I wasn’t sure it could get any worse, but oh boy was I wrong. This past week was brutal for injuries, both minor and major. No position was safe from this, and seemingly no caliber of player either. Even as roles are becoming more clear, the injury bug throughout the league is leaving much up to chance week to week. Let’s take a look at what managers will be dealing with for week 7.

WEEK 7 BYES: Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills

NFL Week 7 Injury Report: Quarterbacks

Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals

10/17 UPDATE

Though Kyler has practiced and has looked like he’s doing well per head coach Jonathan Gannon, he is still uncertain to play this weekend. I would expect that he will not be active and Jacoby Brissett will get another start. Managers should plan accordingly.

J.J. McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings

10/17 UPDATE

McCarthy has returned to practice in a limited basis, but has admitted that he is still not 100 percent. Given that Wentz has been solid in relief of McCarthy, I expect Minnesota to remain cautious with their young QB.

Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers

10/17 UPDATE

Purdy has returned to practice on a limited basis. Purdy is still inactive however, leading to a 5th start for Mac Jones.

Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens

Jackson did not return in week 6, but head coach John Harbaugh noted that Lamar was likely to return to action in week 8. This will be a huge gain both for the Ravens and fantasy managers, as Cooper Rush has not been effective in relief of Jackson, as noted by his benching for Tyler Huntley in week 6.

NFL Week 7 Injury Report: Running Backs

Chuba Hubbard, Carolina Panthers

Hubbard ultimately missed the game in week 6, which led to a 2nd consecutive 200 total scrimmage yard game from Rico Dowdle. Given Dowdle’s effectiveness in relief of Hubbard, I would not be surprised to see Hubbard have a limited role upon his return. This split will be one to monitor when Hubbard ultimately returns to practice and the field.

Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

10/17 UPDATE

Irving has officially been listed as doubtful and has not yet returned to practice in any fashion. Rachaad White will get another week to lead the backfield.

Irving has essentially already been ruled out by head coach Todd Bowles. Irving’s absence has opened the door for Rachaad White, who scored a touchdown in back-to-back weeks. White will continue to lead this backfield until Irving returns to play.

D’Andre Swift, Chicago Bears

10/17 UPDATE

Swift has been added to the injury report with a groin injury and is officially questionable for Sunday though he has stated that he is good to go. Swift is coming off his best game of the season, so hopefully this is more precautionary than actually limiting him in-game.

NFL Week 7 Injury Report: Wide Receivers

Emeka Egbuka, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Egbuka suffered a hamstring strain that ultimately removed him from the game during the 2nd quarter in week 6. This WR room is getting decimated, as this injury left Baker Mayfield without his four best wide receivers. Egbuka is expected to miss 2-3 weeks with this injury, and given the week 9 bye for Tampa, we may not see him again until week 10.

Puka Nacua, Los Angeles Rams

10/17 UPDATE

Puka has officially been listed as OUT. Jordan Whittington is expected to take his place in the starting lineup, though Tutu Atwell will also be returning to the lineup. As expected, Puka will likely return during Week 9.

Puka suffered a Foot/Ankle sprain in week 6, which removed him for the game for most of the 2nd and 3rd quarters, and he had 0 targets once he did return. With the team having a week 8 bye, I’m expecting to not have Puka back until Week 9.

Calvin Ridley, Tennessee Titans

10/17 UPDATE

Ridley has officially been ruled out due to a hamstring injury. As the only reliable veteran wide receiver for the Titans and rookie QB Cam Ward, the team will certainly miss his presence on the field. Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor will likely lead the receiving core this week.

Ridley suffered a hamstring strain this past week. Given his history and age, it would not be a surprise to see this be a longer-term injury, especially given the recent firing of head coach Brian Callahan. Ridley could potentially even land on the IR with this injury, which would keep him out until potentially Week 12.

Garrett Wilson, New York Jets

10/17 UPDATE

Wilson is officially listed as doubtful for the team's game this weekend. Wilson will be a huge loss for the team, as well as fantasy managers. Justin Fields will be without his top WR and will likely have to run more than expected.

Wilson suffered a knee injury, and while it wasn’t a major concern on film, he will likely be receiving an MRI that should give us some additional insight. I’m not expecting Wilson to miss much time, but the MRI should give us clarity. The team has stated we should receive some more information on his status on Wednesday.

Marvin Harrison, Arizona Cardinals

10/17 UPDATE

Marv is still in concussion protocol as of Friday, so I am expecting him to be inactive this week. Michael Wilson and Greg Dortch are expected to lead the WR room this week in his absence.

Harrison suffered a concussion in week 6 and was ultimately forced out of the game. Given that concussions have typically caused players to miss at least one additional week, I’m expecting Harrison to be out in week 7.

Darnell Mooney, Atlanta Falcons

10/17 UPDATE

Mooney logged two limited practices before ultimately being a DNP on Friday. I am expecting Mooney to play this week as head coach Raheem Morris is hopeful, but with Ray-Ray McCloud also being ruled out this week due to a coaching decision, I expect London and Pitts to lead the receiving core.

Mooney was ultimately ruled out with his hamstring injury in week 6. From what we know, he had not yet returned to practice in any capacity thus far, so hopefully, he can get back this week, but I would expect to be without Mooney for an additional week.

Jalen Coker, Carolina Panthers

10/17 UPDATE

Jalen Coker will officially be active this week and will return to the Panthers receiving core. Coker had a ton of hype heading into the season, and while Bryce Young has been inconsistent, he’s shown that he’s capable of supporting fantasy receiving options. Coker is officially in play as a Flex option.

Coker was close to playing this past week, but ultimately sat out. I would expect Coker to return to action in week 7 at this stage, which would be a huge addition for Bryce Young and Company.

CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys

10/17 UPDATE

CeeDee has stated that he fully expects to play this weekend against the Commanders with no limitations. This is huge news for fantasy managers and the Cowboys as a whole. Lamb immediately slots back in as a weekly WR1.

Lamb has been getting side work pretty consistently at practice, giving him a chance to return to play this week against the Commanders. Lamb would be a huge add for all parties, as the receivers that Dallas have been trotting out are far from household names.

Quentin Johnston, Los Angeles Chargers

Johnston was surprise inactive this past week after suffering a minor hamstring strain. He had logged limited practices all week, before ultimately being ruled inactive. I would suspect he was close to playing, but with him having ultimately sat out, I would imagine the team would likely him to continue to log more practice time before returning him to action.

Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

10/17 UPDATE

Godwin has officially been listed as doubtful with his fibula injury. He has not yet returned to practice, and will likely need to return in a full capacity before returning to the lineup.

Godwin, like teammate Bucky Irving, has essentially already been ruled out by head coach Todd Bowles. Godwin certainly feels like a case of a player rushing back from injury too quickly, as this injury game after just two games.

Ricky Pearsall, San Francisco 49ers

Pearsall missed yet another game this past week. Given that this has been a multiple week injury and he continues to struggle to return to practice, I would be shocked to see Pearsall return to the lineup this week without multiple practices.

Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

10/17 UPDATE

Evans has returned to practice in a limited fashion this week. I am expecting Evans to play, though we may see snap limitations on him.

The team is hopeful that Evans can return to practice this week. This would be a huge return for the team given the injuries to Godwin and Egbuka. Evans would slot back in as a WR1 option upon return.

Terry McLaurin, Washington Commanders

10/17 UPDATE

McLaurin will miss the game tonight against Chicago, but has suffered no setbacks at this stage and is a candidate to return to action in Week 7. This would be a huge addition to the team given that they’ve missed his production.

McLaurin has officially been ruled out for week 7. This will be the 4th game McLaurin has missed this season, more than he missed in his first 6 seasons in the NFL.

Deebo Samuel, Washington Commanders

10/17 UPDATE

Samuel remains limited in practice. He has stated that he is unsure if he will play this week, so any manager with Deebo should plan to be without him this week.

Samuel is truly a game-time decision for the Commanders in week 6. If he’s able to hit the field, he will likely be fine for Week 7, assuming he doesn’t worsen the heel injury.

Josh Downs, Indianapolis Colts

10/17 UPDATE

Downs has officially been ruled out with a concussion. While he hasn’t been overly productive in 2025, he’s been a decent floor play than many managers will be without. Downs' concussion could be a multi-week issue, as multiple have been this season, so managers will want to monitor this next week.

Darius Slayton, New York Giants

10/17 UPDATE

Slayton was hoped to step up in the absence of Malik Nabers, but will yet again miss a game as he is listed as doubtful. Slayton is getting closer to returning, but is not yet ready to take Nabers' slot in the lineup.

NFL Week 7 Injury Report: Tight Ends

Mike Gesicki, Cincinnati Bengals

Gesicki has suffered a pectoral strain that is expected to keep him out for quite some time per head coach Zac Taylor. Given that back up Tanner Hudson is also in concussion protocol, the Bengals tight end room is officially in shambles.

David Njoku, Cleveland Browns

10/17 UPDATE

As expected, Njoku has been ruled out for the Browns matchup this weekend. Harold Fannin is expected to see a much larger role, and should be in line to be a solid streaming option.

Njoku suffered a knee injury after he seemed to hyperextend his knee multiple times throughout the game. This ultimately forced him out of the lineup, and he did not return. Njoku will likely miss some time with this injury, especially given the injury history he carries.

Brock Bowers, Las Vegas Raiders

10/17 UPDATE

Bowers returned to practice on Friday in a limited fashion. I'm still expecting him to miss this week as he is listed as doubtful, but this is good news for future games. He was able to practice without a knee brace as well, showing he is very close.

Bowers is still considered week-to-week with his knee injury. Bowers will be a player that even once ready to play, will likely be considered a game-time decision. Monitor his practice reports closely, as that is the only way we might get some clarity.

George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers

10/17 UPDATE

Kittle has returned to practice in a limited fashion. While he may not be 100 percent ready to return, managers should be hopeful that they will get Kittle back for the second half of the season. That said, Kittle will be ACTIVE this week.
