The Magic have applied for a disabled player exception due to the season-ending knee injury suffered by Jonathan Isaac according to Josh Robbins of The Athletic.

Isaac tore the ACL and meniscus in his left knee back in early August, and the expectation according to team president Jeff Weltman was that he'll miss the entire 2020-21 season. As a result the Magic have applied for a disabled player exception, which in this case would be worth $3,681,283. If approved Orlando would be able to either sign someone to a one-year contract or acquire a player entering the final season of his contract. Both salaries (the new player's and Isaac's) would count towards the Magic's luxury tax calculations.  Nov 22 11:20 am (EST)
