot when he’s on the floor, however, as we saw last game coming away with 12 points, five rebounds, one assist and three steals while knocking down two threes. After not starting the season in the rotation, he’s played 27+ minutes in three straight contests including a season high 35 last time out. This game features a 223 over/under, which is the highest total on the board.
Maxi Kleber, PF/C DAL ($3,300)
Look, it’s extremely hard to look past Kleber’s performance on Thursday’s performance and simply put it on the back burner. Kristaps Porzingis is out on Friday once again, which puts Kleber right back in play here again. Anyone expecting the ceiling game again, let’s pull back the curtain and temper our expectations. That said, he’s good in multiple facets of the game and only needs 17 DKP to reach 5x his salary. He has plenty of upside as we saw and you can play him everywhere, but I like the multi-position eligibility we’re getting on DraftKings for him.
FanDuel
Aaron Gordon, PF DEN ($5,000)
I actually think this play is going to be quite popular despite Gordon showing much of a ceiling since arriving in Denver. He looked really good the last time out and the Nuggets could be without Nikola Jokic tonight. It’s a small sample with Jokic off the floor, but Gordon has a 24.1% USG without him, which is a great number going up against an awful defensive team, missing their starting power-forward.
Luke Kennard, SG/SF LAC ($4,000)
With Marcus Morris ruled out the last two games, we’ve seen Kennard step up and play a big role for the Clippers. He didn’t actually look great last time out, but the key here was that he played 33 minutes. He’s averaged .8 FP/min without Morris on the floor this year and he were to get 30 minutes here and hit that mark, he would crush value. He has upside for much more when his shot is falling and this is a nice pace up spot for the Clippers that they and Kennard should be able to take advantage of.
Yahoo!
Jalen Brunson, PG DAL ($11)
After we didn’t think it could get any better, it got better for Brunson. He’s now gone for 33+ FP in two straight games and has seen his minutes rise over 30 as well. Last year we saw Brunson notch a 22.3% USG when Porzingis was off the floor while averaging .97 FP/min. Well, Damn Daniel he’s back at it again notching a 20.7% USG and is averaging 1.1 FP/min this season. He’s $1 off the minimum on Yahoo! I mean, this is the lock-and-load play of the night.
Nicolas Batum, PF LAC ($11)
I’m not sure we can rely on Batum hoisting 14 shots again, but with Marcus Morris out, there’s no reason to think he’s not going to draw another start and approach 30 minutes again. He’s grabbed four rebounds in all three games, has had at least one assist and is averaging a steal on top of that. Portland ranks 26th against the power-forward spot according to DvP and this is one of the best game environments on the board. Hard to dislike Batum at this price point in any format.
