Fantasy Baseball 2025 Two-Start Pitchers & Streaming Starters - Week 25

We are heading into the final two weeks of the regular season, and thus winding up the 2025 Fantasy Baseball season. It is certainly a fine time to take advantage of those Fantasy Baseball 2025 two-start pitchers that can provide a pair of pitching efforts that bolster your ratio numbers and add to those valuable counting stats. There are also a good number of Fantasy Baseball 2025 streaming starters to consider plucking off the waiver wire and slotting into your rotations for some fantasy goodness.

Please realize that these articles feature most recent rotation information available when the article is written, but that circumstances do change due to weather conditions, injuries and general craziness with managers. If a pitcher listed here as having two starts ends up with one (or perhaps none) in the upcoming week, apologies but this article is meant to provide analysis, it is up to the manager to set the lineups or rotations.

Without further ado, here are this week’s two start pitchers:

This set of 14 two-start SPs should certainly be inserted into your team’s rotations to take advantage of both their trips to toe the rubber in Week 25. No better time than the present to beef up your teams roto numbers as you work to finish strong in your 2025 fantasy baseball leagues. Plus them in, and reap the benefits, without concerning yourself about opponent or venue.

Despite tossing a couple of quality starts (QS) over his last three trips to the hill, Strider has only a pair of losses to show for his efforts. He has turned things around recently, though, with a 3.00 ERA and 1.22 WHIP accumulated over those 18.0 IP. The 12:8 K/BB ratio is not anything spectacular, and he is pitching on the road for both his Week 25 starts, so there are concerns about using him for his dual trips to toe the rubber.

Flaherty continues to offer his owners excellent strikeout production, evidenced by his 10.6 K/9 rate over his 151.2 IP in 2025 to date. He has been a Jekyll and Hyde SP this season, tossing a beauty of a game only to follow that up with a frustrating multiple-run allowed contest. He has a pair of home games on tap in Week 25, and that plays to his strength, as well as that of his team, who truly enjoy playing at Comerica Park.

Taillon should be back to full performance levels, although his first game after coming off the IL saw him limited to just 4.1 IP. He also only racked up a pair of Ks, his lowest total production in that area since mid-June. Two road contests are not ideal, given his home/road splits this season. The second of his two starts at The Great American Ballpark in Cincy is his least promising outing this scoring period, if you were to use discretion in plugging him into your lineup.

Seymour has allowed just four earned runs over the course of his three starts for the Rays, and he has collected 21 Ks over those 15.1 IP. He has a pair of tough matchups in store this coming week, and despite the contests being played in Florida at his home park, his home/road splits are not entirely positive in that respect.

Alexander has tossed four QS since the beginning of August, as part of the seven starts he has accumulated over that stretch. The 35:9 K/BB ratio over those trips to the bump match well with his ratio numbers: 2.20 ERA and 0.98 WHIP over 41.0 IP. Although his stats at home are not fantastic, the two opponents are both significantly sub-.500 when playing on the road, so that may even things out a bit for his two upcoming trips to scrape the slab.

Early was dominant in his first start for Boston, fanning 11 of the Athletics’ hitters over his five-inning victory. Not a surprise, as he has demonstrated a propensity to miss bats in his minor league efforts. His matchups are not easy, as he is taking on a pair of SPs that are also members of the middle tier. A two-start week is not guaranteed, so keep an eye on his success or lack thereof in the rematch against the A’s early in the coming week.

Littell has tossed four QS amidst his last seven trips to the hill, but has but one victory (six no decisions) to show for that production. He is at best an average K producer, and his trend in allowing opposing hitters to deposit baseballs in the stands at home is concerning. So, his first contest on the road looks to be the better of his two trips to the bump to slide him into your fantasy rotation, especially given the Cubs' power numbers this season.

Springs' road warrior tendencies land him in the middle tier, although he does have a bad habit of handing out dingers to opposing hitters on a regular basis (1.8 HR/9). In his three starts before being tagged early by the visiting Red Sox, he posted a useful 3.18 ERA and 1.12 WHIP, and the hope in featuring him in this group is that his skills when on a foreign diamond will play out in Week 25.

Not a huge number of arms to avoid this week, but certainly these SPs are not those you want to head into the final weeks of the fantasy season relying upon to shore up your rotations. The suggestion is to avoid the temptation of their dual start status to avoid damaging your ratios while not collection great counting stats.

Potential Streaming Options for Week 25

There is no promise that each game day will provide a streaming option. First of all, the pitcher must be available in at least 50% of leagues to be a viable candidate to snag off the wire. Then, the pitchers discussed above are not included as they have a different sort of value, even though some might be available as free agents in your league. Plus, some days the matchups and/or venues just do not figure as positive enough factors to favor plugging the arm into your rotation, even for one start. That all being said, here are this week’s best Fantasy Baseball 2025 Streaming Starters candidates:

Zebby Matthews Minnesota Twins vs New York Yankees

The host Angels roughed up the 25-year-old right-hander to the tune of five earned runs and took the loss in a 4.2 IP effort. He has been more effective when dealing from the hill in his home park this season, though, so despite a less than ideal matchup, he should at a minimum generate some K production against the free-swinging Yankee hitters.

Shane Smith Chicago White Sox vs Baltimore Orioles

Tyler Wells Baltimore Orioles @ Chicago White Sox

Our only contest where both sides of the pitching matchup deserve consideration as streaming options. The rookie right-hander Smith is coming off a strong effort against the visiting Rays, holding them to a scoreless over 5.2 IP. He has collected three victories in his last four times atop the hill, compiling a superb 2.25 ERA and 0.71 WHIP during the course of those 24.0 IP.

On the other side of the pitching matchup, the veteran Wells has allowed just three earned runs in his two starts since returning to action this season, compiling an attractive 2.31 ERA and 0.60 WHIP over his admittedly limited 11.2 IP this season.

Eduardo Rodriguez, Arizona Diamondbacks vs San Francisco Giants

The Arizona southpaw is working on a three-game win streak, where each of those victories were also QS efforts. He offers good K production, although his control is a concern: 8.5 K/9, 3.6 BB/9 over his 137.1 IP to date.

Joey Cantillo, Cleveland Guardians @ Detroit Tigers

The second-year rookie has now collected wins in three of his last four outings, and went 8.0 IP to defeat the visiting Royals, holding them scoreless in that game. He has been more effective when pitching away from his home park in Cleveland, and he is an excellent source of strikeouts with his 10.3 K/9 rate over his season-long 80.1 IP in relief and as a starter.

Johan Oviedo, Pittsburgh Pirates vs Chicago Cubs

The 27-year-old righty has been stingy with the runs allowed over his five starts since the beginning of August, holding opponents to just six earned tallies. His most recent effort on the bump dropped his ERA to 2.70 on the season, and despite the three free passes he handed out, also lowered his WHIP to a superior 1.10. Be advised that his peripheral metrics do indicate that a negative adjustment may be in his future.

Justin Verlander, San Francisco Giants @ Arizona Diamondbacks

The veteran right-hander was denied a victory after collecting a win in his previous two starts, despite holding the host Cards scoreless over 6.0 IP on three hits. He has collected 21 whiffs over his last 17.0 IP. He has been steadily pushing his ERA down, which now sits at a not-unattractive 4.09 on the year.

Stephen Kolek, Kansas City Royals vs Seattle Mariners

The import from San Diego will not wow you with his strikeout production, but he has been able to limit opponents to just three earned runs over his last two starts, comprising 13.0 IP. The Mariners are well under .500 on the road, a positive aspect to this contest for the Royal righty.

Martin Perez, Chicago White Sox vs Baltimore Orioles

September arrived roughly for the veteran southpaw, seeing him yield six earned runs to the host Tigers. Prior to that, however, in his four starts to close out August, he had held opponents to just three earned tallies while striking out nearly a batter per frame: 21 Ks over 21.2 IP. He has been exceptionally effective at home this year, so this matchup promises a return to what he was flashing at the end of August.

Randy Vasquez, San Diego Padres @ New York Mets

The 26-year-old right-hander has won his two starts since returning to the rotation in San Diego, both victories qualifying as QS as he lasted 6.0 IP in each contest. Of course, both were against the Rockies, and his nine Ks in the most recent trip to the bump are likely an aberration, as his strikeout rate over the course of the season is severely sub-average (5.2 K/9 over 123.1 IP). He takes on a tougher opponent when he heads to the Big Apple but he is the best streaming option on a day with a reduced slate of games.

Luis Severino, A’s @ Pittsburgh Pirates

The veteran righty racked up seven Ks over the 5.0 IP he tossed in Anaheim against the Angels, taking a no-decision for his efforts. He has been decidedly a road warrior this season, so heading to Pittsburgh to climb the hill in PNC Park plays to his strengths in this contest.

Patrick Corbin, Texas Rangers vs Miami Marlins

The 36-year-old southpaw had been struggling on the hill until his most recent start, where he came within one out of twirling a QS against the in-state rival Astros. Here he takes on a team that, while not terrible on the road, is still a sub-.500 squad as a visiting opponent. His home/road splits weigh heavily in his favor, as well.

Bryce Elder, Atlanta Braves @ Detroit Tigers

The 26-year-old right-hander over his last four games has been excellent, sporting a 1.37 ERA and 0.76 WHIP through those 26.1 IP. This follows a disastrous outing where he allowed eight earned tallies to the visiting Pale Hose. He has only yielded one long ball over those four contests, while compiling a useful 21:5 K/BB ratio. This is not a great matchup in regards to the opponent, but he has been more effective as a road pitcher this season.

Michael Burrows, Pittsburgh Pirates vs A’s

The second-year righty has only been able to acquire one victory over the course of his last five trips to toe the rubber, yet he has been highly successful with a 1.50 ERA and 1.17 WHIP over those 18.0 IP. The 19:5 K/BB ratio over those contests is appealing for fantasy value, too. Realize, though, that the A’s are only a game under .500 on the road as of the scripting of this article.

Miles Mikolas, St. Louis Cardinals vs Milwaukee Brewers

The veteran righty has strung together three nice efforts while toeing the rubber, holding opponents to just four earned runs over those 16.0 IP. The K numbers are well-below average, but his control is above-average: 3.9 K/9, 1.7 BB/9 over that stretch of action on the hill. He has not faced the Brewers since mid-June, where he managed to hold them to two earned tallies over 6.0 IP, and that was in Milwaukee while this game is a home affair for the 37-year-old.

Jacob Latz, Texas Rangers vs Miami Marlins

The southpaw is ensconced in the Ranger rotation, with Nathan Eovaldi now sidelined for the balance of the season due to shoulder issues. He has pitched commendably whether as a starter or in relief, gathering a valuable 2.91 ERA over 74.1 combined IP, and a useful 1.24 WHIP. A home start is a major plus for the 29-year-old hurler.

Slade Cecconi, Cleveland Guardians @ Minnesota Twins

The third-year righthander was dominant in tossing his 10th QS of the season, going 8.0 shutout IP, allowing just a single hit to the visiting Royals. He has been slightly better when dealing from a road mound, so this contest will see if he can again stymie the KC bats.
