LaMarcus Aldridge underwent arthroscopic procedure and rotator cuff debridement on his right shoulder and will miss the remainder of the 2019-20 season according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
The surgery happened way back on April 24th but it wasn't reported until today, so the Spurs have known for a while that they wouldn't have Aldridge available in the restart. LMA did return from a six-game absence right before the hiatus with what the Spurs called a "right shoulder strain," but it makes sense for the aging star to go ahead and address the problem since his team is facing an uphill path to the No. 8 seed. With Aldridge out of the equation, we can expect to see plenty more of Jakob Poeltl in a more traditional lineup with Trey Lyles and Rudy Gay both benefitting as well. Aldridge is expected to be a full go for the 2020-21 season. Jun 08 3:02 pm (EST)
