Back again for the Thursday “In case you missed them” waiver wire article for the second week of October, and Week 6 of the NFL season! Hope everyone in the FANation is doing well this Thursday, getting ready for the weekend, and lots of football action. The features from Dan Malin on Tuesday included some new names such as Chase Edmonds , Reggie Bonnafon , Byron Pringle , and Hayden Hurst . Hopefully, you guys took advantage on Tuesday and grabbed up some of those who you needed, BUT if you were unsuccessful, or missed out, here are a few more that you can consider for the NFL action coming up!

QB

1.) Teddy Bridgewater (18% (+9) YAHOO – 21.8% (+14.3) ESPN)- We have now seen Teddy get better over the last two weeks, managing this Saints team to a very big victory over the Cowboys in Week 4, and putting in one of his best performances of his NFL career last week against the Bucs, as he went 26 of 34, throwing for 314 and FOUR touchdowns. Let’s add the Bucs D hasn’t been that “great,” however, still can’t discount the numbers. This week he gets the more than likely, Jalen Ramsey -less Jags on the road, who are middle of the pack against QBs. Teddy is still a viable option until Brees makes a return.

2.) Sam Darnold (15% (+2) YAHOO – 7.6% (+1) ESPN)- The Jets are finally getting a much-needed boost in the return of Sam Darnold . Darnold was held out once again in Week 5 due to making sure he didn’t “die on the field.” That is the good news is that he didn’t have to worry about that, and even better news is that he has already been named starter for this week. The Jets will not have the easiest task against a decent Cowboys defense, but they do have home field. I expect to see Sam back in full action, and I also believe there will be some points scored in this one. Sam is a good pick-up even for ROS, not just one week.

RB

1.) Adrian Peterson (54% (+7) YAHOO – 67% (+5) ESPN)- AP looks to have a meaningful game script according to new interim HC Bill Callahan. Callahan has already mentioned the fact that the Skins are more than likely going to establish the run. This should bode well for this week, as the Skins are traveling to Miami to face the worse run D in the league, allowing 175.8 yards per game on the ground. Phins are also allowing a hefty 4.8 YPC, and are tied with three other teams (CIN, NO, BAL) with the most rushing TDs allowed at seven. AP seems to be in a good spot this week.

2.) Darrell Henderson (17% (+1) YAHOO – 21% (+2.5) ESPN)- Henderson may look to crack the line-up this weekend if Gurley is a no-go. Gurley has now missed the last three days of practice, and is highly questionable going into the weekend. Obviously, his status will need to be well monitored, however if you have a bench spot open, and could have the need for an immediate RB-plug, Henderson could turn into a nice upside back, especially in PPR formats which fit the 3rd-down type back that he is. We know that Malcolm Brown will assume the 1st down back role, that should leave the door open for Henderson in the passing game.

3.) Benny Snell (2% (+1) YAHOO – 1.6% (+0.4)- This is obviously a flier-type play here as well, but with Jaylen Samuels looking to be sidelined for at least a month, this should open the door a smidge for Snell to play in spell of lead-back James Conner . If Snell is used in any fashion the way the Steelers had been using Jaylen, he could turn into a viable option, not to mention the fact that Conner sometimes has a hard time staying healthy. It’s worth a look.

WR

1.) Darius Slay ton (3% (+3) YAHOO – 3.5% (+ 2.7 ESPN)- Not the greatest match up this week, as the NYG get the Pats on Thursday night football, however if you think in terms of game script, the Pats should be ahead all game. This could fall into a nice space here for Darius Slay ton, who only has to really fight for targets with Golden Tate at the current moment. Shepard, Engram, and Wayne Gallman have all be ruled out and even though this game should/could get ugly quick, Slayton could easily see a few catches, and maybe get a garbage TD even. 12 targets in his last 3 games, and a TD in their last game as well.

2.) Jacobi Meyers (1% (+1) YAHOO – 0.9% (+0.5) ESPN)- With the absence of Phillip Dorsett this week, Meyers should step right on into the WR3 role. With Josh Gordon likely getting covered mainly by Janoris Jenkins , this should open some nice looks for Meyers. Meyers was a preseason sensation, and against the rest of this awful Giants defense, it wouldn’t shock me if he has 4-5 receptions and gets in the box. Either way, it’s a low-risk, high-reward type play, and if you need the WR slot because of Bye weeks or injuries, give Jacobi a look this week.

3.) Duke Williams (1% (+1) YAHOO – 0.4% (+0.4) ESPN)- With the trade of Zay Jones , Duke was promoted from the practice squad. Duke was targeted four times last week and corralled all four balls for 29 yards and a score. Not to mention the fact that Williams played only TWO snaps less than starting WR1 John Brown . The 5-star JUCO recruit was a stud in the CFL last season, as he led the league in yardage. I would slip this one in your back pocket for now, and believe Duke could be more than a viable option going forward with QB Josh Allen at the helm.

TE

1.) Gerald Everett (71% (+63) YAHOO – 40% (+38.1) ESPN)- Most are chasing Everett this week, and rightfully so as he had a monster game last week against the Seahawks gaining 136 yards on seven receptions. Everett was targeted a season-high eleven times in the Rams heart-breaking one point loss. However, if Brandon Cooks looks to miss this week as he is in concussion protocol, we could see Everett get his number called quite a few more times. Everett is still available in two of my three leagues, so it is likely he is still out there if you need a TE stream this week.

2.) Geoff Swaim (1% (+1) YAHOO – 0.6% (+0.4) ESPN)- With the ACL tear to starting TE James O’Shaughnessy, the Jags will look to Swaim to fill the void at the TE spot for the remainder of the season. With the absence of O’Shaughnessy, this vacates 20 targets so far on the young season. We know Swaim is a good receiving TE from his Dallas days, and he was a monster in the preseason having a 3-TD game as well. If you want a sleeper pick-up at the TE position, then Swaim could be your guy.

D/ST

1.) San Francisco (58% (+19) YAHOO – 48.4% (+21.6) ESPN)- The Niners have a shut-down game on the Cleveland Browns and the it seems that everyone unloaded them due to their match up this week with the Rams. I know I also have a few Rams in this here article, but this Niners D is really, good. A few of the INTs from last week were tip balls, however the Niners are 2nd in total defense, only under the Pats D. We know Goff is going to try to air it out, with, count on a pick or two, and count on lots of drop-backs that could result in Joey Bosa planting his flag in Goff’s ass for a strip-sack as well.

2.) Denver (39% (+10) YAHOO – 24.1% (+1.2) ESPN)- Denver’s D hasn’t been the daunting D that we have known them to be in the past this season, but they are still 7th out of 32 teams in total defense so far. This week they get a porous offense in the Tennessee Titans at Mile-High Stadium. I believe they should be able to contain this offense, hopefully get a few sacks, and cause a fumble or two. Not a must-add, but if you must stream a D, I don’t mind DEN this week.
