Well, the best stolen base picks article streak came to an abrupt halt as neither Christian Yelich nor Xavier Edwards managed to swipe a base for us. Funny enough, we did see both David Hamilton and Sal Frelick steals bases during the Milwaukee Brewers game, so we were in the ballpark on the Yelich call. With Edwards, it was obviously a little tougher as Drew Rasmussen was on fire in his start last night, allowing just one hit in seven scoreless innings. The bullpen allowed just one hit beyond that, so nothing we could do. It happens. Our next move is simple – dust ourselves off and start the process all over again. We’ve got some pretty nice targets for today, so let’s dive into the research and deliver the best in MLB stolen base picks today.

Pitchers Most Vulnerable to Stolen Bases Today

When hunting for successful MLB stolen base picks today, targeting the right pitcher is half the battle. The following list is made up of the day’s starting pitchers who have allowed the most stolen bases this season.

Catchers Allowing the Most Stolen Bases

The final piece of the puzzle for finding the best stolen base predictions involves looking behind the dish at catcher pop times and throwing accuracy. How many times teams attempt to steal a base on a particular catcher is a strong indicator of who we expect to see doing the most running today. The following backstops have the lowest Caught Stealing% with a minimum of 10 SB attempts against them.

Best MLB Stolen Base Picks Today:

Locking in the best stolen base predictions means finding the absolute perfect storm of a high-on-base runner and a weak battery. Here are our top two MLB stolen base picks today for Saturday, June 6:

Favorite Bets:

Brice Turang, Milwaukee Brewers (+217)

He’s now hit safely in five-straight games with four walks and two stolen bases in that span. The Rockies are struggling with their pitchers and are starting minor-leaguer Zach Agnos, so I expect and aggressive Brewers team to start running on him every chance they get. And Turang’s .314 average against righties (.443 OBP) stands out nice and bright. Rockies backstop Hunter Goodman has just an 18-percent caught-stealing rate over 22 attempts, so I feel like we’re in a good spot here.

Bobby Witt, Kansas City Royals (+252)

I feel like we HAVE to go back to Witt who cashed for us just the other day. We know that attacking Twins catcher Victor Caratini is a must. His caught-stealing numbers are weak and we’ve had tremendous success targeting against him in recent weeks. The issue might be starter Joe Ryan. Yes, he’s allowed the most stolen bases on today’s slate but much like Drew Rasmussen whom we spoke of earlier, you need to get on-base to steal one and if Ryan is dialed in, it could be trouble. But Witt has hit safely in six of his last seven and has a stolen base in each of his last four games. He actually had two against the Reds back on June 2, so he’s running all over. I’ll lock him in again today.

Longshot:

Maikel Garcia, Kansas City Royals (+434)

There’s some risk involved in that Garcia is making his first start back since missing six games with a hamstring issue. However, he’s pinch-hit in each of the last two games and has been given the green light. For everything we just spoke about Twins starter Joe Ryan and backstop Victor Caratini, Garcia should be in-play if you ant to grab longer odds. He’s a good stolen base guy when he’s in the groove so here’s hoping that groove starts today.
