The first Monday of the second half of the season! We have a full Monday of games since all the teams just got a rest, giving us a 10-game main slate on both DraftKings and FanDuel starting at 7:07 PM ET. Plenty of great matchups today, and our expert analysis is here to guide you through the top pitchers, value plays, and stackable offenses to target.

Whether chasing big GPP prizes or grinding cash games, we’ve got you covered with insights tailored to today’s matchups. Let’s jump right into the key plays and strategies to dominate the slate!

This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.

The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.

The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.

The stacks section will bring you are favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

Tune into the MLB DFS Livestream at 5 PM ET to watch us break down today’s slate, give you last-minute advice, and answer any questions before locking in those lineups!

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers

Let's get into today's core pitching plays for our DFS lineups

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Kodai Senga, New York Mets

Kodai Senga has been consistently excellent all season long. He has only given up 3 earned runs in one start all season and has given up 1 or less runs in 10 of his 14 starts, giving him a 1.39 ERA in 77.2 innings with a 1.13 WHIP, despite still walking quite a few batters. He has plenty of strikeout upside as well, especially in a matchup like today against the Angels.

Shane Baz, Tampa Bay Rays

Shane Baz has been excellent recently with 4 straight quality starts and a boatload of strikeouts. Only 3 strikeouts in his last outing against Boston, but that was a red-hot Boston team, and before that, he had struck out at least 6 in five straight games, including 9, 11, and 7 in three straight starts. He gets to face the White Sox today, and I expect him to start the second half with another great outing.

Jacob Lopez, Athletics

If you are looking for a cheaper option today, I love Jacob Lopez. In his last 7 starts, he has 43 strikeouts in 35.2 innings with a 2.52 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP. He is facing a Texas Rangers offense that has been mostly disappointing this season. At this price, he brings in a lot of upside, and I think it's a great option if you don’t want to roll with the top-end guys.

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

Let's check out today's core plays to build our lineups around.

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Nick Kurtz, 1B Athletics

Nick Kurtz has come out of the gate crazy hot in the second half. In the first three games, he has 7 hits, 4 doubles, a triple, and a homer. If you go back to July 4th, he is slashing .409/.490/1.045 with 6 homers. He has the highest OPS by almost 200 points over that stretch with an OPS of 1.536 (Kyle Stowers is next closest at 1.340).

Jose Altuve, 2B Houston Astros

Jose Altuve is right up there with a top OPS since July 4th, coming in 5th on the list with an OPS of 1.249. In his last two games, he has 4 hits, 2 doubles, and 2 walks. He has a tough matchup today against Zac Gallen, but with how he has been swinging the bat and his reasonable price, I really like him at 2nd base today.

Eugenio Suarez, 3B Arizona Diamondbacks

Eugenio Suarez already has the second-most homers in a season of his entire career, with 35 homers behind only Cal Raleigh and Aaron Judge in the majors right now. He has slugged 4 homers in his last two games and has been crushing the ball all season. Colton Gordon has a 1.73 HR/9 in 52 innings this season, and I bet Eugenio continues mashing the ball against him today.

Geraldo Perdomo, SS Arizona Diamondbacks

Sticking with the Diamondbacks for my pick at SS today as well, with Perdomo against a lefty. Perdomo has been great from both sides of the plate this season, with a bit more power coming against righties but a better average against lefties. I still trust him a bit more against lefties and like him in this matchup against Gordon as well.
