Today, we have plenty of talent on the diamond and many different ways to build your lineup. Our expert analysis is here to guide you through the top pitchers, value plays, and stackable offenses to target.
Whether chasing big GPP prizes or grinding cash games, we’ve got you covered with insights tailored to today’s matchups. Let’s jump right into the key plays and strategies to dominate the slate!
This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.
The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.
The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.
The stacks section will bring you are favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers
Let's get into today's core pitching plays for our DFS lineups
Core MLB DFS Pitchers
Paul Skenes, Pittsburgh Pirates
The best pitcher in the league this year in an advantagous spot. The Orioles have improved against lefties and have been a shell of themselves against righties since the trade deadline. Lock and load Skenes.
Chris Sale, Atlanta Braves
It's hard to imagine Chris Sale ever pitching poorly to be honest. He's just so good. Sale has a 31.8% K-rate this year and has made two starts since missing two months of time due to injury and has dominated his opponents. He has 18 strikeouts in those two starts and has allowed just 1 ER in each. He's the best pitcher on the board.
Logan Gilbert, Seattle Mariners
You can split this season into two for Logan Gilbert. One season at home and one season on the road. He's at home here, so this is the good part of the year. He's allowed a .141 AVG and pitched to a 2.15 ERA in Seattle and his opponents are hitting .271 while he pitches to a 5.29 ERA on the road. He faces the team ranking dead last in multiple offensive categories against right-handed pitching since the All-Star break.
Blake Snell, Los Angeles Dodgers
Outside of his last start, Blake Snell has been a very good pitcher this season. He misses bats, he's pitching deeper into games, and puts himself in line for a win basically every start and there should be plenty of win equity here. Since the All-Star break on the road against lefties, the Rockies are 26th or worse in OPS, wOBA, and wRC+. Snell's a solid play at this price point.
Nick Pivetta, San Diego Padres
Since the All-Star break, there is nothing that the Reds are doing too well. They're doing nothing well at all. They're 18th or worse in every offensive category and are striking out 23% of the time against righties. Hard to ignore the sub-3 ERA and 26% K-rate in this matchup.
Tyler Wells, Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles right-hander is making his second start of the year and his first start went very well. He threw 85 pitches and 65 of them were for strikes. He gets an awful Pirates offense in this one and it's a really fantastic matchup for him to get through six innings and register a quality start.
Jose Berrios, Toronto Blue Jays
Since the All-Star break, the Houston Astros offense really hasn't been good at all. In fact, over that span, they're 24th or worse in OPS, ISO, wOBA, and wRC+. Jose Berrios hasn't been great, but there aren't many good value options today and he does have a ceiling. He also could get absolutely torched because that's the Jose Berrios experience. GPPs only.

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters
Let's check out today's core plays to build our lineups around.
Core MLB DFS Hitters
Dodgers Get Kyle Freeland Matchup
The Dodgers offense is coming alive and head into Wednesday's game with a matchup against Kyle Freeland. Freeland is coming off his best game of the year, but this is a different beast.
Freeland has been crushed by right-handed hitters this year allowing 19 of his 21 homers against them while allowing a .303 and a .360 wOBA. Lefties are hitting .280 as well, just not hitting for as much power this year as righties are.
Of course you can play Shohei Ohtani from the left side, but let's look at the righties here because that's the sweetspot. Numbers vs. LHP;
- Mookie Betts - .163 ISO, .153 xISO, .317 wOBA, .331 xwOBA
- Will Smith - .194 ISO, .240 xISO, .368 wOBA, .388 xwOBA
- Teoscar Hernandez - .258 ISO, .218 xISO, .361 wOBA, .348 xwOBA
- Tommy Edman - .257 ISO, .189 xISO, .314 wOBA, .342 xwOBA
- Kike Hernandez - .207 ISO, .273 xISO, .302 wOBA, .350 xwOBA
- Alex Call - .146 ISO, .171 xISO, .332 wOBA, .345 xwOBA
Mariners Might (Will) Mash McGreevy
Lefties have really given Michael McGreevy issues this year. Lefties have slashed .318/.364/.530 with a .382 against him. Righties haven't had the same success, but they fit the stack well and some of the Mariners best hitters are on the right side.
Top lefties we're looking at: Cal Raleigh, Jorge Polanco, Josh Naylor
Top righties we're looking at: Randy Arozarena, Julio Rodriguez, Eugenio Suarez
Braves Have HR Upside
The Cubs are getting Jameson Taillon off the IL for this start and he's allowed a LOT of home runs this year. In fact, he's allowing a career-high 1.95 HR/9 this season.
Righties are slightly better this year averaging 2.3 HR/9, .250 ISO, and have a 48.5% FB rate. Lefties aren't bad at 1.6 HR/9 and have a .193 ISO but a .213 xISO.
Braves best home runs threats vs. RHP;
- Ronald Acuna - .242 ISO, .297 xISO, 13 HR
- Matt Olson - .211 ISO, .252 xISO, 19 HR
- Jurickson Profar - .229 ISO, .195 xISO, 10 HR
- Drake Baldwin - .161 ISO, .201 xISO, 11 HR
- Marcell Ozuna - .181 ISO, .233 xISO, 17 HR
Yankees Ceiling Through the Roof IF Flaherty Stinks
Look, Jack Flaherty has a really high ceiling and could absolutely destroy this stack quite easily. THAT BEING SAID, he's also been bad more than he's been good.
vs. LH - .179 ISO, .186 xISO, .337 wOBA, .345 xwOBA
vs. RH - .159 ISO, .185 xISO, .300 wOBA, .299 xwOBA
ALL six projected lefties in the Yankees lineup tonight have a .200 ISO or better against righties - Trent Grisham, Cody Bellinger, Jazz Chisholm, Ben Rice, Austin Wells, Ryan McMahon
Obviously, that Aaron Judge guy is pretty good. So is Giancarlo Stanton.
Top One Offs/Mini-Stacks
- Vladimir Guerrero, George Springer & Daulton Varsho, Toronto Blue Jays
- Yordan Alvarez, Houston Astros
- Junior Caminero, Brandon Lowe & Josh Lowe, Tampa Bay Rays
- Jakob Marsee, Xavier Edwards & Agustin Ramirez, Miami Marlins
- Kyle Schwarber & Bryce Harper, Philadelphia Phillies
