Fantasy Value Breakdown

Captain

Favorite: Scout (EDG: $12,000) While Scout doesn’t have the highest kill count among LPL mid laners (87) he does have the second highest KDA (6.6) and one of the easier matchups for Wednesday. LGD gets the bulk of their firepower from their jungler Shad0w and their ADC Eric. The other three roles tend to be the point of biggest losing and you see that because of the struggles in the top, middle, and support roles LGD lose most of their matches. Scout has 27% share of his team’s kills and only 15% share of their deaths. He is safe and stays active. You cannot ask for much more in a captain spot.

Value Pick: huanfeng (WBG: $11,100)

Top

Favorite: TheShy (WBG: $6,000) There aren’t any top laners on this slate that make me want to drop big dollars. EDG has used two different top laners and DK’s weakest laner has to be the top lane. With TheShy we can look to historic success as a reason to pick him up. WE also can note there is a minimal (but positive) difference between his FPPG (58.9) and that of his lane opponent bin (55). Equally matched on a better performing team in a tight matchup as well as a player who naturally plays carry champions. Easy pick up here.

Value Pick: DuDu (HLE: $5,400)

Jungle

Favorite: Canyon (DK: $7,200) While I think DWG is a top four team in the LCK, you cannot dispute the fact that they have taken a huge step back from the state they were in the last two years. I think one of the players that has kept them relevant is their jungler, Canyon. He is the second best performing jungler in the LCK with 76 kills, 67 deaths, and 170 assists to his name. LSB is a really weak macro team and that is the core of the the DWG playstyle. They aren’t at risk for getting bullied in lane so they can slowly scale into the late game and I think this is the most probable 2-0 on the slate.

Value Pick: Shad0w (LGD: $5,600)

Mid

Favorite: Lava (BRO: $7,400) I feel like BRO continue to gaslight me. They play well on weeks I fade them and they fall flat on their face against teams they should stomp. Performance being measured by fantasy points, the brightest light on the squad has to be Lava. Even if his top laner or bottom lane fall super far behind, Lava maintains relevance throughout the game. He has the third highest KDA for an LCK mid laner (4.2) and is one of three LCK mid laners who has over 100 kills. HLE can also struggle in the mid lane and Karis can have very high highs and shockingly low lows. Nice pick for a lower price.

Value Pick: Xiaohu (RNG: $7,000)

ADC

Favorite: Viper (EDG: $8,200) I am not in love with this price but I think there is something to be said on how the matchup should play out. Viper rarely straight up wins his lane. We see slower lanes and usually we can find Meiko make a roam to mid lane or into the enemy jungler from time to time. The benefit here is that EDG will out teamfight LGD and this is where Viper picks up the bulk of his 75.3 FPPG. Eric (LGD’s ADC) can be more aggressive in lane but I suspect he will have a hard time connecting on any early kills here. Limit his influence on the lane and Viper should round out into his 3-4 item power spike and find his stride in mid-game teamfights.

Value Pick: Henna (BRO: $7,600)

Support

Favorite: Meiko (EDG: $6,000) The second factor to this bottom lane duo is the engine that I think makes EDG go. He has a 69% team kill participation rate and a 3.8 KDA. He is in the 200+ assist club in the LPL and I think a lot of that comes from his positional awareness. He rarely overextends for fights and that can be really hard on some of his staple picks. Champions like Thresh and Leona (Meiko staples) have the tendency to get a player to play too aggressive. I think he toes that line really well and it is why he is at a 60+ FPPG average.

Value Pick: ON (WBG: $5,000)

Team

Favorite: DWG Kia ($5,600) Best scoring team in the FPPG category going up against the 9th place (out of 10) team in the LCK. DWG has won 8 more games and 3 more series than Liiv SANDBOX. I don’t see too many lanes where I give the nod solidly to LSB over Damwon and that is usually a pretty strong metric when measuring team strength and how well they should control the map.

Value Pick: Royal Never Give Up ($4,800)
