Best MLB Stolen Base Picks Today:
Locking in the best stolen base predictions means finding the absolute perfect storm of a high-on-base runner and a weak battery. Here are our top two MLB stolen base picks today for Thursday, June 11:
Favorite Bets:
Jake McCarthy, Colorado Rockies (+253) – Let’s keep an eye out for the lineups to not only make sure McCarthy is starting but that he’s also back in the leadoff spot. He was scratched from Wednesday’s game due to an illness, though he did make a late-game appearance as a defensive replacement. Prior to the scratch, he had been hitting well and warranted consideration for a stolen base, so we’ll go to him today with Edward Cabrera on the bump for the Cubs. Cabrera has allowed the most stolen bases on today’s slate, and his primary backstop, Carson Kelly, has just a 14-percent caught-stealing rate over 28 attempts. Cabrera has been struggling, and McCarthy is posting a .338 wOBA against righties. Look for him to be aggressive if/when he gets on base today.
Pete Crow-Armstrong, Chicago Cubs (+282) – Let’s just stay in the same game, shall we? PCA was on a 12-game hit streak when we last picked him for a stolen base, and it missed because he was all in his head, striking out three times. Well, the streak ended, and yesterday he got right back to business, so now that he’s relaxed again, let’s do it. Ryan Feltner has allowed just four stolen bases, but his catching tandem of Hunter Goodman and Brett Sullivan combine for just a 17.7-percent caught-stealing rate. We’ve got the lefty-righty match-up, slow pop-times for backstops and PCA’s speed to make this all happen today.
