Let’s start the week on the right foot with some winning lineups today. We have a 9-game main slate in store for us this evening on DraftKings and FanDuel starting at 6:40 PM ET. Today, we have plenty of talent on the diamond and many different ways to build your lineup. Our expert analysis is here to guide you through the top pitchers, value plays, and stackable offenses to target.

Whether chasing big GPP prizes or grinding cash games, we’ve got you covered with insights tailored to today’s matchups. Let’s jump right into the key plays and strategies to dominate the slate!

This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.

The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.

The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.

The stacks section will bring you are favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

MLB Weather: Monday, 6/9

Miami Marlins @ Pittsburgh Pirates

This isn't looking great, especially for pitchers, because there is a lot of rain the forecast and that could cause a lengthy delay. We'll see if the weather improves throughout the day.

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers

Let's get into today's core pitching plays for our DFS lineups

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Chris Sale, Atlanta Braves

Yeah, Chris Sale is really freakin' good. He has 22+ DKP in four straight and six of seven and while striking out at least eight in six of seven as well. The Brewers have a .670 OPS as a team against lefties and are striking out around 23% of the time.

Dustin May, Los Angeles Dodgers

I actually think there's a lot to like about Dustin May here and it's a two part reason. One, the Padres have stunk. They rank 24th in OPS over the last month against right-handed pitching. Two, May has been really good as his 4.09 ERA doesn't match 3.67 SIERA, 3.62 xFIP, and a 48.5% GB rate. May has six straight games with 5 or more strikeouts. Decent SP2 option at a nice price point.

Yusei Kikuchi, Los Angeles Angels

Over the last month, the Athletics HAVE been better than league average against lefties in OPS, but it's still a .711 team number, which is just OK. What's not OK is their subpar .112 ISO which ranks 23rd and the 25.4% K-rate they feature as well. They're also without Shea Langeliers, shrinking the lineup depth even more. This is risky as Kikuchi has largely been lucky this year.

Luis L. Ortiz, Cleveland Guardians

Sometimes guys just need a change of scenery because this version of Luis L. Ortiz is not what we got in Pittsburgh. He's missing a ton of bats notching a 25.4% K-rate and could actually be a little better when you factor in his SIERA at 3.98 and xFIP at 3.62. He's also an elite groundball artist which could help keep the ball in the yard, because that's what the Reds have done lately against righties. Hopefully Ortiz can limit the lefties because that's been his primary issue.

Eury Perez, Miami Marlins

This one is tricky because on one hand, I absolutely LOVE Eury Perez and am so glad he's back. He's returning in an ELITE matchup, too. That being said, there's a lot of rain in the forecast and for his first start to come in that weather after not pitching in the MLB since 2023 due to Tommy John, the Marlins could really proceed with caution here. If the weather doesn't improve, it might be a full fade for me.

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

Let's check out today's core plays to build our lineups around.

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Jose Ramirez, Lane Thomas & David Fry, Cleveland Guardians

Although the Guardians don't rate out too well against left-handed pitching this year, Jose Ramirez has elite numbers against them and David Fry has only had 17 at-bats against them this year. Both Ramirez and Fry, just last year, had an OPS of .996 or higher and .278 ISO or higher as well. Wade Miley is 38 and looked bad in his debut outing, firing up an 89 MPH fastball that he threw 58% of the time. Lane Thomas and his lefty-mashing ways is back too!

Rays Lefties + Junior Caminero

Lefties have been a thorn in Brayan Bello's side for years and 2025 is no different. .292 AVG, .850 OPS, .186 xISO are the numbers. It's also hard to stack Tampa Bay without Junior Caminero who hits righties extremely well posting a .285 ISO against them. Brandon Lowe has a .285 ISO and .373 wOBA while Jonathan Aranda has a .207 ISO and .413 wOBA against righties.

Pairing those three plus Josh Lowe (if leading off), Kameron Misner, Jake Mangum, and Matt Thaiss would complete the stack.

Can Today's Braves be the Braves we Hope the Braves will be?

Every piece of contact Aaron Civale has allowed this year has been in the air, allowing a 53% FB compared to a 23.5% FB rate. He's allowed a 36% HH as well and is over 2 HR/9. The Braves have a lot of potential damage in their lineup. Here are some of the options today vs. RHP;

Angels Power is Sprung

This one is interesting and the Angels are a wildly inconsistent team, but they hit a lot of extra base hits. Since May 9th, which is the last 30 days, they're second in ISO against left-handed pitching. That's just what they do. They also strike out a lot and have a low floor, but the matchup against Jeffrey Springs is good for what they do.

Springs has allowed 10 HR to RHH along with a 1.66 HR/9, 4.75 xFIP, 46.7% FB, 12.8% HR/FB, and 32.9% HH.

Zach Neto has a .400 ISO against southpaws. Taylor Ward has a .265 ISO with an xISO of .336. Logan O'Hoppe owns a .360 ISO and robust .545 xISO. Jo Adell's .172 ISO and .201 xISO isn't too shabby either. Adding in Mike Trout and possibly a punt of Chris Taylor could round out a solid stack.

Diamondbacks

The Diamondbacks have been one of the league's best teams against right-handed pitching from pillar to post. Six of their seven projected top hitters have at least a .180 ISO and Corbin Carroll, Ketel Marte, and Eugenio Suarez all up over .300.

Lefties have had more success against Hancock, especially with the power, as he's allowed a .212 ISO and .204 xISO while righties do have a .358 wOBA and .358 xwOBA against him.

Jacob Wilson & Brent Rooker, Athletics

I wrote up Yusei Kikuchi, but I'm also not against using bats against him. There are two specifically I'd go out of my way playing but not totally opposed to using more because of the luck Kikuchi has had. Righties have a .346 wOBA, 5.15 xFIP, 1.34 HR/9, 42% FB, and 35% HH rate.

Insert Jacob Wilson who's hitting .422 against lefties this year and Brent Rooker who's batting .347 with a .367 ISO and .486 wOBA.
