This week’s fantasy baseball waiver wire is absolutely loaded with pitching talent I can’t even contain myself. Logan Henderson being called up, Jared Jones making rehab starts, and Kyle Harrison slicing and dicing every lineup he faces like he’s the fruit ninja. There are some talented bats on the waiver wire, headlined by a call-up of the 2024 first overall pick, Travis Bazzana. Let’s look into the fantasy baseball waiver wire as we head into the SEVENTH week of the fantasy season already!

Top Waiver Wire Targets at a Glance

Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Infielders

Miguel Vargas, Chicago White Sox

63% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy

FAAB - 8-10%

This is not a .216 hitter long term. Even if Miguel Vargas only hits around .240-.250, he’s going to be an elite fantasy option at a desolate position.

Vargas has been elite lately, over the last two weeks especially, slashing .318/.464/.614 while belting four home runs and swiping two bags. Vargas’ ability to put up crooked numbers in multiple different areas makes him extremely valuable.

Travis Bazzana, Cleveland Guardians

31% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy

FAAB - 6-8%

The signs are there that Travis Bazzana is going to be the absolute truth at the big league level and we’ve only seen him through four games. He has an elite batters eye that’s on full display and has power/speed combination. He has a 27.8% BB% and a .111 BABIP, so he’s moments away from being on base ALL the time. He played against a lefty on Saturday and that’s basically all we needed to see to know he’s playing every day from here on out. Go get Bazzana now.

Cole Young, Seattle Mariners

27% Rostered on Yahoo Fantasy

FAAB - 3-4%

There are few players in the league that bat ninth that have this type of production. He has 19 RBI and 20 runs scored and is hitting ninth every day. Colt Emerson is the talk of the town and how good he’s going to be when he’s called up, but let’s not forget that Young was a top-35 prospect across major league baseball just last season. He’s no slouch either. He has real power and decent speed at a weak second base position.

Casey Schmitt, San Francisco Giants

16% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy

FAAB - 2-3%

Not only does Casey Schmitt have really elite positional eligibility, but he’s absolutely raking this year. He’s hitting .300 on the year and the Giants are hitting him in the heart of their order as he’s hit third, fourth, or fifth in 13 straight games. Everything looks pretty damn real, too.

Schmitt’s a decent power guy and should continue to stick in the middle of the order. Circling back to his positional eligibility, he is playable at 2B and 3B and those are two of the worst positions on the board this season.

Nathaniel Lowe, Cincinnati Reds

7% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy

FAAB - 2-3%

I’m not going to act like we’re going to get 2022 Nathaniel Lowe when he was a 27-74-76 guy while hitting .302, but he’s hitting every day in the middle of the Reds order and has been wildly productive. He’s not a qualified hitter this year, but all of his baseball savant numbers are 90th percentile or better. He’s been elite. He’s available in over 90% of Yahoo! Fantasy Leagues as well. He’s a guy you’re going to add and simply right the hot hand because at Age-30, he’s not suddenly the second coming of Aaron Judge, but he has fantasy value playing in an elite hitting environment that is Great American Ballpark.

Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Outfielders

Mickey Moniak, Colorado Rockies

56% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy

FAAB - 8-10%

After breaking out in 2025, ‘26 has been kind if not even better for Mickey Moniak. He’s already belted nine bombs and has 17 runs scored and 18 more batted in. Moniak’s .351 ISO is unlikely sustainable but the fact that he plays his home games at Coors Field is a huge boost. Moniak’s a solid addition if you’re looking for a power surge.

Trent Grisham, New York Yankees

39% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy

FAAB - 6-7%

I’m buying Trent Grisham stock, not selling. It’s been an incredibly fascinating season for Grisham because every single metric tells us he’s better than a .168 player and yet, here we are.

Grisham hit .235 last year and that was more than fine because he also belted 35 bombs and had an OPS north of .800. His metrics don’t look much different than last year and in fact, he’s squaring baseballs up far more this year than he did last year. He’s hitting everything harder than he did last year too. A .160 BABIP doesn’t help and that should course correct soon, which will mean the hits will start coming for Grisham.

Carlos Cortes, Athletics

28% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy

FAAB - 3-4%

Where is this coming from, you ask? Nobody knows. But ride the Carlos Cortes bandwagon while we can. Look at how elite this guy has been this year.

He hit .309 across 94 at-bats last year and has followed it up with a .387 AVG and 1.092 OPS through 75 this season. Cortes plays his home games in a minor league stadium and hits in the middle of the Athletics lineup. Cortes has been an elite bat-to-ball guy and puts everything in play.

Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pitchers

Kyle Harrison, Milwaukee Brewers

60% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy

FAAB - 9-10%

Kyle Harrison did it again. He absolutely shoved and the former top-25 prospect back in 2024 has put everyone on notice. He’s now tossed back-to-back quality starts allowing just one run and has posted a 17:2 K:BB ratio.

Harrison’s yet to allow more than two earned runs in any singular start this year and continues to be a reliable source of fantasy goodness start after start.

Jared Jones, Pittsburgh Pirates

30% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy

FAAB - 6-7%

The adrenaline was clearly pumping for Jared Jones in his first rehab start of the year because he was consistently throwing 100 MPH fastballs across his three innings of work. During those three innings, Jones was perfect and struck out five batters.

He still has multiple rehab starts to go before he’s back on the mound for the Pirates, but he was a 9.8 K/9 guy in 2024 and that was as a rookie. Jones is a must-stash now and reap the rewards later addition.

Logan Henderson, Milwaukee Brewers

13% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy

FAAB - 4-5%

The time for Logan Henderson is now. There will not be another one (hopefully). He’s decimating all opponents at Triple-A and has a 13.3 K/9. He needs to walk fewer batters, but that’s the only negative you can possibly look at.

Henderson has been called up and will start today and should stick around considering the Brewers had two injuries this week between Brandon Woodruff and Jacob Misiorowski. Misorowski’s injury is far less concerning, but Woodruff, with another arm injury, is a big concern.

Sean Burke, Chicago White Sox

16% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy

FAAB - 4-5%

Man, Sean Burke has been GREAT this season. He had another fantastic performance on Saturday as he shut the Padres down across six innings while striking out eight. Burke has pitched to a 2.72 ERA and has had an elevated ground ball rate, which has helped him a lot this year.

Burke’s breakout could be due to a change in pitch mix;

And it’s working, because the increase in sinker volume is a big reason as to why the ground balls are up. Burke is definitely someone to keep our eyes on.

Jack Perkins, Athletics

15% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy

FAAB - 2-3%

Despite the Athletics bullpen being quite bad this year, Jack Perkins has been a bright spot for them. He’s up to three saves on the year and has 11.5 K/9. With your bullpen arms, you want strikeouts. That’s what Perkins can provide you. He’s always had a little bit of a control issue but he’s honed that in a BIG way as he’s cut his walks in half from a year ago. Perkins is arguably the best closer available this week.

Jacob Latz, Texas Rangers

26% Rostered on Yahoo! Fantasy

FAAB - 2-3%

So I guess Jacob Latz is officially the closer? But we thought that with Jakob Junis when he was picking up saves for the Rangers and we obviously have seen how that went. Despite the doubt, Latz has picked up three straight save opportunities. He’s been pretty good but the luck seems absolutely unsustainable considering his .093 BABIP and 90.9% left on base. He’s not a big strikeout arm either and if you’re desperate for saves, he’s an option for you.
