The MMA Fantasy Championship Enters Season 2 -- Registration Closes Sunday Morning!!

The MMA Fantasy Championship (MMAFC) kicks off its 2nd season on Sunday with the UFC’s first event of 2018 - UFC Fight Night 124: Stephens vs. Choi. You may have never heard of The MMA Fantasy Championship before, but there’s a good chance this won’t be the last time that you hear about it, especially if you are a DFS MMA fan.

The brainchild of a few diehard MMA DFS players and myself in late 2016, MMAFC Season 1 attracted more than 70 DFS MMA players to sign up and participate in a 12 month long, 38 UFC event season that crowned the “Best DFS MMA Player in the World” at the conclusion of UFC 219 on December 30th. The player with the most cumulative DraftKings points over the course of the 38 UFC event season would be the DFS MMA King for 2017!

Sgaffney30 had a 3 point lead over EverettCase going into the 38th and final UFC event of the MMAFC’s inaugural season! A 3 point lead after both players had accumulated more than 15,000 DraftKings points over the course of the 37 previous UFC events throughout 2017! That’s incredible, and there was some serious suspense going into the final event, because not only would the winner take home a pretty hefty 1st place prize (2nd made out pretty well too), but they’d also take home a plaque with their name etched in it for life, and most importantly, they’d be known as the best DFS MMA player in the world for at least the next 12 months!

Sgaffney30 ended up putting together an awesome lineup, and ended up finishing in 4th out of 73 players in the last event of the season, outperforming EverettCase who ended up placing 39th and taking home 2nd place overall. Sgaffney had a killer end to his season finishing in 8th, 7th, and 4th in his final 3 events of the season, and securing his place in the DFS MMA record books as the inaugural MMAFC Champion! He now enters the 2nd season with a target on his back and the pressure to perform in Season 2. We’ll see if he can step up and match 2017’s performance.

If you are interested in playing the 2nd season of The MMA Fantasy Championship, then you still have time to sign up and test your skills. Registration closes at 5:30 PM EST Sunday January 21st - 30 minutes before the UFC kicks off its first event of 2018! It’s a great opportunity to test your DFS skills against some of the best for a full 12 month season (we also offer a 6 month season for those nervous about a full year) at a very reasonable entry fee that gets paid out in a handful of different categories throughout the year! You’ll get a chance to meet a lot of great DFS players, test your skills, and have a lot fun while doing it! Come play in a format that will certainly gain popularity over the next few years in more than just MMA!

Cheers,
