My inaugural PGA DFS Playbook did not have the greatest results, but at least I picked Jordan Spieth. Hopefully, you followed my advice on Spieth, Kevin Na and Steve Stricker and ignored me on Fred Couples and Jim Furyk. Spieth was, of course, dominant from beginning to end, in one of the most impressive performances in a major in some time.

This week all eyes will again be on Jordan Spieth this week at the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, South Carolina as he tees it up for the first time as a major champion. In the last six years, only three first-time major-winners played the next week, and those starts all came in the Travelers Championship the week after the U.S. Open. Justin Rose finished T13 in 2013, Webb Simpson was T29 in 2012 and Lucas Glover was T11 in 2009. Those results would seem to suggest passing on Spieth this week considering he is the most expensive player in salary cap games. The RBC Heritage is Spieth’s fourth tournament in as many weeks, and considering all of his media commitments on Monday and Tuesday it is fair to question how much he has left in the tank. I think I’m going to start him anyway, especially in cash games.

Spieth is just 21 years old, and if anyone can handle his whirlwind schedule he is probably the guy. After all, he played the exact same schedule last season and finished 12th at the RBC Heritage. In fact, in two starts at Harbour Town Spieth has finished 12th and ninth. Considering he has finished seventh or better in eight of his 11 events this season, I expect another top-seven this week.

If you play Spieth you pretty much have to go stars and scrubs. While I don’t have an issue with that approach, I think I would rather play two studs like Matt Kuchar and Jim Furyk. That would still allow me to play a pretty solid group around them rather than crossing my fingers on guys like David Toms. Whether you prefer stars and scrubs or a more balanced lineup, here are your best fantasy golf options for the RBC Heritage.
