Muirfield Village Golf Club gave these golfers everything they could handle and a little bit more over the weekend in Ohio. Jack Nicklaus’ tournament had a thrilling playoff finish between Viktor Hovland and Denny McCarthy with the former Oklahoma State Sooner coming out on top. That was Hovland’s fourth career victory on the PGA Tour and he’s just 25-years-old. The only thing missing is that major title. It looked like on Thursday and Friday that world number one Scottie Scheffler was going to come down to earth a bit after an epic run but shot 68-67 over the weekend to just miss being in the playoff by one stroke. We also saw nice performances from Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlory, Rickie Fowler and Matt Fitzpatrick, who all finished inside the Top 10. Let’s head to the great white north for this week’s event.

Once again, this tournament is being overshadowed by news surrounding the LIV Tour. This time it’s about the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and LIV Tour merging into one Super Tour. Jon Impemba did a nice write up about what we know about this deal thus far, check it out here: PGA/LIV Merger

This is the 37th different course to host this event in its 117 year history. The course was designed by renowned architect Stanley Thompson, features 18 holes of championship-level golf. It offers a diverse and challenging layout, incorporating natural features such as trees, water hazards, and strategic bunkers to test players' skills.

The course boasts meticulously maintained fairways and greens, providing a superb playing surface for golfers of all levels. Oakdale's scenic beauty is enhanced by its serene surroundings, with rolling terrain and lush landscapes adding to the overall charm. The course combines a rich history, stunning natural beauty, and a commitment to excellence to create an unforgettable golfing experience in the heart of Toronto.

We’ve got a full 156 players in this field with a solid group of golfers. It won’t be as good as last weekend but you’ve got defending champion Rory McIlory, US Open champ Matt Fitzpatrick, Tyrrell Hatton, Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood, Sam Burns, Shane Lowry, Cameron Young, and Sahith Theegala. Corey Conners, Adam Svensson and MacKenzie Hughes are three Canadian born players in the field with one win each heading into their national championship.

The weather significantly cools off after last weekend’s humidity for these players. They will experience temperatures in the high 60s and low 70s throughout the weekend. There is about a 50 percent chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday. No real advantage to playing someone off their tee time.
