Jets RB Le'Veon Bell told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler he "can't wait" to run behind the team's revamped offensive line.
Fowler asked Bell if noticed the offseason priority of adding "road-graders" to clear a path for the runner, responding with "absolutely." The running game can only improve after last season's disastrous performance, where the Jets ranked among the bottom three teams in numerous run game metrics. The additions of Mekhi Becton, guard Greg Van Roten, center Connor McGovern and tackle George Fant among others should create more yards before contact for Bell, who also has to worry about staying in favor of head coach Adam Gase. - Coach Adam Gase said "I do think we have some guys that can help maybe lessen the load on (RB Le'Veon Bell) to where it's not all on him."
- General manager Joe Douglas said Bell hasn't been a topic of trade discussion, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.
- Coach Adam Gase declined to comment on whether he wants Bell back with the team for 2020, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. "[Bell]'s under contract for three years. You can ask Joe (Douglas)," Gase said. "You can ask Joe tomorrow...I'm not in charge of personnel." All Le'Veon Bell News
