CBB DFS Picks for Today: Friday, 3/15

Best CBB DFS Plays Today: Guards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
KJ SimpsonCOLWSU900037.65
On the DK slate, we get the Colorado vs Washington State game as the late-night tip. It makes KJ Simpson a strong play as the late-night hammer option. The Buffs’ point guard offers a strong floor/ceiling combo with his stat-stuffing and heavy usage. He’s averaging 19.8 points, 6.4 assists, 6.1 rebounds, and 40 DK over the past 10 games with 40+ DK in 9 of the last 13 contests. He also had 40 DK in both games vs Wash St this season.
Mark SearsBAMAUF890035.85860033.19
We can basically pencil in Mark Sears for 20+ points and 35+ DFS points on a regular basis with how high-scoring Alabama’s games are. Tonight should be another uptempo shootout vs Florida, boasting the highest total of the slate. Sears is averaging 23.2 PPG and 38 DK over the past 10 games, including 39 and 37 DK in two matchups vs the Gators.
Jamal SheadUHTTU810032.77810030.86
Simply put, Jamal Shead is as consistent as it gets for expensive cash guards. The Houston PG now had at least 30 DK in 10 straight games while averaging 15.7 points, 6.8 assists, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.9 steals per game in this stretch. He’s a true stat-stuffer and is a safe option even in a low-scoring game tonight. Shead even exploded for 54 DK vs Texas Tech earlier this year.
Caleb LoveARIZORE740032.89760030.29
Arizona boasts one of the highest projected team totals tonight and Caleb Love should have a lot to do with that scoring. Love was quiet in yesterday’s win vs USC (11 points, 20 DK) but he’s always capable of dropping 20+ points and 35-40 DFS points. He did just that vs Oregon earlier this month and had 36 points with 46 DK in this matchup previously. Love comes at a slight discount compared to other top-tier guards but can outperform any of them.
Tyrece RadfordTA&MUK730028720026.27
Texas A&M gets a notable pace boost vs Kentucky tonight, so it makes both Wade Taylor and Tyrece Radford better plays. As for Radford, he’s playing at a high level right now and can exceed his price tag in the fast-paced setting. He has at least 33 DK in five straight games while averaging 18 points and 9.4 rebounds over this stretch. Radford also went off for 28 points and 45 DK vs Kentucky back in January.
Walter Clayton Jr.UFBAMA700029.38650026.78
If you don’t want to pay all the way up for Mark Sears in this high-scoring Florida vs Alabama game, then the Gators’ guard duo of Walter Clayton and Zyon Pullin are both great options. Pullin is a bit safer for cash with more ancillary stat production, but Clayton continues to be underpriced with how well he’s playing. He’s averaging 19.9 PPG and 32 DK over the past 10 games and posted 51 and 30 DK vs Bama in the regular season.

Latrell Wrightsell Jr.BAMAUF590018.45590016.80
Latrell Wrightsell recently returned from injury and just posted 20 points with 32 DK in the regular-season finale while re-entering the starting lineup. He was a double-digit scorer for Alabama before missing time and now has 32, 30, and 46 DK in his past three full games. Wrightsell is cheap enough to use in GPP lineups for the potential he has another big outing in this high-scoring game, especially if sees more shot volume if Rylan Griffen is out.
Will RichardUFBAMA560021.43520019.61
We mentioned Will Richard as a GPP value play yesterday and he came through big time with 17 points and 34 DK. It’s been up and down for the Florida guard and he’s still hard to trust in cash. Still, the upside is clearly there to exceed value at his cheap mid-5k prices. Richard had 23 points and 34 DK vs Alabama recently and has the ceiling to do that again in a fast-paced matchup.
Manny ObasekiTA&MUK54009.3143008.60
After barely cracking the Texas A&M rotation all season, Manny Obaseki is now playing a key role for the Aggies. He’s started the past four games, has scored double-digit points in five straight, and is taking double-digit shot attempts regularly now. Obaseki has 28, 22, 32, and 14 DK in his four starts and it’s hard to ignore this recent production. He’s especially cheap on FD in a pace-boost matchup.
Xavier JohnsonIUNEB520015.92400014.35
Xavier Johnson returned to Indiana’s starting lineup yesterday and logged 37 minutes with a stuffed stat sheet. He had been coming off the bench since returning from injury, but should be starting again tonight with Trey Galloway possibly out for a second straight game. Johnson likely gets 30+ minutes again in Galloway’s absence and can do enough to return value – especially at just 4k on FD.
Justin EdwardsUKTA&M510017.07470015.96
It took a while, but it seems Justin Edwards is finally becoming a regular contributor for Kentucky. The freshman wing has scored double-digit points in four of the past five games and is averaging 11.6 PPG with 20 DK over the past 10 contests. His minutes and shot volume are still very volatile, but he’s been much more productive over the past month than we saw all season. Edwards is worth a GPP flier in a high-scoring game tonight.

Kel'el WareIUNEB940036.1900033.77
Kel’el Ware continues to live up to his expensive price tags after posting 18 points, 14 rebounds, and 47 DK yesterday. The Indiana center is now averaging 44 DK over the past eight games with four 50-burgers in this stretch. He’s a double-double machine right now and the Indiana offense is running heavily through him. Ware had 43 and 41 DK vs Nebraska this year and can do it again or better tonight.
Josh OduroPROVMARQ840032.22800030.30
Josh Oduro continues to be a consistently strong cash forward. The Providence big man now has 30+ DK in 14 of the last 16 games and is averaging 18.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 35 DK over the past 10 contests. The Friars offense is leaning heavily on him and Devin Carter with both bringing safe floors to lineups. Oduro is notably cheaper and he should continue producing tonight.
Tyrese SamuelUFBAMA720030.22730028.38
Tyrese Samuel is pretty affordable in the high-priced forward tier for a guy who can either match or outperform some more expensive options. The Florida center is averaging 15.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 30 DK over the past 10 games and has the upside for more when he’s dominating the paint. He can do that against Alabama’s weaker interior. Samuel had 38 and 32 DK vs Bama in the regular season.
Jamison BattleOSUIL710024.6
In yesterday’s win vs Iowa, Jamison Battle had a big game with 23 points and 37 DK. He’s shown this upside before at his best and it gives him plenty of GPP upside. He went off for 21 points and 32 DK vs Illinois earlier this season too. Battle’s real-life and DFS production are way too inconsistent to trust in cash but the GPP ceiling is there to smash on the DK slate.
Armando BacotUNCPITT690032.82700030.75
Since he’s been slightly underperforming stat-wise lately, Armando Bacot is very cheap tonight. He makes for an excellent upside GPP play if you want to buy low on a guy who can easily go off for a 20-point double-double and break the slate. Bacot had 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 39 DK vs Pitt earlier this season and has the notable talent advantage in this matchup.

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Alex CondonUFBAMA570019.91470018.58
Alex Condon’s part-time minutes cap his DFS value, but he’s still been a solid cheap play recently. The Florida big man is averaging 7.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 18 DK over the past 10 games with the upside for a 20-25 DFS outing at his best. At least it seems Condon is a bigger part of the Gators’ frontcourt rotation than Micah Handlogten right now. Condon had 24 DK vs Alabama earlier this month.
David JoplinMARQPROV560019.64480017.80
David Joplin was clutch for Marquette last night with 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 27 DK in the OT win vs Villanova. He’s in a slightly bigger offensive role now with Tyler Kolek out and it gives him more GPP upside. Joplin had 21 points and 30 DK in a recent game without Kolek as well. He’s cheap enough tonight to roster in GPP lineups.
Josiah AllickNEBIU550017.02490016.24
Against Indiana’s taller lineup, Nebraska will likely need Josiah Allick more than usual tonight. The senior big man played 28 minutes in both regular-season matchups vs IU – posting 21 and 18 DK in those games. Allick’s production has been inconsistent this season but he does have 21+ DK in four of the last five. He can do just enough to return value at his cheap prices.
Ugonna OnyensoUKTA&M440015.64430015.02
Ugonna Onyenso’s minutes and DFS production have been fluctuating a lot lately, hence the cheap price tags. Still, we could see Kentucky’s rotation tighten in tournament play and it may mean Onyenso locked into a bigger role. He can pop for 20-25 DFS points or more if he’s on the larger end of his minutes. Notably, he went off for 29 DK in 31 mins vs Texas A&M earlier this year.
