Updated 12/26

With championship week upon us, it’s more important than ever to make the right sit-start decisions. With injuries happening across the league, getting ahead of this news can give you a distinct advantage against your opponents this week. Let’s take a look at the injuries from this weekend and try to get ahead of the competition!

Let’s dive in.

NFL Week 17 Injury Report: Quarterbacks

Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens

12/26 UPDATE

Lamar is officially listed as Doubtful for this weekend, meaning he will need a miracle to play. This is a huge hit for fantasy managers, who will now have to pivot. Tyler Huntley will start in his place against a formidable Green Bay defense.

Lamar exited their week 16 loss due to a back injury. He’s considered day-to-day, but the team is hopeful he plays Saturday.

Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

12/26 UPDATE

Allen is feeling better each day and will be good to go this weekend per head coach Sean McDermott. Allen being back to full go is likely a huge relief for managers.

Allen briefly left their week 16 matchup with a foot injury, but X-rays were clear. He’s considered day-to-day but expected to be good to go in week 17.

Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers

12/26 UPDATE

Love is listed as questionable for this weekend. With a shoulder injury and concussion, he will likely be inactive this weekend, which is made easier for Green Bay by having already clinched a playoff spot.

Love exited their loss to Chicago with a concussion. He will have to clear protocol to play this week, which seems unlikely.

Malik Willis, Green Bay Packers

12/26 UPDATE

Willis suffered a shoulder injury and is also suffering from an illness, listing him as questionable this weekend. Willis is expected to get the start this weekend, even with his designation.

Willis suffered a shoulder injury against Chicago. He will likely need to practice to get starter reps, as Jordan Love is unlikely to play, so this one will have to be watched closely.

J.J. McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings

McCarthy left his game this weekend with a hand injury and was an estimated DNP on Monday. He will likely need to return to practice this week to start this weekend, but I’m not holding my breath.

NFL Week 17 Injury Report: Running Backs

Dylan Sampson, Cleveland Browns

12/26 UPDATE

Sampson is estimated to have been limited on Thursday, and is listed as questionable. He’s the projected starter with Judkins' injury ending his season, but will likely split work with Rocket Sanders, with Sampson getting most of the passing down work.

Quinshon Judkins, Cleveland Browns

With perhaps the biggest injury of the week, Judkins will miss the remainder of this season with a dislocated ankle and broken fibula. The rookie RB’s season ends, and muddles up the backfield for fantasy purposes.

Woody Marks, Houston Texans

12/26 UPDATE

Marks has been a full participant at practice, meaning he’s good to go this weekend. Managers will rejoice in getting their RB2 back, as Marks’ upside is high in this offense.

Marks was ultimately inactive in week 16 due to an ankle injury. He was close to playing, so if he feels good in practice this week, I would expect him to play this weekend.

TreVeyon Henderson, New England Patriots

12/26 UPDATE

Henderson is back at practice as of Friday without a no-contact jersey, signalling he could clear protocol and be active this weekend. This would be huge news for fantasy managers, as Henderson’s RB1 upside is needed for championship rosters. He is officially listed as questionable but is expected to play.

Henderson suffered a suspected concussion this weekend. At this stage, it’s just listed as a head injury, but if he enters concussion protocol, he is likely out this weekend.

Kimani Vidal, Los Angeles Chargers

12/26 UPDATE

Vidal is listed as questionable for Saturday’s game against the Texans. He was listed as an estimated limited in Thursday’s practice report, opening the door for him to back up Omarion Hampton this weekend.

Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints

12/26 UPDATE

Kamara will be inactive once again, meaning the trio of Taysom Hill, Audric Estime, and Evan Hull will split the backfield work again. Unfortunately, none of them offer clear upside outside of Taysom Hill, given his usage in the wildcat.

NFL Week 17 Injury Report: Wide Receivers

Rome Odunze, Chicago Bears

12/26 UPDATE

Odunze has not returned to practice and is officially being ruled out. This was expected after the Bears clinched the playoffs, which is likely the next time we see Odunze.

Odunze missed the team's win against Green Bay. At this stage, given his injury and practice status, I would not expect him to be active this week.

Luther Burden, Chicago Bears

12/26 UPDATE

Burden has returned to practice in full as of Friday and will be good to go this weekend. He’s expected to see the bulk of receiver snaps alongside DJ Moore.

Burden wasn’t able to practice at the end of the week and was ultimately ruled out. He will likely need to log multiple practices this week to be active in week 17.

Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions

Amon-Ra suffered a knee injury in their week 16 loss and was an estimated DNP on Monday. I’m expecting him to be good-to-go this week, but I will monitor his updates and practice reports.

Rashee Rice, Kansas City Chiefs

Rice is still in concussion protocol and will have to be cleared to play this weekend. He will be working with third-string QB Chris Oladokun if active, as Gardner Minshew suffered a season-ending injury.

Christian Watson, Green Bay Packers

12/26 UPDATE

Watson missed practice this week due to illness. This is big news for a team that could be without Jordan Love this weekend.

Davante Adams, Los Angeles Rams

12/26 UPDATE

Adams was listed as a non-participant on Thursday's estimated practice report, and there's speculation from those close to the team that the Rams may shut him down for the remainder of the regular season. I’m expecting him to be inactive this weekend, opening the door for Puka Nacua to continue to see an incredible workload.

Mack Hollins, New England Patriots

12/26 UPDATE

Hollins has officially been ruled out this weekend. Hollins has been earning more targets as of late, as he’s established rapport with Drake Maye. With Kayshon Boutte also out, we will likely see more targets going to Hunter Henry, Stefon Diggs, and DeMario Douglas (listed as questionable), as well as TreVeyon Henderson out of the backfield. Kyle Williams also becomes a desperation flex option.

A.J. Brown, Philadelphia Eagles

12/26 UPDATE

Brown is dealing with an issue with his wisdom teeth and has missed practice as a result, though he has returned as of the media portion of Friday’s practice. His status will likely come down to the wire.

Chris Olave, New Orleans Saints

12/26 UPDATE

Olave was limited in practice with a back issue. This was just precautionary per reports, and he should be good to go this weekend.

NFL Week 17 Injury Report: Tight Ends

Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills

12/26 UPDATE

Kincaid was a non-participant in the Thursday practice estimate but returned to practice on Friday in a limited fashion and is listed as questionable.

Harold Fannin, Cleveland Browns

12/26 UPDATE

Fannin picked up a groin injury during Friday’s practice. The team is waiting until they see how he feels on game day, and he said he expects to play, but as a manager, I would plan on picking up another option at the position just in case.

David Njoku, Cleveland Browns

12/26 UPDATE

Njoku has been ruled out as of Friday. With Harold Fannin also picking up a groin injury, it may be a full fade week for the Browns' passing offense.

George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers

12/26 UPDATE

Kittle is dealing with an ankle sprain and has not practiced as of the time of writing. I’m expecting him to be inactive this weekend, but it is expected to be a game-time decision. If he is active, his upside is limited due to the injury, likely limiting his snaps.

Brock Bowers, Las Vegas Raiders

12/26 UPDATE

Bowers has been placed on the IR, ending his season. His back-up, Michael Mayer, has some upside, but it’s not at the level of Bowers.
