Today, we have plenty of talent on the diamond and many different ways to build your lineup. Our expert analysis is here to guide you through the top pitchers, value plays, and stackable offenses to target.
Whether chasing big GPP prizes or grinding cash games, we’ve got you covered with insights tailored to today’s matchups. Let’s jump right into the key plays and strategies to dominate the slate!
This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.
The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.
The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.
The stacks section will bring you are favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

MLB DFS Picks & MLB Playbook
MLB Weather: Tuesday, 7/22
Chicago White Sox @ Tampa Bay Rays
There are storms in the Tampa Bay area and there are multiple outcomes because of it. There could be a postponement, there could be a delay, or this game could play clean. It's 50/50 at this point.
St. Louis Cardinals @ Colorado Rockies
There's a chance that there is a delay today but this game should play in full.

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers
Let's get into today's core pitching plays for our DFS lineups
Core MLB DFS Pitchers
Jacob Misiorowski, Milwaukee Brewers
It is what it is; Jacob Misiorowski is here to stay. He has a massive ceiling, especially if they're gonna let him pitch deeper into games like they did last time out as he threw 91 pitches. He had 12 K last time out and has had 5+ Ks in all but one start this year. He's put up 22+ DKP in four of his five starts, too. He's super elite and it's not too expensive.
Jacob deGrom, Texas Rangers
The only way the Athletics beat you these days is by the home run ball. Over the last 30 days, he Athletics have a .203 ISO but at the same time they have nearly a 26% K-rate against right-handed pitchers. deGrom hasn't allowed many long balls this season, which obviously benefits him in this spot. deGrom is significantly higher owned than everyone else by a significant number.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Los Angeles Dodgers
I don't understand the DK price tag all that much but that's not for me to worry about and just attack it. He put up 26+ DKP in three of his last four starts. The Twins are a very average offense as they rank 17th in OPS over the last month against right-handed pitchers. On the year they're 20th in OPS and wOBA and 22nd in wRC+ against right-handed pitching. Yamamoto is in line for a ceiling game.
Matthew Boyd, Chicago Cubs
This is an interesting spot because over the last month, the Royals have been one of the best offenses in the league against lefties but while that's all true, they have a 27.5% K-rate over that same span. If Boyd can miss a bunch of bats – and avoid Salvador Perez  – he can put up a big number. Boyd hasn't allowed more than 2 ER in any start since My 23rd. It's July 22nd.
Max Scherzer, Toronto Blue Jays
This is risky. Absolutely no doubt. We don't know when he's going to lose feeling in his finger, but when he's pitched he's been good. The Yankees are also a top-five offense but there's a bunch of strikeout in the lineup. GPPs only.
Davis Daniel, Atlanta Braves
There's a lack of value options on today's slate, so let's take a little look at Davis Daniel. It's as much about the Giants as it is about Daniel, however, as the Giants have been 18th or worse in OPS, wOBA, and wRC+ against right-handed pitching over the last month. Daniel threw 73 pitches his last time out and that should get a nice bump from there in this one.

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters
Let's check out today's core plays to build our lineups around.
Core MLB DFS Hitters
Cardinals Fly High
The Cardinals are going to extremely popular once again so let's see if they're able to pay it off tonight. They face off against Bradley Blalock who struggles against both righties and lefties.
LH - .260 ISO, .236 xISO, .460 wOBA, .383 xwOBA
RH - .195 ISO, .212 xISO, .377 wOBA, .367 xwOBA
We'll see if Alec Burleson suits up after leaving with a knee injury but he's elite if he plays. So is Brendan Donovan (.198 xISO, .379 wOBA, .401 xwOBA), Willson Contreras (.223 xISO, .356 xwOBA), and Ivan Herrera (.140 xISO, .330 wOBA)
I'm good if you throw in Victor Scott, Nolan Arenado, or Mason Winn too.
Rockies are Fedde Up
After a good start that suggested a blow-up was coming, the blow up is here. He's allowed 3 ER or more in four straight starts, twice over that span he allowed 7 ER, and once he couldn't make it out of the second inning. He takes his struggles into Coors Field and that's a recipe for disaster, or a recipe for success if you're using Rockies against him.
LH - 5.36 xFIP, .174 ISO, .212 xISO, .350 wOBA, .386 xwOBA
RH - 5.32 xFIP, .137 ISO, .180 xISO, .317 wOBA, .362 xwOBA
There are a bunch of Rockies I'd get to today. Here are some numbers vs. RHP;
- Mickey Moniak: .286 ISO, .225 xISO, .372 wOBA, .346 xwOBA, 13 HR
- Ryan McMahon: .205 ISO, .256 xISO, .325 wOBA, .350 wOBA, 13 HR
- Ezequiel Tovar: .171 ISO, .184 xISO, .319 wOBA, .332 xwOBA
- Tyler Freeman: .124 ISO, .130 xISO, .409 wOBA, .386 xwOBA
- Hunter Goodman: .223 ISO, .197 xISO, .359 wOBA, 12 HR
Cubs Facing 45-year Old Rich Hill
Rich Hill is 45 years old. 45 years old and is pitching in a major league baseball game. He's not just pitching, he's facing the Cubs, one of the best offenses in the league. At the minor league level, right-handed bats have crushed Hill. They've hit 9 HR, posting a .514 SLG% and .879 OPS. I wouldn't put it past any lefty in their lineup to tag Hill either.
Here are Cubs that rake against lefties;
- Seiya Suzuki: .284 ISO, .300 xISO, .386 wOBA, .421 xwOBA
- Nico Hoerner: .187 ISO, .394 wOBA
- Dansby Swanson: .200 ISO, .243 xISO, .336 wOBA, .359 xwOBA
- Carson Kelly: .194 ISO, .221 xISO, .335 wOBA, .378 xwOBA
- Pete Crow-Armstrong: .238 ISO, .246 xISO
- Kyle Tucker: .198 ISO, .214 xISO, .356 wOBA, .361 xwOBA
Simeon Woods Richardson can't Dodge LAD
The pricing for the Dodgers is interesting across the board and they face a pitcher that gives up a LOT of flyballs. Simeon Woods Richardson has nearly a 51% FB rate this year and his sub-4 ERA does not match his near 5 SIERA and xFIP.
Lefties have a .163 ISO & .351 wOBA against him.
Righties have a .221 xISO, 37.5% HH
Shohei Ohtani..yeah. Will Smith is coming off a double-dong and has a .222 ISO, .231 xISO, .416 wOBA, .393 xwOBA. Freddie Freeman has a .186 ISO, .207 xISO, .382 wOBA, .372 xwOBA.
Teoscar Hernandez sits at .169 ISO, .199 xISO, Andy Pages is at .220 ISO and a .350 wOBA
Houston, ERod has a Problem
Lefties, righties, Eduardo Rodriguez does not discriminate; he gives tons of hits to both splits. Lefties are hitting .363 with a .424 wOBA, while righties are at .295 with a .369 wOBA.
Cam Smith rakes lefties with a .288 ISO, .306 xISO, .436 wOBA, .443 xwOBA and should lead off tonight. Jose Altuve has a .182 ISO vs. LHP, Yainer Diaz has a .259 ISO, .270 xISO, .365 wOBA, and .407 xwOBA.
We should see Brice Matthews back in the lineup and Mauricio Dubon, Victor Caratini, and Christian Walker are all cheap as well.
Junior Caminero, Jonathan Aranda, Chandler Simpson, Tampa Bay Rays
I like some Rays tonight as Davis Martin is coming off the injured list and has to navigate a small ballpark against a very good Rays lineup that features both great righties and lefties.
Lefties have a .202 ISO and .209 xISO while righties have a .189 ISO, and .208 xISO.
Junior Caminero has dominated righties all year long, posting a .268 ISO, .358 wOBA, and has 19 HR. Jonathan Aranda has a .198 ISO, .286 xISO, .392 wOBA, and .426 xwOBA. Chandler Simpson is hitting .305 this year and is the fastest man on the planet.
