PGA DFS Coverage for the Charles Schwab Challenge

The 2021-2022 PGA Tour schedule heads back to Texas to one of the oldest host courses in the country.  Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth has hosted a PGA Tour event for over 70 years.  Jason Kokrak looks to defend his 2021 title in our first event following Justin Thomas capturing his second major at the PGA Championship. Along with the PGA DFS Lineup Generator, the PGA DFS Ownership Projections is a great tool to use this week with the PGA DFS Playbook when constructing your PGA DFS lineups.

The Field: Charles Schwab Challenge

The name on everyone’s mind this week is Bryson DeChambeau.  He is listed in the 120-player field for this week’s Charles Schwab Challenge after withdrawing from the PGA Championship last week. Hometown boy Jordan Spieth will also tee it up this weekend at Colonial. He won this event in 2016 and has three runner up finishes including last year. Once again, world number one and FedEx Cup points leader Scottie Scheffler tees it up and he’ll look to bounce back after missing the cut last weekend in Tulsa. Justin Thomas coming off the victory, Will Zalatoris coming ever so close, Collin Morikawa, Viktor Hovland, and Sam Burns to name a few of the marquee names in the field.

The Course: Colonial Country Club

Colonial was built in 1936 and has been the host to a professional tournament since 1946. It plays as a stock Par 70 and reaches 7,209 yards. This course rewards accuracy from the tee to the approach.  The course features tight fairways and small bent grass greens. The average winning score over the last five years is 14.4 under par.

The Weather: Fort Worth, Texas

We will see temperatures in the low-90s on Thursday and Friday.  These guys should be used to this dry heat after playing in this area of the country for the last two weeks. The weekend will be a different story with winds picking up. Texas winds can be very hard to manage and that’s why I’ll be pushing experience on this course when picking players. There is no rain in the forecast which is a positive.

How To Watch The Charles Schwab Challenge

Golf Channel will handle the coverage on Thursday and Friday before letting CBS take over on the weekend. Golf Channel will broadcast the event from 4-7pm ET on Thursday and Friday.

On Saturday, Golf Channel will start the coverage from 2-5:30pm ET and CBS handles from 5:30-7pm ET. On Sunday, CBS will have coverage from 2-6:30pm ET.

PGA Coverage from Fantasy Alarm

A full PGA DFS Playbook will be available on DFSAlarm.com Wednesday morning at 10am ET. We will also have a full run of PGA DFS Example Lineups available beginning at 2:30pm ET. We also help you with DFS lineup construction with our usual tools like our PGA DFS Lineup Generator and a full run of PGA DFS Projections. My DFS approach this week will be to focus on cash and small field single entry tournaments. I like to build one cash lineup and one GPP.

I look forward to getting more in-depth in my PGA DFS Playbook. As always, I wish you nothing but the best of luck in your games.
