Week 7 is upon us and with it brings the bye week for some of fantasy football's top players such as Aaron Rodgers, Andy Dalton, Matt Forte, A.J. Green, Randall Cobb and much more.  With all these fantasy starters getting the week off let’s take a look at who could be floating around the waiver wire that will help fill that void on your roster.

*Note the FAAB Bids are based off of a $100 budget.

Quarterbacks

Brian Hoyer, HOU – Hoyer should likely be the top-added quarterback in Week 7 after he notched his third straight game with at least two touchdowns after throwing for 293 yards and three scores against the Jaguars in Week 6.  Over the last three weeks Hoyer has thrown for 837 yards with seven touchdowns and one interception and will enter Week 7 with a favorable matchup against a Dolphins team that has allowed eight passing touchdowns this season.  Hoyer has a full arsenal of weapons at his disposal with a healthy Arian Foster in the backfield and DeAndre Hopkins and Cecil Shorts leading the receiving core.  Hoyer could potentially be more than just a bye week replacement depending on your current situation as Houston plays in an easy division and has some favorable quarterback matchups still to come.

FAAB Bid- $5-$10

Blake Bortles JAC – Bortles continues to find himself owned in under 50 percent of fantasy leagues despite his impressive passing numbers this season.  Though he threw three interceptions in Week 6 against the Texans, he also threw for 331 yards and three touchdowns which has given him 13 touchdowns on the year to go with 1,630 yards and seven interceptions.  Another underrated aspect of Bortles game is his ability to run the ball as he gained 37 yards on the ground Sunday giving him a total of 149 rushing yards on the season.  During his rookie season Bortles ran for 419 yards, which ranked him among the top scrambling QBs in football.  In Week 7 the Jaguars face off against the Bills who boast a strong pass rush but their secondary has been torched all season long which bodes well for Bortles and his receiving core. Bortles is more than a bye week plug and if you find yourself with a less than ideal QB situation (looking at you Peyton Manning owners) I would suggest bidding hard on Bortles.

FAAB Bid- $15-$20

Ryan Fitzpatrick, NYJ – Fitzpatrick has been a mainstay on this list for a majority of the season as he continues to provide solid value at quarterback in all fantasy formats, thanks mostly to his chemistry with Brandon Marshall who is playing like one of top receivers in football and a healthy Eric Decker who has found the end zone in all four games he has started this season.   Week 7 brings about a tough division matchup on the road against the Patriots, who have boasted a pretty solid defense this season but are susceptible to the garbage time yards and touchdowns which fantasy owners are certainly not complaining about.  Marshall will pose an interesting matchup as the New England secondary has not yet faced a receiver of his size and pedigree which could pose a matchup problem for the typically shorter Patriots corners.

FAAB Bid-$5-$10

Running Backs

Christine Michael, DAL – Michael makes this list after a report from ESPN Dallas suggested that he could begin to overtake Joseph Randle as the Cowboys' lead running back when they return from the bye in Week 7.  While Michael has been practicing with the Cowboys' first team offense during the week, he has seen just two carries so far this season and Randle himself has not been awful which makes this change somewhat surprising.  If you find yourself in need of running back help or maybe you are a Randle owner, Michael is certainly worth a look given his success as a backup in Seattle and the fact that he was taken in the second round just two years ago.

FAAB Bid- $5-$10

Chris Thompson, WSH – Thompson is purely a PPR add for Week 7 as the Redskins back has caught 22 passes on 31 targets over the last four weeks for 140 yards and a touchdown while mixing in a handful of carries in the process.  With backup running back Matt Jones out of the lineup with a toe injury, and likely questionable for Week 7, Thompson should again see an increased role out of the Redskins' backfield behind Alfred Morris and is a solid bye week replacement in the right league format.

FAAB Bid- $0-$5

Theo Riddick, DET – Like Thompson, Riddick is more of a PPR play than standard leagues as he had seen just two carries on the year prior to Sunday where he saw seven carries due to an injury to Ameer Abdullah.  Riddick has been especially activing in the passing attack this season, however, which merits his value, catching 33 passes for 278 yards and two touchdowns on the year.  With Joique Bell still out of the lineup and Ameer Abdullah proving to be somewhat inconsistent on the year Riddick could see his role expand a bit in the running game which would increase his overall value.

FAAB Bid- $0-$5

Wide Receivers

Stefon Diggs, WR – Diggs made his NFL debut in Week 4 against the Broncos, catching six passes for 87 yards.  The Vikings then went into the bye week which likely killed any potential fantasy impact Diggs would have made on the waiver wire for that week and subsequently put him to the back of the line heading into Week 6 for most.  Diggs will no longer be a secret heading into the Week 7 waiver period as he followed up his impressive rookie debut by catching seven passes for 129 yards against the Chiefs in Week 6.  Diggs was a fifth round pick out of Maryland by the Vikings this season and because of injuries to Jarius Wright and Charles Johnson has been given the playing time to prove his talent. In terms of matchups going forward, things could not be much better for Diggs as he faces off against the Lions in Week 7 and the Bears in Week 8 who both rank among the league’s worst against opposing receivers in fantasy this season.

FAAB Bid- $10-$15

Albert Wilson, KC – Wilson’s fantasy appeal for Week 7 is solely based off the health of Jeremy Maclin who suffered a concussion in Week 6 and is questionable to play in Week 7 against the Steelers.  As the Chiefs' No. 2 receiver on Sunday, Wilson caught three passes on six targets for 57 yards and a touchdown and while his day was certainly made much better by finding the end zone, he figures to see a bigger role in Week 7 if Maclin is unable to take the field and as a bye week fill-in any increased opportunity to score points is valuable.

FAAB Bid- $0-$5

Malcom Floyd, SD – Floyd is certainly a speculative play in Week 7 depending on the health of Keenan Allen who was injured in Week 6 against the Packers.  Floyd benefitted greatly from the Chargers' all-out passing attack on Sunday as he hauled in a season-best five catches for 95 yards.  Floyd has been a solid fantasy contributor in the past, finishing 2014 with 52 catches for 856 yards and six touchdowns while being a big-time deep threat for Philip Rivers which could translate into a solid fantasy day against the Raiders in Week 7 if he finds himself as the Chargers' No. 1 wide receiver.

FAAB Bid- $0-$5

Tight Ends

Ladarius Green, SD – Green is the other tight end in San Diego and while many of you may be wondering why exactly I am recommending the backup tight end behind Antonio Gates I find the answer to be rather simple and that is the Oakland Raiders.  The Raiders have been torched by opposing tight ends this season and though Gates figures to see a ton of looks the Chargers could be without Keenan Allen in Week 7 which would create a bigger opportunity for Green who caught 3-of-4 targets for 35 yards and a touchdown in Week 6 and 5-of-5 targets for 50 yards in Week 5, both games with Gates back on the field.  If Green is a free agent in your fantasy league this is a great matchup to take a flier on him to fill your bye week.

FAAB Bid- $0-$5

Benjamin Watson, NO – Well you had to know this was coming right? Watson makes the list after turning back the clock about a decade and hauling in 10 passes for 127 yards and a touchdown in Week 6 against the Falcons.  Watson has now found the end zone in two straight weeks and before his explosive performance on Thursday was averaging just about three catches for 35 yards a game which in PPR formats is somewhat useful.  The Saints face off against the Colts in Week 6 who, for all intents and purposes, shut down Rob Gronkowski despite allowing him to find the end zone but Watson does not figure to be the focal point of the Colts' defense in Week 7 which could make him a decent option at a shallow position.

FAAB Bid- $0-$5

Jacob Tamme, ATL – Tamme is coming off a relatively quiet Week 6 where he caught 3-of-5 targets for 32 yards against the Saints but was coming off an impressive performance in Week 5 where he caught 8-for-10 targets for 94 yards against the Redskins.  In Week 7 the Falcons travel to Tennessee to face a Titans team that just allowed both Dolphins tight ends Jordan Cameron and Dion Sims to find the end zone which makes Tamme an intriguing play if you are looking for a bye week replacement in a deep league.
