Welcome to the Fantasy Alarm MLB DFS Playbook for Monday, August 11th!

Let’s start the week on the right foot with some winning lineups today. We have a 10-game main slate in store for us this evening on DraftKings and FanDuel starting at 7:05 PM ET. Today, we have plenty of talent on the diamond and many different ways to build your lineup. Our expert analysis is here to guide you through the top pitchers, value plays, and stackable offenses to target.

Whether chasing big GPP prizes or grinding cash games, we’ve got you covered with insights tailored to today’s matchups. Let’s jump right into the key plays and strategies to dominate the slate!

This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.

The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.

The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.

The stacks section will bring you are favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

MLB DFS Picks & MLB Playbook

MLB Weather: Monday, 8/11

Detroit Tigers @ Chicago White Sox

There is a chance that the late innings in this game have some serious rain coming through, but it's 50/50 if the storms miss the stadium or not.

Washington Nationals @ Kansas City Royals

There are storms in the area and that could cause a delay, but at this moment, it doesn't seem overly concerning.

Tampa Bay Rays @ Athletics

It's going to be around 90 degrees around first pitch and it's going to have 10+ MPH winds blowing out.

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers

Let's get into today's core pitching plays for our DFS lineups

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Garrett Crochet, Boston Red Sox

This is one of the league's best pitchers and that's as straight forward as it gets. The only downside is the price because we need a baseline of 30 FP here. He's had 27+ DKP in three of his last four including a ceiling of 45.45. The Astros are good against lefties and his price is crazy, the only downside.

Nathan Eovaldi, Texas Rangers

I mean, he has a 1.38 ERA. That's real. He's allowed 17 ER over 111 IP and has struck out one better inning. Arizona's offense is obviously good and has a high ceiling, but he's shut down basically everyone he's faced this year. If he's low-owned I have a LOT of interest in GPPs.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Los Angeles Dodgers

We know the Angels have a high ceiling but since the All-Star break, they haven't been great. Since the All-Star break, the Angels are 23rd in OPS, 21st in wOBA, 24th in wRC+, and a 27% K-rate. Yamamoto has been insane lately notching 21+ DKP in four straight starts and three of them have been 25+. One of the safest plays of the day.

Ryne Nelson, Arizona Diamondbacks

This spot is pretty damn good. Since the All-Star break, the Rangers rank 27th in OPS, wOBA, wRC+ as well as a 23% K-rate against righties. Since June 13th, a span of 10 starts, Nelson has pitched to a 2.08 ERA, allowing a .201 AVG and a 23% K-rate. He's had 19+ DKP in eight of his last nine outings.

Will Warren, New York Yankees

I think Will Warren continues to be a really good pitcher that has had two bad outings this year. Warren's allowed just 3 ER over his last three outings spanning 16.2 innings while notching 16 strikeouts. He's notched at least 10 strikeouts twice this season, so we know the ceiling is there too.

Zebby Matthews, Minnesota Twins

The Yankees offense has fallen off a cliff as they're 29th in OPS, wOBA, wRC+ while striking out 23.5% of the time against right-handed pitching. Zebby Matthews has ELITE strikeout stuff as he's posted a 28.9% K-rate up to this point. His 5.17 ERA does NOT match his .375 BABIP, 3.85 xERA, 3.12 xFIP, and 3.18 SIERA.

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

Let's check out today's core plays to build our lineups around.

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Brew Crew Keep Rollin'

This spot is great and Andrew Heaney's been pitching horribly lately. Not only has he pitched poorly, he runs into the best team in the league right now. Heaney has been bad against both splits too;

vs. LH - .288 ISO, .270 xISO, .381 wOBA, .405 xwOBA

vs. RH - .199 ISO, .191 xISO, .322 wOBA, .351 xwOBA

The Brewers have a lot of elite bats against left-handed pitching

Sutter Health Park Stack

The pitchers in this game actually aren't bad, but the ballpark and weather doesn't help. Jeffrey Springs has pitched extremely well and Ryan Pepiot has pitched in a small ballpark all year considering where he's playing his home games.

Ryan Pepiot starts for TB tonight

vs. LH - .186 ISO, .162 xISO

vs. RH - .219 ISO, .202 xISO, .343 wOBA, .341 xwOBA

Just based on the numbers for Pepiot, we want the righties here: Brent Rooker, Shea Langeliers, Darnell Hernaiz, Luis Urias

Definitely OK with Nick Kurtz and Tyler Soderstrom as well.

Jeffrey Springs starts for ATH tonight..

vs. LH - .140 ISO, .160 xISO

vs. RH - .199 ISO, .190 xISO, .301 wOBA, .327 xwOBA

Just like against Ryan Pepiot, we want the righties here: Junior Caminero, Yandy Diaz, Ha-Seong Kim

Tigers are Tricky

They're an amazing team, it's just a weird spot because the Tigers pinch-hit a LOT depending on the split. The White Sox are starting the game with a righty in Elvis Peguero and then likely going lefty Tyler Alexander.

Lefties haven't done anything against Tyler Alexander this year but righties have had bad luck that could absolutely turn in this spot. A .114 ISO but a .178 xISO and a .308 wOBA but a .357 xwOBA.

The Tigers have four batters in their projected lineup that have at least a .200 ISO vs. LHP this year: Gleyber Torres, Spencer Torkelson, Wenceel Perez, Dillon Dingler.

Obviously getting Kerry Carpenter and Riley Greene into your Tigers stack is a good idea too.

White Sox Sneaky

The White Sox have been quite good lately and are doing it from both sides of the plate. They face off against against Chris Paddack who's been quite bad against both splits this year.

vs. LH - .205 ISO, .219 xISO, .322 wOBA, .356 xwOBA

vs. RH - .165 ISO, .182 xISO, .322 wOBA, .334 xwOBA

Again, there is legit interest here for some low-owned options. Yes, I'm aware what can go wrong by trusting in the White Sox, but the numbers are the numbers..

Cards Fly High

The Cardinals look really good today as they face off against Chase Dollander, who's being recalled from the minor leagues. Dollander has struggled at the major league level and also the minor league level. It's been a tough season for one of the top prospects the Rockies have.

Lefties have a .200 ISO, .221 xISO, .356 wOBA & .379 xwOBA against him.

Righties have a .192 ISO, .226 xISO, .359 wOBA, & .361 xwOBA against him.

You can play Lars Nootbaar, Alec Burleson, Nolan Gorman & Victor Scott from the left side and Ivan Herrera, Jordan Walker, and Willson Contreras from the right side.
