It all comes down to this! The 2025 TOUR Championship is upon us. The 30 best golfers of 2025 will compete for the title of TOUR champion, a $40,000,000 purse, and the chance to pull off a feat that has only been accomplished by 15 players since it’s inception in 2007. Will favorite Scottie Scheffler pull off the win, or will a new face take the title this year?

Let’s dive in!

TOUR Championship 2025: Daily Fantasy Golf Picks & Projections

Upon it’s induction to the PGA Tour in 2007, this event marks the first time that men’s professional golf had a true playoff system. The conclusion of the season long FedEx Cup, players have earned their spot here based on their performance throughout 2025. With only 30 players in the field this week, competition will be fierce. Along with the short field, this is the first season we will see the new rules of this event. Previously, your placement in the FedEx Cup standings earned you starting strokes, which was controversial to many as the best actual score would often not win. Scottie Scheffler, the defending champion, will be looking to join Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods as the only multi-time winners of this event.

East Lake Golf Club: Course Breakdown This Week

Located in Atlanta, Georgia, East Lake Golf Club has been the home to the TOUR Championship since it’s inception. It opened in 1904 and has a very rich history, and has hosted many events such as the 1963 Ryder cup during it’s time. In fact, it has also hosted the East Lake Cup, which is a collegiate match play event that was one by the two most recent winners of the TOUR Championship, Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland.

This year, we will see East Lake play as a Par 70 at just under 7,500 yards from the back tees. This is just one of many changes, as we’ve seen additional changes, such as changing the greens over to Bermuda, converting the fairways to Zoysia grass, completely redesigning the green complexes, and adding more bunkers to the course. The Par 3s at East Lake all play at over 200 yards, including the 9th hole which can play up to 260 yards. The Par 4s range from 390 to 530 (longer than one of the par 5s), and the par 5s play at 525 and 585 respectively. Tiger Woods holds the record here, when he recorded 257 strokes over four rounds in 2007.

Even with the changes to the course this year, I have to lean into course history here as there are only 3 courses on tour that are more predictive than East Lake. Only 7 players in the field this week have no experience on this course, while some players have 40 or more rounds here. The last four winners of this event (Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, and Patrick Cantlay) are in the field this week, and will get a boost as a result, especially since they also all have other high finishes here.

While the changes to this course are nothing to shake a stick at, looking at historical performance here, a few things stand clear. Approach play is far more important here than tour average, especially with the added difficulty around the green complexes. Good Drives Gained takes a jump here as well as my preferred off the tee stat, and scoring is going to matter with Birdies or Better Gained taking a big jump as well. That said, every single player in this field has what it takes to win this event.

TOUR Championship 2025 Field: Golf DFS

As previously mentioned, this event is the top 30 players in the FedEx Cup standings. It’s an extremely short field, and one that is loaded with talent. This is an event where you can back essentially any player without much concern as everyone has earned their spot here either through hot streaks of play or through season long dominance. Scottie Scheffler is the defending champ here, and is looking to join Rory McIlroy as the only active player with multiple TOUR Championships. Other winners in the field include Viktor Hovland, Patrick Cantlay, and Xander Schauffele. .

GOLF DFS PICKS THIS WEEK: Top Tier

Scottie Scheffler ($13,900 DraftKings/$14,000 FanDuel)

Let’s be honest, no one is surprised to see this name here. Scottie is the best golfer on the planet, and is having the most dominant stretch of golf that we’ve seen since Tiger Woods. He’s a player who controls his misses, can drive it a mile, and always understands what shot is needed at any given time. He’s clearly the favorite, even without the 10 stroke handicap he had prior to his win last year and has only one finish here outside of the top 6.

Rory McIlroy ($11,300 DraftKings/$12,600 FanDuel)

If I have the No.1, it should be no surprise that I also have the No.2 player in the field. Rory can absolutely mash the ball off the tee, leading the field in driving distance, and is a top 20 putter on tour, and he has as much scoring upside as any player on tour. Rory has won this event three times, and given the lengthening of the course this year probably has even more of an advantage given he’s the longest player in the field. His worst finish at this course in his 11 appearances here is T16th. Even in a short field, that’s impressive and can’t be ignored.

GOLF DFS PICKS THIS WEEK: MID-TIER

Tommy Fleetwood ($9,900 DraftKings/$12,100 FanDuel)

Fleetwood has yet to secure that ever elusive first win on the PGA Tour, and while this event would be tough for him to win, his game is so good that we can’t ignore him for DFS purposes. Given the importance of the approach game here, having an elite ball-striker like Fleetwood is huge. His finishes here haven’t been great, with just one top 10 finish, but this is by far the best form he’s had entering this event, with back to back top 5 finishes in the playoffs and a T16th finish at The Open. His putter is on fire, the irons are strong, and he’s been extremely accurate off the tee.

Russell Henley ($9,600 DraftKings/11,300 FanDuel)

Might as well call this tier the tier of elite ball-strikers this week, as Henley is another player who is absolutely lights out on approach. Much like Fleetwood, he’s extremely accurate off the tee and on approach, and while the putter isn’t as much of a weapon, the wedge play Henley shows is what Fleetwood is often lacking in events. Henley has multiple top 5 finishes here, including last season and has 6 straight finishes of T17th or better entering East Lake. He has to be in consideration for the win here.

Collin Morikawa ($8,300 DraftKings/$10,200 FanDuel)

Say what you want about Morikawa, but the guy was the winner last season here if the handicap system didn’t exist as he had the best 72 hole score in the event. The concern here is the putter, as it has been his biggest weakness for most of 2025, but the ball-striking is 2nd to none and his ability to scramble around a golf course cannot be ignored. He’s probably going to be one of the lowest rostered players at this price, but I am all over Collin this week.

GOLF DFS PICKS THIS WEEK: VALUE TIER

Ben Griffin ($7,700 DraftKings/$9,300 FanDuel)

Having just missed out on automatic qualification for the Ryder Cup, I’m not sure anyone in the field will want this win as bad as Ben Griffin. He’s back to playing some great golf after back to back missed cuts at John Deere and the Open, with elite putting, strong ball-striking, and solid wedge play. He’s making his debut at this event, meaning we don’t know quite how it will look here, but he’s been one of the best players on the planet in 2025, and I’ll happily take this discount.

Chris Gotterup ($6,600 DraftKings/$8,100 FanDuel)

Gotterup has by far the worst form entering this event of everyone in this article, and even though he has no experience playing this course, he lines up very well here. His bread and butter is his play off the tee, and the putter can get extremely hot. He’s going to need some things to go into his favor to win here, but he’s going to be extremely low rostered and has the game to win here.

Akshay Bhatia ($6,700 DraftKings/$7,800 FanDuel)

I couldn’t put out my final article of the 2025 season without mentioning one of my favorite players. He didn’t fair too well in his debut here last year, but his 2025 game is much more sound than his 2024 game was. His irons are an absolute strength, he’s been strong off the tee of late, and the putter can get extremely hot at any given time. He can score with the best of them, and he’s so fun to watch that I just had to include him here.
