PGA DFS: Valero Texas Open Coverage

PGA DFS players have to wait just one more week before they can look up at the PGA tour leaderboard for The Masters but before getting the PGA DFS picks for The Masters we need first go through what I like to call “Tailgate Week” on the PGA Tour. “Tailgate Week” is the warm-up event for the following week’s major championship.  The Masters is on the horizon and while everyone is excited for that, we’ve got to concentrate on this week's PGA tournament the Valero Texas Open.

Most players that are playing in next week’s Masters are doing one of three things this week.  They are playing in this week’s event as a tune-up to keep their game in tip-top shape.  They are heading to Augusta a week early to get a lay of the land and get settled in for a long couple of weeks.  Lastly, they are going home to rest and practice on their own home courses.

This will be a typical week as far as my coverage of the event.  You’ll see my projections finalized on Wednesday morning.  Then you’ll see my playbook and example lineup article post on Wednesday afternoon.  This tournament will start like most weeks on Thursday morning which means you'll have all day Wednesday to build those lineups using my work on DFSAlarm.com.

I will say the field is better this weekend than I would have expected but there are a lot of guys that need to get their game right before heading to Augusta.  Bryson DeChambeau is the first name that comes to mind but he could win this weekend and I won’t be rostering him at the Masters.
