Welcome to the DFS Example Lineups for NFL Week 5!

I'm sure I did plenty of chest-pounding in the Playbook this week, so let's just get right to business and see if we can't come up with YET ANOTHER BIG DFS WINNER from the #FAmily. OK, I couldn't resist. You all are absolutely killing it right now and as the guy who heads up the content team here on Fantasy Alarm, I could not be more proud of all of you and our DFS team here.

In looking at today's slate, there seems to be a fairly clear path regarding your lineup builds. With so much marquee talent taken off the main slate, we definitely have some pockets of value we need to take advantage of this week. At the QB position, I love paying up for Kyler Murray and I love paying down for Joe Burrow. So start there and work your lineup accordingly. Running backs are more towards the pricey end, but I do have a couple of pay-downs for you to use as your RB2 if you need the salary relief. At wide receiver, there is value all over the place. I do not personally believe you need to pay up for the top-tier talent this week. There seem to be plenty of affordable wideouts in the mid-tier, many of whom have the floor you want for cash and the upside for GPP tournaments. And then, of course, there's the tight end position. I've handed you a few options to look at across the different pricing tiers, but, for me, if I'm not paying up for Darren Waller, I am completely punting the position. We have a few low-budget guys in strong situations this week, so no need to focus too hard over there. And the same goes with the defense. If it's not the Patriots, punt away!

Now obviously, these are just suggestions. It's the likely direction I am taking, if that helps you at all. Nothing wrong at all with doing it differently though, so if you disagree, build as you wish. Remember, it's your money, so if you genuinely don't believe in something, don't use it. You ain't hurting my feeling here.

Just a few more notes here about the lineups below...

The cash lineups were built solely off the players I put in the Playbook. These are the guys who, unless I have indicated otherwise, offer up the higher floor and will help you cash in your Double-Ups and 50/50s. For GPP tournaments, particularly the large-field ones, you need to find alternative routes to the cash line. I will utilize players from the Playbook and the DFS Dart Board to fill in the gaps, but what I am looking for are some lower-owned stacks that make sense based on expected game flow and other news. You may also see in the GPP lineups, there may be some names I haven't discussed this week on the site, but have talked about during the week on the Fantasy Alarm Show on SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio. You will also notice, though, that others on the site have mentioned some of these players in places such as the position coaches, so it's not like we're trying to hide anything from you. The only time, and I mean the only time you will see a player in a GPP lineup who hasn't been discussed is if we are using a stack and need a player from the other team coming back. But it's rare when that happens.

Again, these lineups are meant to serve as examples for you. A sounding board if you will. They are not meant for you to plug in as your own. That's the lazy way and we don't condone it. We are trying to teach you how to be a better DFS player; we aren't lineup-sellers. You should be creating your own lineups using all the information we provide you throughout the week and then coming here to see if there is anything you may have missed or simply for an alternative perspective.

Best of luck to you this week and let's make some money!

SUNDAY MORNING NOTES:

**Be sure to check the Playbook for any late adds – we've already got one in there, so don't miss out.

According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport:

Washington RB Antonio Gibson (shin) and WR Curtis Samuel (groin) are both expected to play.

Lions RB D'Andre Swift (groin), RB Jamaal Williams (hip), TE T.J. Hockenson (knee) and OT Penei Sewell (ankle) should be active today against the Vikings

Bengals RB Joe Mixon (ankle) is expected to play against the Packers

According to NFL Insider Adam Schefter:

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (ankle) is a true game-time decision. If he plays, there's no guarantee of a full workload, so Alexander Mattison is expected to see work against the Lions.

Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds (shoulder) is expected to play against the 49ers.

Broncos QB Teddy Bridgewater has cleared concussion protocol and will start against the Steelers.

Broncos WR Courtland Sutton (ankle) is being called a game-time decision.

Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) is expected to play against the Giants.

Cowboys WR Amari Cooper (hamstring) is expected to play against the Giants.

Other players expected to play include: Titans’ WR A.J. Brown, 49ers’ RB Elijah Mitchell, Steelers’ WR Chase Claypool and Chiefs’ WR Josh Gordon.

Players out for Sunday include: Calvin Ridley, Russell Gage, Jimmy Garoppolo, George Kittle, Julio Jones, Rob Gronkowski, Deshaun Watson, Logan Thomas, Brandon Scherff, Jaire Alexander, Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton, Lane Johnson, David Montgomery, Damon Arnette and Trayvon Mullen.

GPP STACKS:

As a reminder, when you're stacking in GPP, you always want to run someone back from the opposing team. One-sided games often turn to a running back seeing higher-than-usual volume or the back-ups start to play. For a stack to really pop, the other team needs to keep things competitive.
