MLB Injury Report: Starting Pitchers

Tarik Skubal, Detroit Tigers - Side

Detroit seems to have avoided a bullet here with Skubal. It’s being reported that everything came back clean, and his next start isn’t in any jeopardy at the moment.

Roki Sasaki, Los Angeles Dodgers - Shoulder/Calf

Right when the Dodgers had to seemingly make a decision on what to do with Sasaki, a calf issue popped up, and he’ll need to make another start at Triple-A. I’m not saying that there wasn’t a calf issue, but would it shock anyone?

Lance McCullers, Houston Astros - Hand

As unfortunate as it is, McCullers is heading back to a place he knows all too well - the injured list. The most recent culprit is hand soreness, and it popped up after his last start.

Tyler Mahle, Texas Rangers - Shoulder

It’s expected that Mahle’s next start will come with the Rangers, and per Roster Resource, he’s slated to be the Friday starter at home against the Miami Marlins.

Trevor Rogers, Baltimore Orioles - Toe

A blood blister on his toe forced Rogers out of action early in his last time out, but the injury isn’t serious, and his next start should take place as scheduled.

MLB Injury Report: Relief Pitchers

Jose Alvarado, Philadelphia Phillies - Forearm

Alvarado is dealing with a forearm strain, and he was placed on the injured list. Since he was already ineligible for postseason play, this will effectively end his 2025 season.

MLB Injury Report: Hitters

Will Smith, Los Angeles Dodgers - Hand

Well, it took the Dodgers long enough. He’s played one game in the past 10 days, and he was just placed on the injured list with a bone bruise that has been bothering him.

Corey Seager, Texas Rangers - Appendectomy

Seager seems to be ahead of schedule in his recovery timeline, and the hope is that Seager can return before the end of the week.

Jose Altuve, Houston Astros - Foot

Altuve missed Sunday’s game after exiting early on Saturday. He is dealing with some discomfort in his right foot and should be considered day-to-day.

Masyn Winn, St. Louis Cardinals - Knee

Winn was going to try to gut it out the rest of the way, but those plans have changed. He has been shut down and will undergo a procedure to address his torn meniscus.

Alec Bohm, Philadelphia Phillies - Shoulder

Phillies fans can circle the 18th on their calendar, as the expectation is that he’ll be activated once first eligible.

Nolan Arenado, St. Louis Cardinals - Shoulder

Barring any last-minute setback, Arenado is expected to return to the St. Louis lineup on Monday. He hasn’t played since the end of July due to a shoulder strain.

Tyler Soderstrom, Athletics - Groin

Soderstrom is day-to-day with groin tightness.

Zach Neto, Los Angeles Angels - Wrist

Soreness in his left wrist has popped back up of late and has kept him out of action the past few games. Consider him day to day.

Owen Caissie, Chicago Cubs - Concussion

Caissie suffered a concussion when colliding with the wall on Saturday, and he was placed on the seven-day concussion list.
